I got a problem with my setup main computer, It work wery god wireless, with very fine speed about 82 mbit in and 24 mbit out. The problem is that it almost don't work at all with cable, even if i turn off the wireless network, the speed is about 2-3 mbit in and about 6-7 mbit out All other computers, tv. printer wireless work very fine.
View 2 RepliesI have a wireless audio system using several Apple Airport Express boxes currently communicating using 802.11g through my Verizon FiOS MI424WR (Actiontec) router. I also have wireless security cameras and several laptops on the same connection. I occasionally have audio dropouts I suspect due to wireless bandwidth limitations. I have a Netgear WNR3500 Wireless-N Gigabit router that I would like to hang off of the Verizon router and move the Airport Expresses, which are 802.11N capable, to its Wi-fi connection. This would keep my audio streams separate from the video and other wireless traffic and take advantage of the 802.11N.I in configuring the router/s to facilitate this arrangement. I have numerous Windows machines (XP and Windows 7), mostly hardwired, on my main network along with a NAS containing my audio library. So all devices need to be able to see all other devices.

How do I have the E4200 act as a WAP only or not assign IP addresses and push that responsibility to the TZ100?
I'd still want the E4200 to have a SID key for LAN access security.
I have XP 64bit OS and I can't seem to get the setup CD to install E4200 Router. I have looked at the FAQ and it says it should be compatible with all Windows OS. Is there a link out there to the drivers I need to do this?

View 5 Replies View RelatedHave been trying for the past two days to install a new E4200. It gets to 25% in the setup and then errors out and says I need to contact customer service.
Connecting through a brand new DSL modem that I know works as I can get access through my old router.
My PC (Windows 7) is directly connected to the router. I got to the point where I named the router in the install process the first time, but then it hung.
Have tried to use the CD to re-setup with no success. I've tried the hard reset holding in the button for 10 seconds and unplugging but nothing has changed.
Our internet provider has no intention of providing a IPv6 DNS so I have a crippled at best service. We live in an area where our only option is through satellite service, so changing providers in not in the cards, yet.
If I "Disable" the DHCP Sever, the setup menu provides a method for me to force feed up to three Static DNS addresses, all with IPv4 addresses.
There are several locations that provide "free" DNS service, but how does one verify the security of such sites? Does Cisco keep track of the status of this kind of service or am I on my own? Cisco seems to endorse two DDNS services, but for home use, the extra charges seem otherwise unnecessary, and do not yet address the IPv6 question.
The first few that I have investigated that do provide IPv6 service also provide their addresses in IPv6 format. The E4200 menu does not seem to allow me to do that.
Am I going to be forced to live with crippled IPv6? I have already discovered a software product that has failed since changing routers, but works if I take my laptop to a particular WiFi location.
I have bought Linksys E 4200. I'm connected up by protocol PPPoE by my provider, but IPTV doesn't work on my computer.I use the program IP-TV Player and/or VLC Player and both don't work. I only see the list of channel, but any channel doesn't load. Before I used the router DLink Dir 300, and everything was Ok.

But can't connect a 2nd computer is wired. That is a PC running Vista. I know the wiring is good, because the E4200 is a replacement router in a network that was working fine.

I had to replace it with this new E4200 but don't see an option for it to act as a time source for my internal network.

Have just changed my E4200 to EA4500 but can my computer has not IE access. Both router has same settings and the mac adr are both in the modem at the local cabel firm.
View 4 Replies View Relatedthere has been issues with this router, and I wonder if any of you have issues connecting to the 5ghz when you wake your pc from sleep longer than an hour. For some reason when I put my computer to sleep at night and wake it up in the morning, my computer will not connect to 5ghz. It will work fine with 2.4, both are set in auto, so I dont see any issues. I did try to put 5ghz to a manual setting; wpa2, 40 mhz, and channel 161. I still get the same results. I am doing something wrong or is the router's 5ghz faulty?Also when is the new firmware coming, I am getting sick of my Harddrive being awake 24/7, its killing the harddrives life span and wasting electricity. I should put this in another post, because they should really change the media server to Wild Media Server or Serviio it would be alot better.

Am I going to just simply Flash my 610 to default , disconnect it and pack it away , Setup my new E4200 , Plug in my E3000 into port 1 and go about giving it a separate IP Addy? Or can I expect a **bleep**? Any setup tips?

I want to connect a third wireless (Linksys WRT 54GL) to the main router,but I want to connect wirelessly (without any cables). I have tried to bridge it,ie disabling DHCP and assigning a static IP address which is in the same range as the main router but still if i connect my laptop using the third router I cant log onto the internet and worst still I cant ping the main router. The main router is the one that is connected to the proxy server. My connections are as follows,from the wireless antenna the cable goes to the proxy server's wan port,the main wireless router is linked to the server's lan port.My server's LAN ip is 192.168.0.1 and the main wireless router is 192.168.0.2 I have two other routers which are wired to this main wireless router and their local IP addresses are 192.168.0.4 and 192.168.0.5 respectively. Even after manually adding both the main and the guest info we are STILL unable to connect either of the PSPs We had an older router from your company which we had no issues connecting 6 desktops, a lappy, 2 psp, 2 ds, 2 xbox 360, and a Wii, as well as our smart phones. After the reinstall I am able to connect to the internet however I am unable to connect main server computer. Usually, before it crashed, the server would automatically show up in the networks folder. My main computer is Win7 64, (Phenom II quad, asus M490GTD) , my wife's computer(wired connection, Dell P5Duo) and my work laptop (wireless connection HP core I5) are XP. I have a USB printer attached to the wife's computer and two wireless Squeezebox receivers. This network worked with the old router. With the new router i can access internet from all computers, and connect to the new network with the Squeezeboxes. I cannot print from the main computer, even though the printer shows up in the devices window and the test page spools.

We have now added a 2nd location but the partner wouldnt allow a 2nd VPN tunnel so the decision was made to give the new location a ASA5505 to tunnel thru the main office to access the resources at the partners site.Using ASDM i believe i was able to setup the tunnel to the main office but there is no resource there to use. Now i'm stuck and i do not know what to do to get to the partner site
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Main computer (which has a wired connection to router) internet is running so slow, i mean so slow that i cannot even do a speed test, it keeps failing, im continuously getting server timed out messages when browsing, and to watch a youtube video of 1 minute long it will take about 5 - 10 minutes to stream it before i can watch it. However despite the above the two laptops and ipad work great, i have a braodband speed of around 16megs. Now here is everything i have done so far. After calling my ISP to se if it was their fault, which it turned out not to be, they got me to change all the DNS and IP settings to manual, they gave me all the numbers to put in. Again that did not work so i used namebench to find the quickest DNS servers for me, that didnt work ethier so i just reverted all settings back to automatic as they were before.

I have one computer (also Win 7 Ult.) that's my primary computer, the other 2 computers are mostly HTPC computers that I have set up to stream from my main computer.I do know how to set up Home groups for sharing files, but I could only set it up that there would be full access to the shares or no access at all. [For simplicity: My primary computer will be PC-1, the 2 HTPC's will be PC-2 and PC-3, and my laptop PC-4.]PC-1 will host all the files I want access to. PC-2 and PC-3 will access my music and videos folders for streaming. PC-4 which is my own personal laptop will have full access to shared folders that I DO NOT want being able to be accessed on PC-2 and PC-3.I have tried many and various types of ways to deny access from PC-2 and PC-3, where PC-4 would be allowed access to on my PC-1, but every time it's either all PC's get access or NO access to the shared folders. I also want to keep all my user accounts as admins.
