View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently deleted an account off of my computer, it was just the account I didn't use that had no password, it was not the admin or administrator account. So I deleted it, and went to bed, I woke up the next day and my computer was just finishing installing an update, after it restarted my internet does not work and it has the yellow caution triangle over top. I troubleshooted, and got the message "windows could not automatically detect proxy settings"When I open network and sharing center it would say "identifying" forever and not identify I guess. The weird thing is, my sisters computer and my old computer can connect to the internet fine. I tried bringing my computer next to the router/modem(not sure of the difference) and i plugged the ethernet cord directly into the modem/router into my computer, and it's the same thing. The most annoying thing is that i cannot do a system restore as i have not set it up before hand.(yes i know that is a very novice mistake
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a laptop with 2 user account (one for me - administrator and the other for my eleven year old son). Connection is wireless. Until a few months ago everything was working fine and then the problems started: my son could no longer connect on the internet with Explorer and Google Chrome but I managed to connect it via Firefox. And it worked until yesterday. As of yesterday he can no longer connect to the internet even with Firefox. I tried again as an administrator to reinstall Google Chrome, but the icon is shown only on my user account. I took a completely new browser - Opera, but fails to connect. When I go to Diagnose & Repair connection problems - shows no problems. On my account everything is working properly. OS is Windows Vista Home Premium
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhile I was at school there was a system in place where by you had to enter a user name and password to access the internet. Every student had a data limit like 3GB per month for example. I remember it had something to do with a proxy. I would like to recreate this system on my office LAN as some staff members have been downloading a lot slowing down the (very expensive) Internet connection. Limiting each users data will discourage large downloads.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am having problems with my RV042.I have a Intervoip(url...) account for VOIP.
When I try to register the intervoip account to the internet I don't get any kind of reply. My VOIP server just keeps requesting to register the SIP account, but gets no reply.
When I connect an other router to my ISP modem, the register just goes fine. However the RV042 blocks something I don't really know what the cause could be.I installed wireshark to monitor my network traffic.
When I monitor registering with intervoip with the RV042, I see requests but no replies from intervoip, the VOIP server keeps requesting, but doesn't get any reply.
When I monitor registering with intervoip with an other router, I see requests from the VOIP server, and replies from intervoip initiating my intervoip account and everything goes well and registers. The following I tried:
- Forwarding port 5060 to private ip
- Putting private ip in DMZ
- Disabled the firewall
All without result. (Also tried them all at once)

I'm in the process of building them a new file server and am considering using Server Standard 2008.I am even going to take them off the domain and make their server strictly a file server for Peacthree. It is the only reason they even need a "server".

View 3 Replies View RelatedI haven't got time to test different configurations yet. Just want to quickly ask here about the fall-over route-map configuration. I saw lots of example using pip prefix-list to specify the next-hop for tracking. Is that the only way you can do it? Can you just use a standard ACL to specify that host like permit host 10.2.2.2? ip prefix-list will do like ip prefix-list seq 5 permit 10.2.2.2/32. And you apply the prefix-list to route-map then. ACL will work?
View 2 Replies View RelatedChecking the logs we have seen the following messages:
%SPANTREE-3-PRESTD_NEIGH: pre-standard MST interaction not configured (Port-channel3). Please, configure: 'spanning-tree mst pre-standard' on ports connected to MST pre-standard switches.

%LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface GigabitEthernet2/0/1, changed state to down
When this happened, the interface that was actually blocked by STP didn't come to forwarding state, and as a result this switch became isolated. This switch is connected to a switch that runs standard MST, and to some switches that run PVST but have bpdufilter enabled as we don't want them to participate on the STP. It is a 3750 switch with software version 12.2(55)SE5.
As far as I knew, when a MST pre-standard BPDU was received, the interface was able to receive more pre-standard BPDUs, but I didn't know it would turn the link down. Why the links went down, and if there is any way we can configure those links to accept only MST standard BPDUs.
I would also like to know if there is any chance a switch running PVST can send a MST pre-standard BPDU if it has a software version 12.2(25)SEE3.
I would like to know the basic configurations for Win Server 2008 Standard for a small office (60 clients) The company has a Sales, HR, warehouse, and Accounting, and VPN for some sales, what configuration do you recommend me for each area? Right now my server has DHCP, DNS, and AD (do I need to install any other role?), Also what other configuration do I need in order to control my clients and users, and for security? how can I make the clients to save their files in my server? or make a copy of their files from their computers to my server? Any information for security? in my server or Router?
Like the tittle say, I just want to know all the configurations needed in a network for a small company.
I´m looking at this document: [URL] and I´m not clear if Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard with SP1 is supported. The documentation refers to Windows 2008 Server SP2 and Windows 2008 Server R2, but I see no specific mention to Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard with SP1.

I'm not sure how to get the Mutual authentication to work, or how to import the PEM certificiate into that client. It seems to allow it to import, but I can never select it.
