We used to be able to have all our family's laptops, etc., connected at the same time using this code, but the site has recently changed the configuration so that we can't do this. Is there any way we can share the connection made by one computer so that we can all access the Internet at the same time? The site is in a remote location that gets poor mobile data coverage and landlines are not an option. The yearly fee is already high, so I can't afford to pay for multiple subscriptions.

Network Computers Losing Connection After Going To Sleep
Jun 15, 2011I have three computers on my network. Two are wired and one is wireless. I continually run into the probably of getting a limited connection after the computer goes to sleep and I wake it up. I attempt to automatically correct it, but this doesn't work. I try to use the command prompt with ipconfig/release ipconfig/renew and it doesn't work. Then I try to disconnect the adapter and it doesn't work. I also reset the modem and the router with no resolve. Most of the time the only thing that works is restarting the computer. In addition I do use DHCP static addresses for the computers on the network. What is causing this and how do I fixt it without restarting the computer?

Have tried to change from workgroup to domain that the server is on so to create username and password but error message keeps coming up 'a domain controller for the domain ata.local could not be contacted or if just use ata as domain it does not accept any username or password. 2 Computers On Network Lose Server Access Randomly
Feb 1, 2013Roughly 10 or so computers and 10 or so printers connected to a server 2003 machine with att dal internet. Upgraded to att uverse and because of our program that we use (hotel management software) we have to keep the gateway / ip's all the same. Well for whatever reason, just so happen that our specific info that we have to use, the uverse modem has reserved for its self and we cant use it on there. We hook up a cisco e1000 router and have it act as the gateway so that we can configure our settings the way we need. Get everything going just perfectly fine. Sometime that night, 2 of the computers lose server/networked files access, but still have internet access. They only lose access to shared files, printers, etc... Logging off/on or restarting the pc's fixes the problem. But then every night almost like clockwork around the same time frame, it all happens again. I've changed ip's on the machines, changed settings here and there, but nothing has fixed the problem. The biggest pain is, I cant replicate the problem, I have to waot until that night to know if what I did worked or not. The last thing I tried was changing the lease expire timer in the router from 24 hours to 7 days. I figured I'd give that a try since it seems that its almost 24 hours exactly between errors.

Feb 25, 2011I have 2 Windows 7 desktops that are both connected to seperate vonage boxes and those vonage boxes are connected to my D-Link DIR-655 router. That D-Link router is getting its connection from a Comcast router. I am looking to get one of the desktops to share a printer from the other one which has it hard wired via USB cable. When I first set this up I did not have the vonage boxes and the desktops were connected right into the router and everything worked fine. Now that the vonage boxes are in place it is a mess. I can get internet fine on both machines, but no file/printer sharing. I have followed all the steps to setup the correct workgroup and file and printer sharing options on both windows 7 machines but they cannot see each other at all. My feeling is that now that the vonage boxes are there that instead of the desktops looking at the D-Link router for its sharing option they are looking at the vonage boxes and that is why they cant be seen. Does this make sense? Is there a firewall on the vonage boxes stopping these two desktops from seeing each other? Do I have to change something on the D-Link router options for it to give access to the vonage boxes for these 2 machines to see each other for printer/file sharing?

Coincidentally, my wireless router is brand new also, and so it makes the situation even more difficult to eradicate. My laptop connects to the router wirelessly without a hitch, however, every five minutes or so, a small yellow exclaimation mark appears alongside the 'connection symbol' and it says there is either 'No Internet Access', or 'No Network Access', despite the fact it is connected to the wireless and has a full strength connection. However, my brother's laptop connects and surfs the web seamlessly, as well as the family desktop PC and various mobile devices. I am reluctant to return the laptop back to the store?

May 24, 2011We have a D-Link DI-524 wireless router that has had no problems until today. Our laptops (with Windows XP), iPods, and iPhones all show that there is an excellent wireless network connection (as usual), but none of the computers or devices will connect to the Internet. I tried resetting, rebooting, and unplugging the modem and router. The router and modem seem to be fine. When we disconnect the router and plug the laptop directly into modem, we have Internet connection (i.e., it's not the IP).

Linksys Wireless Router :: E4200 Cannot Access Shared Computers On Mac
Nov 2, 2011Recently installed an E4200 router to an MacPro following the setup as directed by Cisco Connection (connect Ethernet to router and then computer to router.) The wireless and the hard-wire connectivity works fine with accessing the internet. However, we have lost the ability to connect to other computers on our LAN via the Shared folder connection. This is usually accessed via the Sidebar (see image)
However with the E4200 in the mix, all we see is the router per its "given name" (what it was named on installation). I have tried to follow the advice mentioned in other threads, such as "Can't access network shares with E3000" and nothing worked-- and those threads seemed to apply to Windows and PCs anyway.

ATT dsl modem into a 16 port netgear gigabit switch into dlink 615 Some computers are hardwired two are wireless All was working well before d-link with the linksys When im on a wireless computer i cant see the other computers hardwired to the network through the switch. When i take a wireless computer and plug it directly into the switch it see the rest of the computers fine.Something screwy is happening between the switch and the dlink router not allowing me to see my shared folders and printer over wifi.

Nov 17, 2012I have a WRT54G that has worked fine for years, with some PCs hooked up with Ethernet and various other devices connected wirelessly. I came home this afternoon and nothing going through the router could connect to the internet. I've made no changes to anything recently.
I did troubleshooting with Comcast, and we determined that when their modem was hooked up directly to my computer then that computer could connect to the net. Problem solved as far as they are concerned--my router is busted. But I can still connect to the router, and enter its admin screen, and everything looks fine there. The computers on the router can all see each other. So the router is working.
Once I hooked it back up to the modem my computers all lost their internet, but the router does get an IP successfully from Comcast. And it even assigns IPs to my computers that are hooked up to it. It's just that for some reason they still cannot get past the router.I used the ping function in the router admin site and the router pinged Google no problem. My PCs can ping the router without difficulty. But the computers cannot ping Google.
I've tried every combination of power cycles and reboots you can name. I've tried duplicating the MAC address of the PC that connected to the internet onto my router. None of it has made any difference.
