We just moved and had our internet service connected at the new house using the same service provider, wireless router and network we had at the old house. My PC can access the internet fine, but my wife's iPad cannot.
View 5 RepliesWe are implementing a new corporate wireless network with Cisco 5508 WLC's and C3602I LWAP's. We are not running any RADIUS or EAP at the moment and are starting with WPA2 w/ AES with a pre-shared key to begin piloting. The issue we are having is iOS based devices (iPhone/iPad) do not seem to want to connect. We just get a could not join wireless network messages. We have had success with several Windows based laptops, my MacBook connects, as well as several different Android devices.Looking at the logs on the WLC I see these entries which correspond to the MAC address of my iPhone.

I configured DHCP pool on Cisco AP 1131, Laptop users are working fine and obtain IP address from AP 1131 DHCP Server, but IPad user is getting IP problem when he try to connect Cisco AP 1131.when i reboot the AP, IPad user getting IP address from 1131 AP dhcp server and access the network resource for the 2-3 hr after that IPad show "obtaining ip address from .....".

We are experiencing problems with Apple Ipads on a large scale network that we install and maintain, the Ipads seem to join the network with no problems (bit slower than laptops etc) but will then disconnect for no apparent reason at random intervals. We have ran laptops on the same AP's and in the same area and no similar probems occurred, we are using IOS Cisco 1041's and 1042's, we have seen one of the Ipads's sitting quite happily on a 1042 2,4ghz radio and then it disconnected and went to the 5ghz radio. We are getting similar disconnects on the single radio 1041.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy iphone wireless connectivity to my Linksys router that I have put up with for a year, but as I now have the same issue with my ipad I've decided enough is enough.The issue is that they both connect OK to the router and therefore to the internet, but after a short period of time (minutes) whilst it appears that they are still connected to the router the connection seems to completely hang. At that point I have to go into settings on the iphone/ipad and turn off the wireless connection and turn it on again. This then allows connectivity and internet activity for 5-10 (15-20) minutes before it hangs again.I have no problems with connecting to any other router from the iphone and ipad. And I also have no problems with my PC's connecting to the Linksys router.

View 2 Replies View Relatedwe recently upgraded our home router and have been having trouble ever since. Our old router was a Netgear one, so we bought a newer netgear model. Since installing the new one we can not get my daughters laptop, an iPad and ipods to work on the wifi. My computer is wired into the router and works fine, it is just the wireless. All of these things worked perfectly using our old netgear wirelss modem and all of them can find the wireless network on their list of available networks, they all say that they are connected with a good signal, but when they try to browse the internet or check emails, it comes up saying not connected to the internet. We even bought a range extender because we thought the signal might not be strong enough between the new router and my daughters bedroom which are at opposite ends of the house and on different floors, but it made no difference and wasn't a problem before.
Anyway, the router we bought is a Netgear N150 wireless modem router DGN1000, the cables are plugged in to ports 1 and 4 ( there is only 1,2,3 and 4 to choose from). The extender is a Netgear universal range extender WN2000RPT
I have tried turning it all off and back on again, have uninstalled it and reinstalled it, but still nothing. Daughters laptop uses Vista and she has McAfee security. Exactly as it has always been and has worked fine using our old wireless router, just not this new one.
Have a PC set up with a LINKSYS N2500 router. this is password protected for access to network I would like to monitor what one of my children is doing on the net - but they surf the net using an iPad

With an RDP app, i can access my work network from multiple public locations from my iPad. At home, on my laptop, I start the cisco client then use the windows rdp, presto i'm in my work network. At home on my iPad I can activate the VPN, but I can not connect with rdp. I spoke with linksys support tonight they had me add port 3389 to port range triggering and disable the firewall on the home router. This didn't solve the problem. To recap: 1) I can connect to my work network with rdp from multiple public locations, but not at home with the iPad 2) I can connect to my work network at home with my laptop with the cisco client ant the windows rdp

My chrome browser got hijacked by the search conduit virus. So, I cleaned it with AdW cleaner. My internet connection was ok then. After that, I ran ccleaner and cleared the registry. Now, I find that I have trouble even connecting to my wireless - it says limited connectivity or no connectivity. The other comp's in my house can connect to the internet fine. I've checked and resetted my network adapter. It is working, but still can't connect. I restored all my registry but still it doesn't solve the problem.

I get connection to the intranet/server just not the internet. I try to ping [URL]and it receives b/w 2 and 3 packets at terrible speeds. I have been using "iVPN" on the Mac to "distribute" the home Mac's Internet connection to the iPad. I have everything set up right and the VPN works fine and the iPad connects fine, just not when I am work, where I want it to work. The iPad tells me that it cannot connect to the VPN. I believe my work blocks VPN ports (1701, 1723 etc) I can do a google search from the iPad on the work WiFi so the connection is ok, but I believe those ports are blocked. If I connect the iPad to a restaurant's wifi for example, the VPN connects fine. What client can I use to create my own VPN at home where I can use a standard port like port 80 or something that is not blocked at work so that I can connect to the VPN from work?

I don't see any log messages that give any clues to why it is doing this. We have 30 of these working worldwide (on the same software level and same config) and this is the only one having the problem.
Things I have tried: Changing software levels - there is a code level where it didn't seem to have this issue, but I can't run it because then I'm unable to monitor it in our monitoring system. Swapping out wireless access pointsRe-terminating the cable on the AP side, it was really difficult to get the network cable into the AP while swapping it outBlocking a company test piece of equipment from connecting using the mac address filtering (it connects with one of their test IPs - weird) – I still see it connecting though I don't see high utilization on the switch port when the issue happens I had a few cases open with TAC, and they were unable to find anything wrong - gave them sh techs of prior to the event and after the event. It was one of those where the tickets were open for a weeks with no updates.
I recently had a 5508 controller installed and configured for a corporate network as well as internet only guest access. Users authenticate via 802.1X key management on the corporate network and web authentication via guest. This works fine, however, I've run into a problem. We also use iPads for inspections and the inspection site is housed internally. I've had a network admin create an exception in the firewall that will allow connection to the internal sites from the guest network, however, it does not function. I did find that if I connect an iPad to the corporate wireless network I'm able to download the necessary certificate to the device but that only works if I use my login information which is not something I am interested in doing. Is it possible to enable another authentication for the corporate network without breaking the functionality of the existing 802.1X authentication? What could possibly be the cause on the guest network not allowing connectivity to the internal sites, even though the exception has been created?

When I try to manually set up a connection I get limited connectivity and no internet. View 5 Replies View RelatedI cannot connect local IP addresses that are connected to X3000 THROUGH LAN CABLE, but we can connect to the local IP addresses that are connected to X3000 THROUGH WIRELESS.There is definetly something wrong with the software of the X3000 since it is the only DHCP server on my network.I have 3 routers connected to X3000 thru LAN cable, the strange thing is when i connect to one of those 3 routers i can connect all devices in the network whether wired or wireless.when i connect to X3000 thru wireless i cannot access to those LAN devices in the network unless they are directly connected to X3000 thru wireless.and when i connect to x3000 with a LAN cable everything works perfect, i am able to access all devices in my network.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am experiencing - loosing network connectivity entirely (between the router and the cable modem) or loosing connection to some clients: 2 wireless laptops - one N and one G, and 4 wired connections. This requires a reboot of the router 2-3 times a day. Never experienced any of these problems with a Linksys WRT54G, a unit that this one replaced. Unless I can resolve it, the WRT54G is going back in, and WRT160N is going back.

My ISP is Comcast. I have tried resetting the router with no luck. I have tried to update the drivers but I cannot even log into 192.168.1.1. I am in dire need of the wireless cpability. When I go to the run command and type ipconfig it tells me I have no default gateway.

Full Cisco network; 3560 POE switches on edge and Cisco 6509 at the core.At first we looked at it as a wireless issue. No settings changes on the APs would allow the iPad connect. About 125 other iPads of various models worked fine. Took the offending iPad to McDonalds and it connects fine. Took the offending iPad to another school in our District and it connected and worked fine. Went back to the home school, still won't connect. Contacted Apple since iPad was under warranty, sent it to them and they ran diagnostics and it is fine.Is there anyway that the core switch is blocking the iPad client?

My Setup is simple I have ST536v6 (firmware 7.4.4) modem in bridge mode and Cisco RV 180W connect to my ISP using Ppoe. I followed the Admin guide and created the pptp user. If I connect from internal network it connects but when I try to connect the device from WAN it just does not work.

I am working with a company who uses an Access database that checks members in and out of a gym. 6-8 people work in the database at any given time. Several times a day the users will get a network error and they have to force the database to close. Sometimes this happens to all of the users and sometimes to just certain ones. I believe the problem lies with the database (due to poor programming) but I want to monitor the network connectivity to see if and when the network connection is dropped and determine if that corresponds with when users begin seeing network errors in the database.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an EA2700 running latest firmware 1.1.38.138827. It is using Cisco Connect Cloud. I am unable to access the DHCP Reservations link under Connectivity/ Local Network. When I click on it, nothing happens. I've tried multiple browsers including IE 10 (Windows 8 RTM), Firefox 15, and Chrome 21. I also tried on a Windows 7 machine with IE 9 and the link doesn't work on that either except that it shows a box that says Invalid Character when I click on the DHCP Reservations link. I see no invalid characters on the screen. Any workaround other than downgrading the firmware or assigning static IPs on individual PCs?Also, on an unrelated note, where is the Dynanic DNS configuration on the Cisco Connect Cloud?
