Wireless Not Working On Both XP And Vista Computer?

Though, the internet works fine when I plug it into the modem with a yellow cable.The other computers in the house work fine, so at first I thought it was perhaps a virus- like spyware or something. I've used Malwarebytes and no luck. I also thought it was a bit coincidental that it occured simultaneously on both computers and not on my parents or brothers'.I've also tried several other of the tricks I read up on the net..- Unclicking proxy.- Going into device manager and uninstalling/disabling wireless, then installing again- Unclicking Ip6.- system restore.I'm out of ideas and about to do a repair install on the xp computer.One last thing.. I did notice that when going into Network Map - Wireless Network Correction - it says the adapter is not connected?

Ive been using my linksys wusb54g network adapter for a while. I have windows vista and until today it has been working fine. I reinstalled my OS because i had been having blue screen of death problems. Now that i've done this, i cant seem to get my adapter to work againIve seen a bunch of sites saying i need to install ralink rt2500usb or something, but the links for it never work as these pages are several years old.I cant figure this out. All i need to do is get my internet working and this adapter just doesnt work. Theres no support for vista i guess.

I had a wired router (dlink) that worked fine until it died. So I bought a netgear wndr 3400 v2 wireless router.I can connect to the wifi with my phone, but not with my desktop (running vista home basic).I called my isp, and we went through all the physical set up and that was fine, but it still said unknown network....he said it was that vista was not recognizing my new router....Here is my ipconfig /all business

My Wireless network suddenly dropped out and now wont pick up any wireless devices.
When I go into Manage hardware it comes up saying that the Drivers are not installed for my network Controller. Searching does not find any to install and due to just relocating I cant find my original Disks that came with the laptop.
So I am reduced to sitting next to the router and being hard wired for the internet.

So, i just got a new computer from a friend of mine.It is a couple years old running Vista, but i keep having this problem.I can connect to either of my routers, and i will be fine for about 5-10 mins before it disconnects me from Skype or Yahoo or whatever webpage i am on.The connection icon in the corner doesn't say it is disconnected, but everything disconnects.

I recently decided to set up my xp pc again in my bedroom. Set up everything and it wont connect to the router or see my other pc. The router and PC don't seem to see it either. So far I've made sure the Workgroup's are named the same. I've tried allowing it to obtain it's own IP as well as setting a manual default setting. When I allow it to obtain it's own IP I get a limited connectivity error. If I set default settings that error goes away but I still can't get online still or see the rest of the network. It will only ping itself. Pinging yahoo.com, my other PC or other ip addresses time out. Also there are no device errors in device manager. Everything says it's operating correctly. I've tried resetting default settings on the router. I've unplugged and replugged in everything, powering on modem/router/pc. Nothing seems to work.
The problem computer is an AMD Athlon (64) 3500+ 2.2ghz with 1g ram running Windows XP Media Center Edition version 2002 service pack 3. The Router is a Linksys BEFSR41. The Ipconfig /all for it is below:

Small office setup with a wireless modem/router. We have two computers that are identical HP Pavilion a6807c PCs running Vista Home Premium. Other computers in the office are a bit older and run either XP or Vista.Just purchased a new HP Officejet 7000 printer and connected it via a USB to one of the HP Pavilion Vista computers (which I will refer to as HP1). The printer works fine on HP1 using the direct USB connection.Set printer sharing, file sharing, and even public sharing on both HP computers (HP1 and the other one I will refer to as HP2). Workgroup name is the same. Can access HP1 and see the HP printer on HP1 from other computers in the office. However, when I try to connect to the printer from HP2 to HP1, it locks up HP1 and HP1 requires a hard reset. I tried installing the software/drivers on HP2, but HP2 still tries to install the drivers from HP1.I am not sure its a problem with HP1 as much as it is a Vista issue. The reason I say this is because I have been able to successfully use an XP computer (XP3) to connect and print to the Officejet on HP1.

It's a Vista Toshiba satellite laptop(was upgraded from XP)About 6 months ago it started dropping the internet and switching to local access only. I've tried to disconnect it and re-connect it but it doesn't work. It stays with the local access only.The only way I get it back is to disconnect it then reboot it. After about a day or two it repeats this cycle.

the computer is a dell it runs vista, it says its connected but wont let me access internet. I dont know a whole lot about this stuff.at the network and sharing center it showes im connected to the network but that the netywork is not connected to the internet. all other devices in the house are connected fine and running great.

I can't access anything on the network. The computer is a Dell running Windows Vista Home Premium. All attempts to access the network fail (ping, local shares, http) and other machines cannot access this one. Network & Sharing Center shows a fault between the Home Network and the internet, however I am unable to Ping or be Pinged by other computers on the Home Network. Other machines on the network are working fine both wired and wireless, although the machine in question is wired only (no wireless NIC).
The following items have been attempted, some many times, in no particular order, all producing no change in symptoms (not a complete list).
Network & Sharing diagnose & repair/reset NIC card.
Cold boot.
Last known good.
Safe mode with networking support.
Disable/stop all non-essential services & applications including firewall and antivirus.
Upgrade network drivers.

I have 2 computers, One running Vista 32, Desktop.Another, Laptop, Win 7 64bit.Both computers have given Error 651 when using PPPoE wired connections, usually at the peak of the day.My ISP says that Error 651 is the problem, while I am starting to think its the amount of bandwidth their giving my neighborhood/home.Also, can that dosen't work,how to fix the overall problem of my Internet shutting off at peak hours?

I recently reinstalled Vista on my Dell laptop.Before that,I could view and open shared files on my XP desktop, although the PC couldn't see the laptop.Now, I can get online, but can't see the PC in Network places.I've ensured both have same workgroup name.I think it may be due to Norton Internet Security,which I've renewed and reinstalled from new disk.But the former one didn't prevent file-sharing, albeit one way,XP to Vista.Before I uninstall Norton again, is there anything else I should have done after Vista reinstall ?

ok so my moms computer (compaq fs7600) had vista an it went nuts so i wiped it an installed xp pro. Everything went fine but now it wont connect to the internet =/. I have a Belkin Wireless router and an Arris high speed modem from Brighthouse. When i checked the cmd prompt it said that the media is disconnected an network connections said that it was unplugged, but everything is plugged in

I'm having a really difficult time getting to find the right drivers for a poweredge 1950. I know it has 2 broadcom on-board NIC's and they work fine in Windows 7 so I feel I should be able to find drives for Vista bus 64. I tried downloading the drivers from the dell site and they turned out to be drives for server 2003 and 2k8, and wouldn't work with Vista.
how to identify the chipset of the onboard NIC's so I can do a better search for the drivers? I tried running Belarc advisor which usually gives pretty detailed info but it didn't even mention the broadcom's.

My sony vaio (vista) has stopped working wirelessly. I have tried it at two locations with two different networks and modems and both times it would not work. So its the laptop that must be at fault. I can connect to the internet through the ethernet cable.

I've a Airtel Broadband connection with a Beetel WiFi Router. I've installed Windows Vista on my laptop. Though the network icon in the Task Bar shows that its connected I'm not able to connect to the internet. I've tried different browsers but failed. Also I've tried to ping websites in command prompt even that is not working. The connection works absolutely fine on my brother's Dell laptop hence I'm sure that there is no problem with the Router.

i am using windows vista on my laptop.i was using zone alarm firewall, but switched it to windows firewall.after switching, my internet was cutoff. i can see that i am connected to my network, but cant get to internet.when i run diagnosis on my laptop, it gives me three options:
my Ethernet driver is having hardware issue.
my wireless driver is having hardware issue.
ip protocol binding is having issue. check ipv4 and ipv6 settings.

My network card went bad. So I replaced the card with a Dynex Gigabit card and it seemed to work. Used the computer that day but the next day the computer wouldn't power up. So I checked the computer, the cabel, the plug, etc.. I pulled the new network card and the computer powered up just fine but no internet. Well, I thought, must be gremlins and re-installed the network card. Again, the computer wouldn't power up. So I spoke to Dynex technical support and the guy I spoke to suggested that the card might be a bad card. So I got a second Dynex card; replaced that and same thing; computer wouldn't power up. If I fiddle with the card (pull and re-set) the computer starts but the computer won't start again after I turn it off. So I said, matbe it's a "cheap" card and went to another computer store and got a D-Link Gigabit Desktop PCI Adapter, installed (along with new software after having removed the old Dynex software) and; same thing.
SO, I am at my wits end. What is causing my Dell XPS 420 to behave like this. I don't want to resort to Dell because their technical support costs are outrageous.

my boss has a vostro 1500 laptop and is constantly losing internet connection. Before losing connection, a little blue world shows up in front of the computer picture in the lower right hand corner and then says *limited access available*, then he can not connect at all. If he disconnects and then reconnects it works for a short period of time and then the cycle begins again. I am connected to my network wirelessly and I have Internet acces (according to the symbol at the bottom right) bu the Internet doesn't work. At the moment it keeps fluctuating between giving me interne and not I am using Skype to tell me if I have Internet ( when it's green I do when it's grey I don't) I have tried many things on forums like obtaining ip automatically or obtaining a fixed ip. I've tried renewing the ip and all this doesnt work.

My Dell laptop, iPhone, and iPad can all connect to my wireless internet. Recently my desktop showed "Connected" with strong signal strength but "No Internet access" and I haven't been able to connect since. I've run a complete virus scan (Mcafee) and nothing was found. I've done the reboot of the router, modem and computer, waiting 30 seconds, etc. with no success. But since the other devices can connect I have to assume it's something with the desktop

I have an older computer (hp compaq) that was wiped clean and windows xp professional (version 2002 service pack 3), Internet explorer and Microsoft were installed. I took the USB wireless adapter (belkin 54g usb network adapter, which stills works on my old computer) and installed onto the new one. It shows good strength but is limited or no connectivity and will not allow any Internet access. ipcong/renew, win socket commands and all my settings are correct.

Three computers (two laptops - both XP, one desktop - XP) suddenly couldn't access the Internet through LAN (the Local Area Connection icon always stays disconnected with the three computers) after working perfectly fine for months. The thing is one desktop computer - XP still can connect through LAN and the wireless connection is still working. So I don't know if the problem is with the computers who can't connect through LAN or the router itself, a LINKSYS WRT54G.

so I have this problem, the internet only work on one computer, whenever I connect to another computer it says something like: " Can't connect to IP 2, 3, 4 etc. I've tried resetting the modem, router and everything, it didn't work... I recently deleted an account off of my computer, it was just the account I didn't use that had no password, it was not the admin or administrator account. So I deleted it, and went to bed, I woke up the next day and my computer was just finishing installing an update, after it restarted my internet does not work and it has the yellow caution triangle over top. I troubleshooted, and got the message "windows could not automatically detect proxy settings"When I open network and sharing center it would say "identifying" forever and not identify I guess.The weird thing is, my sisters computer and my old computer can connect to the internet fine. I tried bringing my computer next to the router/modem(not sure of the difference) and i plugged the ethernet cord directly into the modem/router into my computer, and it's the same thing. The most annoying thing is that i cannot do a system restore as i have not set it up before hand.(yes i know that is a very novice mistake

I ran driver verifier and when I rebooted for it to start verifying the Internet didn't work. I thought it was a driver verifier problem so I turned off it and I still had the Internet problem. I tried going back using system restore and I still have the problem. Screen shots are attached.
