I have a problem with my computer connections.When I plug in a network cable to access LAN, a wireless Internet connection gets disconnected.When I unplug the cable internet connection through wireless comes up.Some computers can support both connections cable for LAN and wireless for Internet.Other computers do not support both connections.

4 iphone with assigned ip address;
3 Portable PC (2 with dhcp and N band, 1 with assigned ip with G band)
Router is not too far from wifi equipment
the wifi is protected with WPA-PSK
Often during day, on pc and iphone we have lost connection, we can see in settting the SSID of my wifi lan, but if we try to connect recive message:Unable to connect to casa(casa is my ssid), on router the wifi led is green fix (not blinking) and only after a few minutes or many try wifi return aviable (for all equipments at the same time and the wifi led blinking)If I want quick connection, without attempt, i simply power off router and after power on, the wifi connection begin aviable!
1. changed SSID, very different from other SSID of my neighbors;
2. changed class of ip address (from 192.168.x.x. to 10.16.x.x);
3. wifi with no protection;
4. tried with & without mac address filter;
5. tried with only 1 wifi connection.
Currently have two laptops: one is a MacBook using OS X, the other a Gateway PC running Vista Home Edition. A Dell Inspiron 17R notebook running Windows 7 Home Premium is in process of delivery. Current laptops linked on a home Wi-Fi network with AirPort Express router. Anticipated use of new Dell notebook requires its direct connection to Internet outside of current network configuration. Is it possible to have both accesses available in my setup utilizing my one cable high speed service connection? If so, what are the steps needed to accomplish the required setup?

My laptop wireless suddenly stopped working yesterday ( this has happened before ) so I rang BT for them to mess about with the channels to fix it which usually works but my laptop cant even connect to the internet with the cable plugged in from the hub. Today I tried to setup my sister's laptop with a wireless connection also with Cox Cable. Router is setup correctly and the connection says signal strength is excellent. However, the computer will not connect to the Internet.She has a Motorola Modem which a Cox Tech says he can see the modem so that's ok. I noticed the on the Modem the PC Connectivity light is amber and steady. While I have a different modem with the same company, my PC Connectivity light is green and it blinks from all the Internet activity P.S. All other setting are correct i.e. Obtain IP address automatically, DNS setting, DCHP etc.

Now they say the internet is on but our network wont pick it up. After reading a number of sites it seems our switch to router may be the issue. the switch has all similar ports for network cable connections. the router has an obvious port for the main cable internet connection. I can not figure out if the location of connectors on the gigabyte switch matter in terms of where the switch and router connect to each other. this all worked last week. my other problem is that i have no internet access at the office to troubleshoot this. I dont remember model numbers for the switch and modem. we have 6 computers networked.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have to realize a connection between an 5508 WLC and 3750 switch using one SFP cable. I found on Cisco documentation some reference about two different SFP cables. The first one is CAB-SFP-50CM, but this is used to interconnect two 3560 switches. The second is SFP-H10GB-CU1M. This one has SFP+ transceivers on both ends which I don’t know if are compatible with the standard SFP ports that can be found both on WLC and switch.
My question is if I can use one of these cables in order to connect my devices, or if you know other one piece SFP cables.

On this Tuesday just gone, however, my brother took it upon himself to mess with the router whilst I was out. Apparently, his internet had been down since we'd had a power-cut on the Sunday, (My internet was fine, and always has been and was fully functional after said power-cut), and before then, it'd been going really slow, and sometimes cutting out. Okay, no problem. Now, the the thing is, that morning, I was on my internet, all happy, and when I returned home that evening, my PC wouldn't connect. My PC still refuses to connect, three days on. It's not even picking up that there's something plugged in.the router is actually flashing to say that my PC is plugged in and connected to the router. I know that there is nothing wrong with the modem or what have you, as I linked my laptop up to my PC via a cable earlier today to try and get it online. It's not a virus program problem, either. Like I said, it was working Tuesday morning, nine hours later, I come home, my brother restarted/unplugged the router, and now my PC won't connect. I should also note that he's now had to go wireless via a dongle, and everyone else in the house uses wireless laptops. I can't connect my PC to the internet with a dongle

I have a desktop computer for gaming and a laptop, but when I was assembling my desktop I didn't put in a wireless card thing so i've been able to get internet since by connecting my desktop and laptop (which has wireless) with an Ethernet cable and everything has been fine.Apart from a few days ago when it all stopped working, my laptop works fine as does my desktop but the desktop and laptop can't seem to connect anymore.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had so much old garbage and damage from old viruses I needed to reformat the hard drive and reinstall windows xp from the System OS disk. Computer is up and running now, but I lost a lot of stuff, including my ability to connect to the internet and some drivers. I have cable internet. I downloaded Broadcom advanced control suite and the netxtreme 57xx drivers from the Broadcom site, and installed them with the provided download manager. Nothing seems to be working, the control suite says "No active broadcom network adapters detected in this system"....
note- I've been downloading to a different computer and burning the files to CD, and transferring them to the Dell that way...
whenever I troubleshoot a random internet connection shut off, the diagnostic is "Local Cable Connection 2 Adapter is disabled." Weirdest part is that I am connecting via WiFi.I've had this problem since college freshman year (I am a college junior). It only occurs at school, but the school tried fixing it and "everything" works fine. The internet basically shuts off every hour or so. It's tedious to sign back on and starting this year, I am starting to use a program that requires online internet connectivity for the program to function.

Sometimes it will stay connected for a few minutes and other times it will stay connected for several hours. The only way to get it connected again is to reboot.I have used 2 other routers (D-Link DIR-300 and BT Home Hub 3.0) on the same line and haven't had any disconnection issues with them, so the problem must be a hardware/software fault on this router or I have set it up incorrectly.Judging by a number of posts I found online, there seems to be a general problem with DSL connections dropping on the X2000, especially on earlier firmware versions. I have subsequently upgraded to the latest firmware (Ver.2.0.01 (Build 4)), reset and reconfigured twice, but nothing has worked so far.Unless I can get this working in the next few days I am going to have to return it, which is a shame because the performance of the router is great when it's working!Would someone be able check I have configured the DSL settings on the router correctly?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have been using a WAG320N since January. Around a week ago I came home to find the unit attempting to reconnect every few minutes - the DSL light flashing but nothing happening.
I replaced with an old Belkin unit which worked fine straight away.
i have upgraded the firmware, which made no difference, and secondly, tried a brand new unit, which strangly had the same problem even though the ancient belkin unit works first time and my original cisco unit worked for a couple of months before failing.
Are there any settings that relate to the DSL connection that may have been reset on the original unit? Could this be an issue related to signal quality or anything similar?
the other day i set up a new internet connection and to set it up they sent me a WAG160Nv2 modem router and after hours of trying to get it working the technical support guy told me it cant be set up until the dsl led comes on, so what it being off means/how to get it to turn on?
