View 4 Replies View RelatedThe old syntax that I am much more familiar with has been deprecated. On older IOS it would have been something like static (inside, outside) tcp 209.114.146.122 14033 192.168.30.69 1433 netmask 255.255.255.255 Plus an extended ACL to allow the traffic.I am trying to create a Static PAT to allow a host address to access our Network through an ASA. I have external address 209.114.146.122 that I want to hit the external interface on an obscure port (say 14033) and translate that traffic to an internal host address on port 1433.

However, the problem is, the exe file tries to connect to the local host ip address 127.0.0.1 and i cant change the ip since it's been coded. So, I'm wondering if i can use the device connection (which already has a different ip like 169....) as a local host connection. So whenever it tries to connect to the loopback 127... it automatically connects to the external device.

I have a host that can successfully connect to a PIX 515E (7.x OS) via VPN Client; however, I have no IP routing to the LAN from the remote host. The VPN IP pool works finem,The LAN default gateway is the inside interface on the PIX; the network is flat L2 behind it.The default route on the PIX points out; no other routes are defined,The VPN remote host can be pinged from LAN hosts, but the VPN remote host cannot ping any LAN host, not even the PIX inside interface.

I have been looking all over the place for the answer of how to allow clients on an IPSEC VPN to ping from host to host.
I had a home network with 2 laptops (one XP and one Vista) and 1 desktop (XP) configured through a Lynksys wireless router. There was already a Canon wireless network printer (with the Vista laptop set up as the "host" pc). This Vista laptop had to be on in order to print from any of the other 2 computers on the network. I then added another laptop (this one with Windows 7 64-bit OS) to the same home network (using workgroup), and I can print wirelessly from it in the same way (the older Vista laptop has to be on). The Vista laptop is hardly ever used since adding the new Win 7, and I would like to be able to print without having the Vista laptop on. How would I go about this? Do I have to delete the printer from the Vista laptop and re-install on the Win 7? It seems like there should be a way to let the router be the "print server," but I have no idea how to accomplish this. The WLAN settings on the printer all indicate the proper router settings from the initial setup. The printer is a Canon MX860.

The 192.168.1.0/24 network contains some hosts that ip can not be changed. We want redesign the network and communicate with both networks without routers. I thougnt about changing the netmask for 192.168.1.0/24 in 192.168.1.0/22 (1022 hosts) and change IP's in the 10.0.0.0/24 network in 192.168.2.0/22.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to connect my home computer to a Cisco RV110W via host-to-network VPN. I'm on a mac using VPN Tracker 6. The Cisco router replaced sonic wall, and no one knew how to set it up, including me. VPN worked fine with sonic wall. I'm not sure configurations are correct in the router. I have:
WAN IP address (static IP address assigned by Verizon)
IP Address for PPTP server: 10.10.10.1
IP Address for PPTP Clients: 10.10.10.101/105 (actually we have a range of 101 to 120, but the PPTP configuration page won't allow me to manually input 120)
MPPE Encryption enabled
NetBIOS enabled
two PPTP users created with protocol PPTP
I'm not sure if my IP Address for PPTP Clients is correct, but he IP Address for PPTP Server matches the LAN IP address. This is correct, right? Because the router was set up by someone who was basically figuring it out, I'm not sure whether there are other configuration in the router that should be made to enable VPN connections. My VPN connection doesn't make it through phase 1 -- doesn't get to the point where it asks for a preshared key, so it's getting hung up very early in the process. I've made sure the IKE and VPN policy table configurations match what I have in the VPN Tracker 6 advanced configurations.
