Are you able to connect to the internet through wireless?
I tried all the steps mentioned in this thread, but its not working. I've windows 7 home premium on dell studio 1555 with 4 gb ram and 320 gb hdd.
I've a Dell studio 1555, windows home premium, 4 gb ram, 320gb hdd. Till yesterday everything was fine, all of a sudden my laptop stopped connecting to internet through wireless.I have tried it in safe mode. I have tried to delete the network also but now that left me with inputting the password everytime I want to connect. Its showing all the networks available, and it shows connected. but there is a triangle on the signal. When i disconnect and connect it again, then i get an error saying "windows cannot conenct to wireless network". When i click on the Trouble shoot problems, its showing below

But still it won't connect to the network. i've been searching in the internet for solution but couldn't find it. In a couple of tech forums people posted same problem for Dell studio 1555. But there is no solution. I think it has something to do with this model? I've been using it for past 3 years without many problems(except my mike is stuck with only yahoo messenger and won't work on skype/gtalk etc)I tried to download drivers from dell and install, but it gives error saying "This software package cannot be installed on your system. Setup will now exit."
I tried removing the drivers and then rebooted the system. The drivers were then automatically installed by the windows again. I went to Intel website and it downloaded a tool to my pc to check for old drivers and it found out my adapter was not having new drivers so I downloaded the drivers from there, installed them but its still the sameThis is my wireless adapter. I have a Dell Studio 1555 and normally my wireless connection works perfectly. It runs on Vista and I bought it in August 2009. Just recently I went to a friends house, and my wireless detected their router, but where normally it shows connection signal bars, it showed a red 'X' and wouldn't allow me to connect. It wasn't their router because their wireless on their computers were connecting to it fine. Then I went back to my house, my wireless was working fine, and connected automatically right away. The next weekend I went to my parents' house, where I have brought my computer and was able to connect to their wireless countless times in the past, did the same exact thing as when I was at my friends' house. Normally it will detect their router by their name because that is what they have it set at, but now it can only detect it as linksys. And it will not connect. I have no idea what to do because as soon as I go back to my house, my computer is able to connect to my wireless

I have a Studio 1555 64bit running on Windows 7, within the past few weeks, my wireless connection sporadically turns off, the wireless router is ok, I can connect wifi to my phone. My computer does not recognize any wireless networks, although there are several in the neighborhood. Sometimes it randomly comes on.

Wireless again the speed dropped to 12 MBit. Checked the wireless connection with another laptop and it went up again to 70 Mbit. What could be wrong on the Studio 1555?

The card works but the 12 Mbit should be at least 60 Mbit.
I have Dell Studio 1555 model laptop. Earlier I was using Windows 7 Home premium 64 bit. Dell(TM) Wireless 370 Bluetooth Module was installed and It was working fine. Recently I installed Windows 8 Pro. Since then Bluetooth is not working. I don't know which driver to install.

All desktops and laptops in my house which are windows based are unable to connect to the internet, only the apple based ones are connecting fine. My problem is similar to the one craigs248 posted here [url]... I did have mcafee for my dell but i have turned it off and yet im still unable to access the internet, furthermore all the other windows- based desktops in my household are unable to connect to the internet.
Mine studio 1555 with intel core 2 duo P8700 [URL] processor and intel wifi 5100 agn card stopped connecting to router since last week. After searching a lot I found out that the Intel has stopped supporting 5100 for windows 8. Is there any way possible to use the same adapter with compatibility drivers on windows 8?? I have searched a lot but couldn't find much. All the new intel cards like "Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2200", n6300 are of 22nm while my processor is of 45nm. So will the newer card work with my processor.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am probably missing something so obvious, but I have been working on it for three days. I received a new modem DSL 2750B and have it LAN wired to my Dell Studio 1555. I asked my techy step son to hook it up to wireless while I was away. He could not do it and worked with Verizon to create a home network changing the SSID and WPA Key. They spent about a hour together on line and could not get the wireless to work and Verizon said its a problem with the Studio 1555.
So, I have been working on it since and can not fix it. The Studio is out of warranty and I have Windows 7 Home Edition. I spent a day and a half to finally get the Function F2 button to work and turn on wireless. This was only possible after downloading the Dell Quick Set and now the Radio On button shows in my Windows Mobility display. I checked my BIOS and Radio, WiFI, and WAN are all enabled.
When I boot up I can see the wireless network showing as available and at excellent strength. I click it to connect and it fails authentication. I ping the router at 192.168.1.1 and it shows both wired LAN and wireless LAN connected. So, I go to Wireless and go through the push button method of signing on to the router, pressing the WPS button on the router. It "spins" for 120 seconds and says fails enrollment.
I am thinking that I should have my laptop and router all reset and eliminate the network Verizon and my step son set up. This would give me a clean start and I can use the SSID and WPA key that came with the router..but, I'm not sure that is it or am I missing something else.

In reviewingmy Network Adapters I found both the “Microsoft Virtual WIFI Miniport Adapter”,and a “DW1525 (802.11n) WLAN PCIe Card” Status indicated they were not workingproperly.
Iwas able to visit the DELL website and reinstalled both the Microsoft VirtualWIFI Miniport Adapter and the DW1525 WLAN Card. Now they both indicted thatthey ARE working properly. I also located two Antennae’s that came with theDesk top and I installed them on the machine.
HoweverI still cannot get a Wireless connection to the Router and I currently have thecomputer sitting merely 3 feet from the Router. I continue to receive an “Unableto Connect Prompt”.
My laptop will not connect to the internet although it shows in the task bar that it is connected to my home WIFI network.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble connecting to my wireless network sometimes it shows up sometimes it does not but when it is there it sometimes has full bars and others has none. I have tried resolving the the issues through windows and it either says windows cannot resolve your wireless connectivity issue or it says to unplug router for 10 seconds blah blah blah. sometimes it says there is an issue at the access point or wireless adapter. It is really getting frustrating and everything else that is wireless works in my house. I have a dell studio 1745 and windows 7 on it.

My computer got a virus and I had to re-install everything. Now my Bluetooth is unable to detect any bluetooth devices. I have the latest driver for the Dell Wireless Bluetoothe 365 module. When installing it says that it is looking for bluetooth devices but none are discoverable even though I have a Microsoft Bluetooth notebook 5000 mouse and a smartphone with bluetooth that are in discovery mode.I know the devices are discoverable because they are discovered on my wife's computer which is also a studio 1440.

Last year all of a sudden my wireless internet stopped working and had to use a cable to connect to my router. A few months went by and i randomly got my wireless internet connection back for about 2-3 months now all of a sudden my wireless is out again. i ran tests in other threads posted on this subject and the only way they got it to work was to buy a usb connection. is this the only way im going to be able to get wireless back?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've got a Studio 15 Dell with the 365 bluetooth module running win7 64-bit and I'm using it with my iPhone for internet tethering / mobile broadband.
The iPhone 3GS is paired with the laptop just fine and no errors and can connect and use the internet tethering. The problem I have is that it takes about 5 minutes before I get the option to Connect to the Access Point.
It doesn't matter if I turn bluetooth on/off on the iPhone, reboot the iphone or turn the bluetooth adapter on / off on the laptop. I try refreshing, I try forcing the pairing from the iPhone interface and so on.
I have the dell configured to allow the iPhone to always connect without prior authentication or extra approval.
Nothing seems to make a difference other than to sit around and wait 3-5 minutes and then all of sudden I get the option to Connect to the Access Point.
I have a Dell Studio Laptop 1558. I recently reinstalled Widows 7 and then the drivers. I'm pretty sure I installed them in the wrong order. So how do I go about fixing that? Like I said I can't connect to any wireless networks. The networks don't even show up(I live in an apartment complex so usually I have a whole bunch of networks listed). I can only use the Ethernet cord to get online. I know the wireless works because my roomate can connect to the wireless internet.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am having problems connecting to the internet. I've tried changing my security from WPA to WEP and back again. I've searched these forums for a solution and nothing has worked. I've changed my antenna output to Aux from Auto as one thread suggested, but no luck.
For a time, I could connect to my wireless BT Home Hub 2, but the range was pathetic (about 4 metres). I've tried connecting to my partners home wireless connection, and again, same problem. Now the connection is virtually nothing. If I am lucky enough to get a connection then it will be poor and usually fail within 2 minutes.

I have a Studio Xps435MT connected to the internet through a 2Wire DSL modum using an ethernet cable. Installed a new hard drive last week after drive failure, Reinstalled Dell drivers and utilities using disc, then operating system, software, updated drivers, installed SP2.
Internet connection worked fine since then. Yesterday and from then on, Windows and modum will not recognize network adapters so not internet availability although device manager shows them working. Modum does work with my laptop so I can access internet through that.
Network and sharing shows unidentified network and limited connectivity IPv4 and 6, on IPv4 no default gateway or DNS server identified, no IPv6 gateway. Tried reinstalling modum but shows no network adapters identified.
Windows system info shows that intel 82567LF 2GB connection installed and reset today, default IP gateway not available.
A while ago I had to take my laptop in to have it formatted and reinstalled after I had picked up a virus. I use the internal modem behind the battery where you insert the card, if I insert an external dongle using the same sim card it seems to work just fine. Before the reinstall it was just fine, connection speed was great 3g etc, now it is slower than an old 56k dial up (no kidding) I have asked the company where I bought it, but they cant find the problem. Is there a setting or update etc that I need?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy daughters Studio 17 laptop lost all internet connectivity. Wired and Wireless. I have been searching all kinds of threads but don't seem to find a solution to this issue. I have done two systems recoveries to earlier dates when we know it was working to no avail. I have 3 other computers on this network and none are experiencing any issues. I did just change from DSL to cable broadband, but the computer was fine until Monday night. Not sure what is going on. Does a system recovery will undo Windows updates? The most recent updates took place on 1/4/2012, which is about the time the problem showed up. I am going to uninstall those updates, 2 Security Update for Windows, and see what happens. Stand by. No good. It didn't work. I see a lot of people who are having the same problem here recently so something must have changed.

I have a dell studio 1557 running windows 7. I live in my own apartment with roommates in college, and i've been having some very bad issues with slow internet or constant down time. Here are some key points:
- I have Charter internet.
- My 2 other roommates have NO ISSUES.
- My laptop works in my family's house. They have Comcast. I went on vacation a week ago and there were no issues on the hotel internet. No issues from the school's internet.
- I have been using my android phone as a tether because the internet is more stable. It's slow, but consistent for the most part. This is extra frustrating because I shouldnt have slow internet. And I sure as hell shouldnt be paying for internet I can't even enjoy.
- Charter has replaced 2 routers. Both are brand new. They are net gear. Charter is clueless to my problem.
- I have reinstalled windows. Dell told me to try safe mode. I noticed NO ISSUES WITH STANDARD BROWSING IN SAFE MODE. This leads me to believe it is a software issue.
- The connection is non-existent when coming out of hibernation or rebooting. In the morning, i have to boot up, make my coffee, and only then will it give me access to the internet. Otherwise, page timeouts. It can take up to 10 minutes for the internet to work.
- Youtube and general multitasking is very bad. Slower connection than ever, page timeouts, and I often need to wait for a video/music to buffer before I begin enjoying it.
My laptop has been this way for upwards of 6 months.
I've Studio 1555 with Factory default Windows Vista, I am using connectify software for internet sharing to other laptops, but from few days, it is not working...I reinstalled it again,Updated my wifi drivers from vendor's site, even restored my windows to earlier restore point, also I set up my own windows ad-hoc network, but this ad-hoc created network or the connectify created network, both are not found on nearby laptop's network search..my wifi adapter stopped broadcasting..although I can connect to ad-hoc or some other network

I have tried everything I know of. Uninstalled/Reinstalled the driver - I have an Intel 5100 AGN wireless driver installed. I disabled and enabled it. Didn't work. Running command prompt and typing in ipconfig /all doesn't detect my adapter device.
I also did these by running command prompt as an administrator: [code] and restarted my computer. I have a Dell Studio 1555 with Win 7 (32-bit) Professional. I know this is a problem with my Windows as the wireless works seamlessly in my Ubuntu.

I turned it on today and it automatically connected to my home network as usual and when I hover over the network icon it says there is Internet Access but when I open Firefox it can not connect to any websites. When I run the automatic troubleshooter, it does not detect any problems with the connectivity.

Now that the wireless on my Dell XPS 15 Z is fine, I've run into some problems with internet connectivity with Ethernet cable. Since the beginning, I wasn't able to connect to it through cable. When I connect my laptop with the cable, it says that it's connected, and that it has an internet connection. However, I can't get on it... My browsers don't have internet, and other programs can't connect either. (that while it says that it's connected to internet, quite strange)... I was thinking of some security adjustment that might block the internet connection or something, I don't know.
Oh, something that I should mention... I was able to get internet through Ethernet cable when there was a firewall... But when there's no security to the network... It isn't possible to have internet and it gives the situation described above. (any other laptop can connect with the network, so there must be some adjustment issue...)
I have a Inspiron 8000 and I just formatted the hard drive. I had been using a D-link wireless USB adapter with a D-Link wireless router - with no problems, but now when I try to reinstall the usb wireless adapter it asks for a hard wired connection to the router and even then it won't install and will not connect wirelessly or with the network cable. it seems the internal Dell network adapter has been affected in some way and will not work - as you can see I don't have alot of pc savy..?
