Desktop Wifi Will Not Enable

I recently bought a USB Adapter for my desktop. I tested it on my laptop (with the Wi-Fi off), and it works perfectly, but for some reason, my wireless network is disabled on my desktop and right clicking it to enable it will not enable it. Under "change adapter settings", the "wireless network connection" icon is continually grayed out. There isn't a problem with the adapter itself, as it works fine on my laptop.Here are the things I have tried already:
1. Installing the adapter in safe mode
2. Disabling firewall and uninstalling antivrius
3. Checking if the hardware and device is working perfectly
Is there any way to enable the wireless network connection?

My Win 7 shows 2 network adapters in device manager...in my Acer ao 722 net book. My desktop has XP and only shows one adapter..I believe one of the adapters in the Acer net book is wireless ( being a new machine ) and the desktop is an older pc with a wired adapter. Could i copy the wireless adapter and paste it into my Desktop, to enable wireless connections? Obviously, we are not talking about actual cards, they are all integrated into the Motherboard.

I have tried everything! My wifi disabled itself some how, i have a toshiba satellite and the fn f8 button is no longer there to turn my wifi on and off. I tried reinstalling the driver it didnt work. Its up to date. I also tried to restore my computer back to the last time it worked and that didn't work. I tried starting it in safe mode with networking and that didn't work. I can connect to the internet but through a wire.

I have been trying to enable the Smart WiFi account for my EA6500 router. I have gone online and established a Smart WiFi account but am unable to associate my EA6500 with the account. The problem is: My Vista laptop cannot find the Wi-Fi hotspot I just create, although it appears on my XP desktop.If I used the included software to make my adapter as a Router, my Vista laptop can find the network and can connect to it. The problem is the internet connection always shows 'Identifying IP address' and later on it shows 'Unidentified IP address'.I also tried to hook up my laptop with the wire connection and using Vista to do the vice versa. (I did this before once when my friends and I went to Vegas and we were able to turn my laptop into a wi-fi hotspot through the hotel's wire internet). I'm able to setup a wi-fi network but:
+ Using the Wireless Connections of Windows XP, my desktop cannot find the hotspot.
+ Using the included software with the adapter, I can connect to the wifi network, but it's unable to go to Internet.

I have a laptop and a desktop I want to use while there. I know the laptop will work, but I'm not sure about the desktop. I have a wireless network now but my desktop is hard wired via ethernet to the wireless router. I have DSL service now through my ISP. My question I guess is do I have to have a land line at my new location to connect my desktop to the internet or is the wireless technology built in and the ethernet cable is superfluous? I hooked up everything myself for my home network but just followed directions, so I have no clue what everything does. I just wondered about the desktop being able to connect to the internet. My neighbour n myself are using a shared internet connection. The modem is situated in his house and I have connected to that modem using a LAN cable, which comes to my house. That LAN cable goes into my WiFi router (through which I use the internet connection). I use a Lap and my neighbour a Desktop, he's receiving a "IP address conflict error" in his system, due to which his internet connection is getting disrupted. If I don't use my Wifi router and connect directly through the LAN cable he does not face any problem. But I need my router back?

I'm setting up Blast! Comcast/Xfinity internet (50mb/s) using an SB6120 modem and a linksys E3000 router. I haven't done anything yet, as i haven't received the modem in the mail yet, but i want to be prepared and knowledgeable when it all arrives. Here are my questions I've heard that running this router/modem setup on the N band at 5Ghz provides the best signal strength. How do i configure this? The main goal is to take advantage of as much of the 50mb/s as i can (i know this number is not practical due to overhead estimations etc).My newly built desktop has one free PCI-E slot (the other is occupied by my EVGA GTX 670) and 1 or 2 PCI slots. What's the best option to give my desktop wifi capabilities (pci card or usb adapter) in order to maximize signal strength? I'm about 10 feet away from the router, a door separates the computer from the router.

I have a wifi dongle with signal enhancement on my desk top computer. I get a message that I am connected with a signal strength of 67%. However, I cannot get any website to open. The router is working for 3 other computers further away than mine. It was working but just stopped a couple of days ago. I am about 25ft away in a straight line.

Well i am currently using a BSNL DNA A211-1 wifi modem-cum-router with a wireline inbetween my PC (win7 ultm) & the router, so as to connect to the internet. i use the wifi feature of my router to connect my samsung gts5570 wifi enabled phone as well as a few other wifi enabled devices, to use internet on them. now i was thinking whether i can connect my desktop pc to my mobile phone using this wifi router somehow? how can that be done since there is already 2 different network that exist between my pc & router thru wireline & my mobile & the router thru wifi, all i need is a way to sync these to networks into one, so that my pc & my mobile use internet & at the same time they connect to each other as well.
