Just installed my new 8960 and it's working fine. However, I'd like to disable admin access from wireless, and only have that available via the LAN. I can't find anything that looks like it'll do that in any of the setup pages, is it possible? All previous wireless routers I've had have been able to do this.

May 13, 2013I have ASA5505 as my main router (192.168.15.1) and it currently it also serves as DHCP server. I have a WNDR3700 (192.168.15.2) which work as an access point and it provide wireless access for wireless devices. I have few dhcp clients where i can't setup static IP, and i want to restrict them to use static IP through MAC reservation.
1. Make ASA5505 to do the MAC reservation f, which will be easy setup for me. But as per my search its not possible.
2. Disable dhcp on ASA and enable dhcp on my WNDR3700. i tired this and dhcp clients are getting IP from wndr3700, but the problem is dhcp clients gateway defaults to 192.168.15.2 (as well as dns) and therefore no internet connection.

Oct 3, 2011I received WAP4410N-G5 AP with 2.0.2.1 firmware and set up it very easily. Never experienced a single signal drop in a few days.
After updating firmware to 2.0.4.2 version I am completly unable to make any changes! If I press on "Enable" or "Disable" all settings will be lost after I apply them and neither "Enabled" nor "Disabled" is selected.
Had to revert back to 2.0.2.1. Is my AP faulty?

I need to monitor it through an OPC server and right now what i am doing is as follows: i am using Kepserver and i have added SNMP driver in it for that purpose i am not a networking expert but what i have learnt till now is that SNMP agent (that resides in switch) delivers the status of MIBs to SNMP manager ( which in my case is kepserver (opc server)) for the above purpose i am adding IF-MIB to monitor OID 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.8 (which shows port statuses) but when i add that in OPC server then it indicated that this OID is not available in the Switch ( it might be disabled) so i need to ask if there is any way to enable OID's in a switch,

Can't Disable Wifi?
Jan 23, 2012I use windows xp and a BT home hub 2.0, i had my wifi set up so i could enable and disable wifi at my leisure. However every now and then i don't get the option to disable the wifi, so i normally have to reset my default admin password and enter my own password to eventually re use the enable/disabled option. But now i can't even do that so i'm stuck with permanent wifi. I did briefly manage to get the disable/enable option back by reset hub to factory settings but now it has gone again. What can i do? On my home network page where it reads devices currently connected to your BT home hub it has no devices detected for wireless.

May 4, 2011I have tried everything! My wifi disabled itself some how, i have a toshiba satellite and the fn f8 button is no longer there to turn my wifi on and off. I tried reinstalling the driver it didnt work. Its up to date. I also tried to restore my computer back to the last time it worked and that didn't work. I tried starting it in safe mode with networking and that didn't work. I can connect to the internet but through a wire.

Sep 19, 2010I've had my DIR-615 up for several months, and it's been faultless except for one thing. I have router in front of it and only use the 615 as a switch and AP. My main router provides IPv6 access through a 6to4, using radvd to broadcast to the rest of the network.
Whatever setting I set the 615 to for IPv6, it always sends out a default route. On rare occasion, it'll interfere with the correct route from my main router (whose router preference is set to high, instead of medium). Even in local-only mode, the 615 sends out a default route. It's an E1 with the 5.00NA firmware, which I believe is the latest.
I'd really like to disable the advertisements from the 615 altogether, while keeping L2 IPv6 support on the wireless and all. I picked this router explicitly because many routers don't work with IPv6 over WiFi, but it'd be nice to get it working perfectly. If there aren't any ways to do this, is there a place that I can download the source for the firmware?
