I had to unplug my belkin router and get a new modem from my cable company and lost the piece of paper that comes with the router when you buy it saying your name and ssid code. what can i do to get a new one?

I connected the Router to the modem, and all the wired connected PCs were working perfectly.But then, i went to the setup page to configure the Wireless settings, and as soon I changed the SSID name, the connection internet connection droppedThe only way i had to fix this was by making a Hard Reset.after that, I also tryed changing values and settings from all the configuration tabs, and the wired connection was working properly, but as soon i changed any value from the Wireless tab, the internet connection dropped (even, in the diagnostics section, i could not do a ping to google. It says unknown host).
I lost the WEP key for my Belkin N+ wireless router.I bought a new wireless printer and cannot connect it through the router without the WEP key.How can I get the WEP key #.

When this happens, it affects it's wifi. All the devices in my house couldn't connect via wireless to this router. When I attempt to enter any sort of IP addresses,default Belkins and ones I see when viewing ipconfig, all it does is perform a Google Search with the numbers.Again, turning on wireless on my laptop and phone fail to find my router, which used to just be called "Belkin".Here is all the info that I believe you need:

View 1 Replies View RelatedAbout 2 years ago I bought my first laptop and the person I was with recommended my purchasing of a Belkin router. I bought the router, it worked great until this past summer when suddenly whenever somebody called my house phone, my connection was dropped. I was angry cause naturally I have those family members that want to call and talk on the phone with my mother for hours. Eventually I figured out I could work about the problem by hooking the Ethernet cord on my Westel directly to my laptop. Its a temporary fix though in my opinion because this requires me having to sit on the floor against my bed room door and this isn't comfortable, not to mention its also confining, I miss walking around the house with my laptop. Anyway this past weekend I decided to try buying a new Belking N300. This however didn't solve the problem, I still got my signal dropped whenever somebody called the house.

I have buildings geographically dispersed that are configured with multiple vlans in interface groups so that I can maintain an addressing scheme of dhcp assigned addresses per building. Each building is also further grouped as AP groups. I'd like to know if by assigning the same wlan ssid to each of the AP groups, will I maintain addressing integrity for each building? I'm thinking it will work.
Do the buildings have to be outside AP range of each other to avoid problems?

I just reset my router to the factory settings in order to make some changes to it. However, when I tried to change the SSID to a unique name, I was unable to connect my computer to the wireless network. I then reset my security settings and left the SSID to the default name "linksys_SES_54125" and it is working just fine. I tried to connect with two separate computers both running Windows 7. My router is the WRT54G v8
why I wouldn't be able to connect to my wireless network when I change the SSID?

When I try to connect to my router through my phone the SSID appears as belkin.2lc and it won't connect but says authorizing then disconnected. The weird thing is that my laptop and all my roommates laptops and my Xbox can all see the routers real SSID and connect.just fine. I've tried restarting the router and my phone. I've also checked my router settings and made sure their is no MAC address enabled.

Both floors have network wall sockets ready and they all lead to the same modem/router so all devices plugged lead to the same network.
PS. both E3200 have been update to Firmware Version: 1.0.03

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just purchased an E4200 and got it up & running. Everything was fine, until I connected a Wi-Fi DVD player to it. I followed the DVD player procedure, which was to push the WPS button on the router, and then the appropriate button on the DVD player. After a few seconds, the player connected, and I successfully accessed YouTube through it.
So far, so good -- except that it turns out that the router, on its own, changed the SSID and password. When I could not get Wi-Fi access on my iPhone, I checked the Wi-Fi settings, and instead of the original SSID of the E4200 -- let's say ShadeTree -- it was changed to Cisco_WPS_xxxxx (the X's represent numbers). I started Cisco Connect, and a screen came up showing that the password had been changed from the original, and listed both the original and new passwords.
What is going on? Why would the E4200 change the SSID and password all by itself, when I connected a Wi-Fi equipped DVD player with WPS? Is this going to happen when I connect a Wi-Fi equipped TV set, or some other component? What can I do to keep the E4200 from changing the network name and password all by itself? Or am I going to have to re-program every other Wi-Fi device (iPad, iPhone, etc.) every time I add a new component?
