View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm facing a problem on vWLC. I configured the vWLC and Aironet 1252, I created 2 SSID with below settings.
1. WPA2 Auth 802.1X
2. Web-Auth
Inside Wireless, I configured this AP Mode as "Local", but all of the client device such as iPhone, Laptop can't find these SSID.
this might sound straight forward, but every other pc or console can find and connect to my router. This issue seems to happen about once every few months, sometimes it comes back by itself and reconnects completely fine.
There isn't a "user limit" on our router.Wireless adapter is dell wireless 1505 draft 802.11n wlan mini-card.
Have restarted PC and uninstalled and reinstalled the card.I tried to set the i.p address to static but it says "adapter disconnected" so won't allow me to edit any settings, despite it being able to find neighbour's wireless very easily.
Is it possible to assign a single ssid to multiple interface groups by assigning the ssid to multiple AP groups?
I have buildings geographically dispersed that are configured with multiple vlans in interface groups so that I can maintain an addressing scheme of dhcp assigned addresses per building. Each building is also further grouped as AP groups. I'd like to know if by assigning the same wlan ssid to each of the AP groups, will I maintain addressing integrity for each building? I'm thinking it will work.
Do the buildings have to be outside AP range of each other to avoid problems?
5508 controller
7.2.110.0 code
6 buildings
6 interface groups
1 ssid
I just reset my router to the factory settings in order to make some changes to it. However, when I tried to change the SSID to a unique name, I was unable to connect my computer to the wireless network. I then reset my security settings and left the SSID to the default name "linksys_SES_54125" and it is working just fine. I tried to connect with two separate computers both running Windows 7. My router is the WRT54G v8
why I wouldn't be able to connect to my wireless network when I change the SSID?
Is the ssid the same as the security key for router

We already have a WatchGuard firewall. We are just looking to provide visitors and staff wireless access. We want visitors to only be able to access the internet, but we want staff to be able to access the corporate network as if they were plugged in via Ethernet. (RADIUS - AD authentication).

View 6 Replies View RelatedThe router is a N Wireless Router. When I try to connect to my router through my phone the SSID appears as belkin.2lc and it won't connect but says authorizing then disconnected. The weird thing is that my laptop and all my roommates laptops and my Xbox can all see the routers real SSID and connect.just fine. I've tried restarting the router and my phone. I've also checked my router settings and made sure their is no MAC address enabled.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHouse has 2 floors. I want to install 2 E3200, one on each floor, but both with the same SSID/Password, etc. so internet connection/streaming throughout the floor is seamless.
Both floors have network wall sockets ready and they all lead to the same modem/router so all devices plugged lead to the same network.
PS. both E3200 have been update to Firmware Version: 1.0.03
I will soon upgrade my wireless network from a WRT610N to an E4200v2. At setup of the router, I assume I'll be able to change the SSID of the E4200v2 and I plan to keep the same SSID as on my old router. With the same SSID as currently seen by the devices on my network
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have more than 5000 sq. ft home and have some dead places other end of the house. Now I am looking for Range Extender/Repeater to boost signal. My primary wireless router is Motorola Surfboard SBG6580 and Secondary Linksys E3000 (planning to update firmware to DD-WRT). So I wanted something such that I can roam between the two routers without switching SSID (use single SSID name for primary and secondary DD-WRT routers) and connect automatically to whichever the best signal (or) strength router. In work place we have same thing like that single wireless SSID name which automatically connect wireless SSID from one end to another end of the building.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSSID is not being broadcast from an e3200. I split the wireless networks and assigned a new name for the 5Ghz band. The broadcast SSID button is enabled for both networks. (2.4 & 5). The idea is I want to stream video on the 5Ghz band. Nothing seems to see it though, TV other PCs, etc.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just purchased an E4200 and got it up & running. Everything was fine, until I connected a Wi-Fi DVD player to it. I followed the DVD player procedure, which was to push the WPS button on the router, and then the appropriate button on the DVD player. After a few seconds, the player connected, and I successfully accessed YouTube through it.
So far, so good -- except that it turns out that the router, on its own, changed the SSID and password. When I could not get Wi-Fi access on my iPhone, I checked the Wi-Fi settings, and instead of the original SSID of the E4200 -- let's say ShadeTree -- it was changed to Cisco_WPS_xxxxx (the X's represent numbers). I started Cisco Connect, and a screen came up showing that the password had been changed from the original, and listed both the original and new passwords.
What is going on? Why would the E4200 change the SSID and password all by itself, when I connected a Wi-Fi equipped DVD player with WPS? Is this going to happen when I connect a Wi-Fi equipped TV set, or some other component? What can I do to keep the E4200 from changing the network name and password all by itself? Or am I going to have to re-program every other Wi-Fi device (iPad, iPhone, etc.) every time I add a new component?
I checked the, do not broadcast SSID in my linksys, now i cant log into the router it is a linksys WRT54GS

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just set up a brand new LinksysE4200 router at one end of my home, and a Linksys RE1000 range expander at the other end in order to provide full WiFi coverage to my entire house. Everything is working great except for one important detail.. There is currently no way to disable SSID broadcast on the RE1000 range expander! I just flashed it with the latest firmware (v1.0.01 build 2, Jul 22, 2011) , but I'm still unable to disable it, even though it is disabled on the E4200 from which it's receiving the signal it's rebroadcasting. I am seriously considering returning the RE1000. Linksys. add the ability to disable SSID broadcast on the RE1000 in a (not too distant) future firmware upgrade! As far as I'm concerend, this is a MUST HAVE feature in order for this product to even be considered for use in any sensitive network environment.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Linksys E2500, and I'm trying to configure multiple SSID's on it. The "guest mode" won't work for me because I want one SSID to use WPA and the other to use WEP, but the option to set different encryption based on the GHz frequency of the connection won't work for me because I only want the WEP one to be used by my Nintendo DS (which doesn't support WPA); I don't want to force ALL devices that don't support 5GHz to use the WEP one!

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've had my E3000 for almost a year now and it's been great - until recently. Latencies have become patchy for some users and most surprisingly, the 5GHz network has stopped using two channels. I did a 30/30/30 reset on it a few minutes ago and re-configured the whole thing. It's set to use 40MHz Only and WPA2 Personal, but speeds at the physical layer are still just 144 Mbps and in the web interface's Status page it clearly says "20 MHz".
Why might this be? It was fine for so long, only to refuse to use two channels now. I've checked what the other wireless networks in my area are like, and none of them are even 5GHz-capable as far as I can tell, so the relevant spectrum shouldn't be overcrowded. It's rather nice to have the two channels for NAS transfers and streaming and such.
After manually specifying a base channel (48 at the moment), it actually kicks into 40MHz. The problem is now that my clients, both using a WUSB600N, are getting "Unable to connect to (SSID)" pretty much instantly after clicking the network in Windows.
I have found that if I do not enable the broadcast SSID option on my 5GHz N network that my devices will forget the network and not reconnect on their own. Yet, I have the 2.4GHz G/N network set up to not broadcast my SSID and I have no problems. Why can't I disable my SSID broadcast on the 5GHz N network without these problems?
View 9 Replies View RelatedEA3500, I'm using the Smart Wi-Fi interface through a browser. How do I make my router broadcast the SSID? Now I feel like I've been all through the menus twice on the Smart Wi-Fi interface, and can't find the on/off toggle.
