View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a linksys WRT54GS2. I forgot my password, so I pushed the little reset button. I reset the router and had to configure it all again. I thought it had it configured, because you can see the router name on the "view networks" page, but it just doesn't connect for some odd reason. What could this reason be? I have my router password protected, and I am sure I typed in the correct password.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a Cisco 877W router that has been running flawlessly for nearly 2 years. During that time I've never had to manually reset the router, it has been more reliable than my ISP.However one month ago I left my business for a week and came back to find that the WLAN was no longer visible from my laptop. I searched google, tech forums, and these forums for conclusive explanations as to what is happening but found nothing. The main issue is an inability to see the network, old wireless devices that have been using the WLAN for a while have no trouble viewing the network or connecting to it.How ever, any time a new device is brought in (Samsung Galaxy Tab, new Laptops, and new Desktops) the WLAN is not available.I was able to make the device visible to my laptop by changing the country code on my network device to Region 1, but this is not an option for all devices or configurations.
I have changed the broadcast channels, shutting down the WLAN, configuring WLAN differently (through several different Security methods). My separate access points are usually visible by all clients, (I use D-LINK wifi routers configured to AP mode throughout my facility) however the Cisco just doesn't like to be seen?
Setting up website blocking. I have set up access restrictions for selected times and days but I also want to set up access restrictions for webistes. Perhaps I'm just not clear on how this is supposed to work - I created a policy called 'Site' and then enter the URL in the website blocking area. The options under the 'Access Restrictions' area are either 'Allow' or 'Deny' - intuitively one would assume the selection should be 'Deny' since this policy is to block access to specific URL's. However, if I click 'Deny' and then save, then the URL's I just entered are cleared. However, if I select 'Allow' then I am essentially giving 24hour access every day to my computers (but blocking the URLs), which then seems to go against the access restrictions I set up for selected times and days. Perhaps these two policies are mutually exclusive but it does not seem clear that it is.

The only problem is that either from the internal network or the guest network I can no longer access the Remote Web Workplace - [URL] or Outlook Web Access [URL] fails with page not found. Internally I can access via \server emote and \serverexchange but of course this does not work for the guest network. We have Small Business Server 2003. External access if fine.
View 0 Replies View RelatedI asked a question recently about accessing camera via a smartphone but I realize that's not really the correct question. The smartphone works fine locally with wifi and has a browser available.
The real question I have is what is the easiest way to access any camera via a browser from a remote location. Years ago tech friend assisted me access my DCS-910 using dyndns.org. It was free and worked great. I guess it went away when they started charging for a basic account.
Is there an easy way to access a camera without using dyndns even if it involves putting in an IP address instead of a convenient domain name? I would just like to see at least one of my cameras in a browser off-site. If I have to pay $20/year for dyndns I can but I would prefer not to if possible.

I entered the right password, and then the connecting status keeps changing back and forth between "Connected" and "Limited access". It also shows "Identifying... no network access" all the time.I really don't know what happened to my laptop's setting. I have tried to remove the wireless network from "Managing Wireless Network" and set it back up again, but it doesn't work at all.

I have an IP camera (foscam). It's connected to my wireless router. My router is connected to my motorola cable modem. My isp is Cox.I want to be able to view this camera from outside (ie: when I'm at work) by going to http://(my real ip) : (port). Port that I use is 88. I can't seem to do this.
First I set the port 88 to the camera's config. I can see the camera when I'm at home (going to 192.168.1.106:88). Reading the manual, I need to forward the port 88. So I go to my linksys wireless router 192.168.1.1 and single-port forward 88 UDP TCP (both) to 192.168.1.106.This doesn't solve the problem.I go to Open Port Check Tool and put in port 88 and it says I could not see your service on (my real ip) on port (88)

View 3 Replies View RelatedHere is what a wired portion of my network looks like:
internet---dsl modem---airport extreme---powerline ethernet adapter****powerline ethernet adapter---5 port switch---(ip camera & ioBridge 204)
The airport extreme is also hardwired to a PC that I use to view the IP camera. The issue I'm having is with the connection to the IP Camera. The connection to the camera worked for a long time, then starting dropping periodically and now it doesn't work at all.The ioBridge connected to the same switch as the camera connects to my network and the internet just fine.
Here's what I've done to troubleshoot: I plugged the camera in to my airport extreme and it worked fine. When I plug my camera into the other end of the powerline ethernet adapters, though, it doesn't work (even though the ioBridge does). I replaced the powerline adapters today (because they had worked before, so I guessed something had fried in them) but the connection still doesn't work.
When I ping the camera (when it's on the other side of powerline adapters and "not working") the response time is around 3ms (good) but there is about a 33% loss rate (bad).I'm guessing it's the loss rate that is keeping it from displaying the video stream on the computer...but I can't think of what changed between when it was working and when it stopped working that would cause it lose packets like that.
I bought a HooToo IP Camera (HT-IP212) to monitor my garden activities from my laptop at home. Everything so far is going as normal as it shall be. The wired connection was fine and is providing steady image and video output. Question 1# is i can't figure out how to configure the wireless section. Shall I set up the DDNS for the Cam as per the instruction? Question 2# Can I monitor my garden using the laptop in my office (not the one in my house), how can i set up the procedure?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI own 2 different Panasonic IP cameras (BL-C30 and BL-C210A), which in the past have been able to FTP captured images to a host (in this case, the UGOLOG service). Upon upgrading my router to the D-Link DIR-655, this ability stopped. I also tried HTTP transfer, and this too is now unsuccessful.I can access these cameras from the internet, so the router is properly opening the ports. In my testing, I was able to FTP directly to the site via browse (ftp://) with no issues at all. The port/userid/password was accepted. On the cameras, I've played with login timing and data transfer method (active/passive), to no avail. The cameras report: Could not connect to FTP server. (panasonic error code: 133 80005008H) and FTP error 426: Connection closed, transfer aborted. On the DIR-655, firmware Version :1.35NA.

I have a business class SMC D3G-BIZ cable modem. Directly connected to it I have surveillance camera. I need getting the correct IP settings so I can access it remotely. I previously was able to do this but the cable modem was recently replaced. The camera software needs a IP Address, subnet mask, and default gateay nformation. I do not currently have a static IP Address. In the camera IP address should I put in the public IP Address of the cable modem or should I create a static IP Address that is on the LAN. such as 10.*.*.*?How can I determine the subnet mask? Do I go to Gateway > Network within the cablem modem menu? The default gateway should be same as the default gateway for the LAN settings in Gateway > Network, right?

-DCS-932L

The best part about these are you just have to plug and view online. But now I am having one problem, the d-link people say that i can only see the video or image on mydlink.com otherwise I have to provide a dedicated IP address to the camera. And I want to view this camera via server IP address. Is there a way that I can configure the camera to my server IP address. If any one has used or know the camera which can be view online via IP, The main thing that I am trying to say is that i will extract the image via server ip and use it accordingly.
I have an ISIS TFS1612 security camera system at my business. I'm looking to view it remotely. But, I can't seem to get it working. I have forwarded all ports that it uses. As well as set up a static external ip address. The modem I have is an Actiontec Q1000 which also acts like my router. There are other things connected to the modem.
