View 1 Replies View RelatedAt home I have been trying to set up this Time Capsule as a Router. url...I am trying to set this up for both Macs and PCs. I have set it up as described in the manual and can now find it on all machines in the house and can connect to it wirelessly. I an also plug it into a desktop and get the same issues. So its not a wireless issue. The issue is here. The computers can get email, POP i believe, but no internet.I cannot ping anywhere, and have tried browsing by names, and IPs to no avail. When I ping google.com it says could not find the url.... Ive also tried Telnet. I tried Telnetting the router IP on port 80 however could not figure out what the IP is. I was looking for the 192.168 etc.

View 3 Replies View RelatedBriefly here is my setup Internet is supplied to my building by ISP(I have no router) => apple time capsule connected by Ethernet.I have used WIFI to connect all of my devices in the past with no problem until i moved into this place. I have 2 macbooks that can connect without any issues Every single other device in the house cannot connect and does not receive a proper IP Address. The ones being assigned are in the 169.xxxxxx range. Even if i plug my Imac (which cant connect) directly in from the wall via ethernet, it wont connect. The time capsule is setup as a bridge with DCHP set to run automatically. I have reset everything numerous times and restored the router to no avail.I called the ISP and they said it wasnt their problem. I was under the impression they werent assigning the IP Address correctly or something.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have set up a home network with Time Capsule as the primary router. I would like to use my WRTG54GL to connect to the network via ethernet and extend it for wireless access at the opposite end of my house. I changed the settings to disable the DHCP server, I named the network the same as the Time Capsule and duplicated security mode and password. I can connect with my laptop, but it initially connects with full internet access, but after about 10 seconds, I can see Airport searching for a network. It reconnects, but for about 45 seconds I have no internet access and then access returns and works fine. On my iPad, however, although it shows I am connected to the network, there is no signal indicator at the top of the screen, and all connectivity seems to be through 3G -- not the network. I assume there is a setting on the Linksys that needs changing, but I can't figure out what it is.
View 10 Replies View Relateda colleague at my university is using an Airport Time Capsule 1TB (Model A1355) to share files with his students wirelessly. The machines are running Leopard 10.5.8 and It works well but it will only allow 20 wireless clients at a time. All the client machines log in with a password. When you remove one of the 20, another can log in.
The tech specs on the Apple website just say that it accepts Wireless guest access and there is no mention of a 20 client limit. I looked right through Airport Utility and couldn't find where the number of wireless clients could be configured.Does anybody know if this is the hard limit for the number of wireless clients for an Airport Time Capsule 1TB (Model A1355)? If it is not a hard limit does anybody know how to change it?
Ok so my dell Inspron desktop has had many internet related issues before, but this time it can't find the local area connection. I have taken the Ethernet cord and plugged it into the laptop im posting on and it works just fine so it is a problem with the computer.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have just recently installed a new router for my home and the ethernet connection stopped showing up. It instead said "no connections available". I figured the onboard network adapter gave out because of the orange light it gave off and bought a NetGear GA311 network adapter. I installed it and updated it, but the connection still says there are none available.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a Time Capsule current generation, as my primary router connected to my ISP. I'm using a Linksys E4200 as my slave router connected to the Time Capsule via lan to lan. I noticed the TC Internet Connection TCP/IP via DHCP shows a Subnet Mask of 255.255.248.0 and the Surewest IP of 74.222.246.23
Is the 248 setting one I will need on the slave?
The TC IP Address is 10.0.1.1 the DHCP Beginning Address is 10.0.1.3 to allow for the slave to have 10.0.1.2.
The E4200 is set as follows on the routers setup page, Internet Section to Automatic DHCP, Network Section to IP 10.0.1.2 Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0 and DHCP is Disabled.
Both routers have a SSID set to the same name.
Are all these settings correct? I've noticed that a device iPhone or iPad etc has a different IP address assigned by the TC depending on which router it is actually connected. I've also noticed difficulty of a device on one router communicating with one on the other.
Im planning to do a LAN for internet/file sharing and of course LAN game There are people that living far from each another like 1 mile away.... thats a problem.Cat5 Ethernet cables are not made for long distance connectivity ( 100 meters of length max, otherwise bad connection). So because i need a connectivity between pc's for long distance I can use Wireless, expensive, and because I prefer wired and I heard that there is a way to convert CAT5 cable into phone line, because phone lines can be used for long distance connectivity without problems. So I wonder if there is a way to do that LAN connectivity using phone lines.RJ45 to phone line, do they exist these adapters? if yes, will this work for me

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy computer is running on Windows 7. It has had no prior internet connection problems. It is wired to my DV-2020 router. My internet suddenly disappeared, as in, it doesn't work anymore. I'm not sure as to when it disappeared due to my personal absence, but from what I heard it was either during 'starting a game' or 'installing firefox add-ons updates'. Internet does work on other computers sharing the same internet (wired and wireless). On the computer that does not have access to internet it gives a "local area connection - No Network Access" and "local area connection - unidentified network." So far I've tried:
A system restore.
Restarting the router (at home as well as the provider)
Changing wiring.
Disabling / Enabling.
Disabling virusscanner.
My local area network connection disappeared from system tray
