Acer X3400 Ethernet Error?

The acer X3400 refurb that I purchased always seemed to have a flaky network connection. Then, I think, it's power strip got turned off while it was running and it no longer connected to any network. The emachine had trouble running from a cold start and I got a pink screen several times, once when loading the nVidia chipset driver from Acer. That's when I shut the ethernet controller off in bios. (From a restart, press Delete during boot, Select Integrated Peripherals, select Onboard Lan Controller, press enter, select Disabled.) This corrected all boot issues so far. Next, I went to Amazon and bought "USB 2.0 to Ethernet Converter" for $8.87. (I know this is a USB2 10/100 bps RJ45 adapter, but reviews do say the Windows 7 drivers are embedded. Also, the emachine's got a couple free USB slots, hehe...feel free to get a better USB network device as needed.) I will report on the outcome of this device, but so far, multiple reboots of the emachine have been flawless. I can't say for sure that there is an an electrical problem with the 9200 nvidia ethernet controller...it's just my opinion. (Love that you loaded Knoppix, that sh$% rocks! Reminds me of using HP-UX, except, for any proc:>), go linux!)

My ethernet connection keeps dropping and the only way to restore connectivity is to restart my laptop. It says "no internet access" and the connection remains even if I remove the cable. If I try disconnecting in Network and Sharing center it just keeps saying "attempting to disconnect".
I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate on an Acer 6930 laptop.

I just got a used Acer AspireOne AOA150 ZG5 Netbook and upon bringing it home, I received a "Limited or No Connectivity" error when attempting to use the internet via wireless. I have another laptop that connects at the same time with no issues. The Netbook DOES work if I hardwire into my home router. I have since taken the Netbook to work and it connects to the wireless there with no issues. So it seems to be an issue specifically with my home router/modem and this Netbook.So far I have flushed my DNS cache, done the Winsock and reset my TCP/IP, removed wireless profiles, and tried the Repair function.None of that has worked. My wireless properties are also set to automatically obtain the IP address.I'm on XP SP3 and it seems like a lot of folks think that it's a SP3 issue, but I don't think so in my case since the wireless is fine in other locations. My hard-drive crashed, and I bought it refurbished, so I never got a Windows disc. I got a hard-drive from a friend, and I am trying to use it with my laptop, but it is missing the Ethernet Controller, Network Controller, and the PCI Controller drivers. I have searched all around, and I can not talk to Acer, for my warranty is past. They just want to repair it.

I have a acer aspire 2930z laptop. My uncle bought it a couple of weeks ago and I finally got my hands on it. But I found out that its internet is not working. When I connect it to my wifi it works fine. But when I cpnnect it to a broadband the net doesn't connect. Man I wanted to use it through boradband as my broadband is faster than my wifi.

and I am missing a few thing's since installing the windows 7 ultimate, the main thing is that the drivers for my Ethernet connection (wired) are now missing! I have searched online and with Acer and have downloaded a zip file FULL of different scary looking programs that don't make sense to me and none are simple enough to say "Ethernet driver for windows 7" .I can't access the interwebs in my OPS room without it being through an Ethernet cable.Here is a screen shot of the Ethernet controller window.

This is a new Acer Aspire 5733Z laptop. A backup was not made. I don't think it was known that there was a restore feature. As such, when the 'auntie' who got the computer began using it, she wound up disabling the entire system with a virus.The entire machine was wiped out. Windows 7 Ultimate was installed, along with Office 2007, Adobe Reader, and the Acer updater (which now indicates 0 updates needed). Auntie does not have wireless internet.
The local area connection reads "Network Cable Unplugged", even though there is an Ethernet cable connected to it and modem in the correct locations. Roadrunner indicates that it's an Acer problem. Acer indicates it's a Windows problem. Both calls cost me 2 hours of my life that I cannot get back. Would I just be better off telling my Auntie to call ISP and have them install a wireless option? I know the wireless works fine, because I am on the machine at home, and there isn't a single issue.
Aside, when I click on the LAC button, I get a box that reads, "This connection uses the following items:", with a list of 'stuff'. If I click on the install button, it asks me the network feature I want installed - client, service, or protocol. I'm not sure which one, and none of them will install anyway, because it's asking for a disc that the laptop box didn't have, since we were supposed to backup the machine to begin with.

I have an Acer aspire one netbook, model D255 which operates on Windows 7.Having trouble connecting to wifi connections. It worked fine initially, I tried turning the wifi switch on and off, it tells me that there are no wifi connections available, however everyone else Is able to connect via Wifi on their computers and myself without a problem on other devices.On troubleshooting it's says - that an Ethernet cable is broken or not plugged in properly, and is unable to fix the problem, as obviously I am not connected via any cable.I looked in network and it says that the Ethernet cable is unplugged and does not show any available networks.

Well I did something stupid (big surprise) and somehow managed to uninstall something related to the ethernet ports. I get code 28 and a yellow question mark with a little yellow circle with a black,Anyways what do I need to do to fix this, attached details from everest. It's probably something as simple as reinstalling the drivers, but buggered if I can figure out which ones I need.

Problem: My PS3 displays An Ethernet cable is not connected almost immediately after logging in. I am connected through a Linksys E2000 router. If I reset the cable modem, it will work for 10-15 minutes until it errors out again. If I plug the PS3 directly into the cable modem, it works fine. I'm really confused. I do not believe it is the router, as my computer is also connected to the router, and works fine. My Touchpad is connected wirelessly and also works fine. I do not believe it is the PS3, because it works fine if I plug it directly into the cable modem. I tried switching to wireless and it finds a lot of other signals (including mine), but I have the same problem if I choose wireless.I first had this problem with a launch PS3 and a Netgear router after almost three years of no problems.

Several 1130AG AP, auto IOS, are showing the same three errors;
1. 'Error' Interface BVI1 Changed to up
2. 'Error' Interface Fast Ethernet0 Changed to up
3. 'Error' Interface Dot11Radio0 Changed to up

Why these interfaces coming 'up' would be an 'error'? Seems almost like hardware failure/s. So we have been investigating on several 1130AGs bought from different places, with different configs and still get the errors. The APs appear to 'work' (i.e. basic config, wireless working, clients assoss., data flows to internet and back through APs) but the error causes the event log to show 'error' and for the status LED to turn 'yellow', instead of 'light green' (light green when working normally and no clients assos).
I have worked with many cisco APs and never ran across these two errors.
At first I thought it was a power issue, as the AP will boot up in low power if it doesnt think it's getting enough power, which could cause the IOS error possibly. But all of our APs are powered by wall plug cisco 48v OEM plugs, no POE injectors or switches. We even changed the settings in power of the IOS to 'pre-compatiable' POE and similar and still recieve the error and yellow LED status light. We looked into this power issue because we wanted to rule out if these was what was producing the errors that were reporting.
The second thing we did was setup the test APs with a very basic config, one ssid, no security, as to rule out a config error and also, no config will make the radios disabled, so without a basic config the APs cant be tested anyway (since the radios are now disabled from default). so we tested very basic configs and still getting the error and yellow LED (which all manuals say it should be light green normally working and no clients). all config changes brought wireless up and we can connect clients and data flows but still the errors stay and yellow LED once all clients disconnect. Note; when clients connect the yellow LED turns to light green, but thats not the colors the manual states they should be which is odd).
Third, a couple engineers suggested this error was from the AP scanning channels to choose the least congested (default config) and it will pick a channel but produce this error still and go yellow. We changed the configs to the least congested channels and it reboots and still gets these errors.
We have tried several IOS software packages, some newer, some older, all auto. though, no LAP.
We googled the errors but could only find ONE post with these errors. Some engineers said these errors are 'normal' and they have seen them before, but theres nothing on the web about the errors and we have owned 20-40 different cisco IOS APs and never seen this, and we have the same issues with 4 1130AGs, all in almost new condition, bought from different places.
Unless you have opened a 1130 many people dont know the status LED is actually 3 LEDs (one assembly with 3 micro LEDs, blue, green and red) that combine in color (the micro LEDs light up in different intensities causing many final color combintations), and the LEDs colors mix together via a plastic light guide on the top to show the status LED, and we believe the error is causing the status LED color to be off because the error is making the yellow light up and mix with the other colors causing all the other colors to be incorrect. we have researched trying to clear the error by 'clear logging' CLI command, hoping that may clear out the interface error and turn the yellow LED off because there would be no log of the error, but we have not succeded.

i'm currently studying at a college which has a website with a student intranet that is available to log in from any computer. So far it has been working well and I can log in on my home laptop and upload documents and look at presentations etc. Today for no reason when I try and log in I get the message Error Code 500: Internal Server Error and the webpage does no appear.I have had no problems previously and this has only happened today and yesterday, I went down to the college and accessed the website fine from the computers in the library but still no joy from my home computer.

I am having a problem with my Realtek RTL8168D/8111D PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC. It is not detecting my ethernet cable, and thus leaving me without internet on my desktop, after i updated its driver. The cable is not the problem as I have tested the cable with my laptop. I tried rolling back drivers, doing system restore and removing drivers with driversweeper and letting windows install the drivers again. However, none of these worked for me. I doubt the NIC is faulty as it was working before i updated the drivers. I am using windows 7 home premium 64-bit.

I curently have 2 Data centers connected with a Metro Ethernet Connection. Each Data Center has 6500 with Sup720s. The Metro Ethernet connection is currently conected by a L3 routed interface. I now need to enable VRFs between the locations and want to determine the best way to adjust the Mero. I was considering adjusting the routed interface to use Ethernet sub-interfaces. Each VRF would be given a different subinterface over the Metro Ethernet connection. I have done this on internal LAN connections but am concerned about exteding across data centers over Metro E.

I've had trouble connecting to my own internet and have no wireless. I'm using my neighbor's wireless and it's really slowing her's down. I've tried restarting my laptop (it usually works) and then reinstalled the device under "device manager". I just got a new Xbox today, and use the integrated WiFi card. I was lagging like Crysis 2 on a 6800 GT (forget it). I just got a CAT .5 cable, and plugged it into modem/xbox and IDK... it works, I'm online, but basically my question is:Does ethernet connections have less ping (better) than wireless connections? I have a Dell XPS M1530 with Vista 32 bit. When i plug in a cable i get nothing, no error, and the comp does not recognize that a cable has been plugged in. I think that this started after my Hard drive failed and Dell replaced it but i'm not positive. No errors (? or !) in Device Manager and I can't find the Marvell 88E80XX 10/100 Ethernet Controller in device manager. I have attempted to Reinstall the drivers. The wireless is still working. I have one Light to the right of the port that is on all the time solid but no flashing with the cable in or out.
