Add Samsung E5500 Blu-ray Player To Access Point Via Ethernet?
Dec 27, 2012
I have set my Linksys WRT120N as an Access Point by connecting it to my primary router via Ethernet. To the Linksys WRT120N I have connected via Ethernet a Samsung BD-E5500 player.Through the Linksys WRT120N Access Point, I am wirelessly able to browse Internet through my cellphone, however, E5500 keeps reporting that while it is connected to the network, it is can not connect to the Internet. The Network Settings is Wired and Auto for IP and DNS.

I have practically NO knowledge of networking! So I've been tearing my hair out trying to get this darn thing sorted but to no avail. So, I've bought a Samsung BD-E5500 blu-ray player which has internet capability either through Ethernet or a Samsung wireless adapter. I am not willing to spend an extra £40-£70 on an adapter and obviously don't relish the idea of running a very long cable to my router upstairs. However the general concensus is that it's possible to take a cable out of the Ethernet and into a wireless AP or router, using it as a bridge to the main wireless router. So I have tried this and failed, of course not having a clue as to what I'm really doing. I have a Netgear ME102 access point which the player can't seem to get on the network with at all and also I have tried using a Belkin F5D7632 wireless router. Now, with the Belkin router the player does say that it can access the network, however it says that it cannot access the internet. The wireless router that I have upstairs is an O2 Wireless Box 3.

I have a Samsung BD-C5500 Blu Ray player and am using the Samsung PC Share Manager software. For some reason, the software is not recognizing the player. However, the player is able to connect to the internet (I stream Netflix). I am running Windows XP service pack 3 and both my BD player and PC are connected to the same router (D-Link 601). IP address for BD player is 192.168.0.102 and PC is 192.168.0.100. BD player firmware is up to date.

I got no code, and as a matter of fact have no Internet connectivity to my Bluray player. When I go to my Bluray setting tab and run a network test the MAC Address checks out but fails when it gets to IP Address. My Bluray is plugged directly into my router and it still shows no Internet connection between the two, even though my x-box 360 has no problem nor does my computer. When looking at my network settings the IP Addresss boxes all have numbers in them, the Subnet Mask boxes two of four boxes have numbers the others are zeros, the Gateway boxes are all zeros, and the DNS Server boxes are all zeros. I read many of the posts in this forum and all problems seem pretty similar to mine.

As the subject says, I've hooked up a Samsung BD player to a BEFSR41 router. The router has the current firmware version. When I run the connection test for the player, the local connection is good but the Internet connection fails and the message is " The HTTP port is disabled."
I've searched high and low for a solution to no avail. I did searches on the forum and couldn't find anything. As a test, I connected the BD player directly to the DSL modem and the Internet connection worked perfectly so it appears that the blockage is within the router.
I've serched through the router setup and have changed most settings to try and find something that would work. Nothing worked so I have returned my setup to its original state.

I have just bought a TP-Link Wireless Access Point (TL-WA&01ND) and an ethernet switcher (TL-SF2005D).I have put the access point into client mode, allowing me to put it in my room and wirelessly connect to my router, allowing me to plug my PC in over ethernet and use the internet. However, after much fiddling with settings I cannot get it to work, as it continually searches for a network, and then fails to connect, despite the fact it is configured to use the network?I already have a similar setup with a netgear wireless G access point which works, and so I dont understand why the new box cannot do this when using what I believe to be the same settings.
Secondly I have an ethernet switch box which I bought to connect to the access point and switch the ethernet signal between my two PCs, my xbox and PC. This works fine with my primary PC (over my old access point) but when I try to connect my PC i get a DNS failure with auto IP settings and a gateway failure with manual settings, and other devices refuse to connect.

after installing Windows 7 Professional on my netbook, there has been a problem. I think it may be a problem with the wireless card or something..?
But anyway, before I had Professional, I had Starter, and that worked perfectly with the wireless internet. Now, however, I can only connect through ethernet. I know it is definitely a problem with my netbook, as before, the netbook could recognize all the routers, etc., on the street, and now it can't even recognize the router right next to me. Also, my phone is able to connect to my router perfectly fine...
I am running a Samsung N130 Netbook with Windows 7 Professional (x86), I bought the netbook at around November 2010 .

Is it possible to run 802.1Q on a point to point Ethernet circuit between 2 Cisco ISR routers? I need to carry multiple VLANs across an ethernet WAN circuit but not sure if a Cisco router would let me do this. I can surely lab up but was looking for expert opinion on what's best aproach to carry multiple VLAN across the WAN ethernet. Plugging the circuit to a LAN switch is not an option since this is a managed WAN router.

How do I connect and configure my WAP54G wireless access point to my new Cable Modem? I have it connected to the modem but I cannot access it to configure it. It appears to be working but before I got the cable modem I had it connected to a router and it was set-up with a static IP address. With my new ISP, I no longer have a static IP address so I am trying to configure the WAP54G to use DHCP. Trying to access it thru the internet at 192.168.1.245 does not work.

I just bought an LG Bluray DVD player (BD390) which is unable to find the access point in my home network. My router is a WRT54G, ver. 2.2, running firmware: Ver.4.21.1. My home network uses high speed cable with two computers on the wireless network, all working with no problems. The router is on the second floor but the two computers and the new BD390 are on the first floor - about 35 feet away. I have the wirelss security set to none and use only the specific computer MAC addresses to allow connection to this network.
I found directions in the forum for a setup using the LG BD390 but with a different Linksys router. I changed the security to WPA (AES); the Beacon interval from 100 to 75; the Fragmentation Threshold from 2346 to 2304; and the RTS Threshold from 2347 to 2307. The DVD wireless connection still failed to find my network. There is a "Push button" connection feature on the BD390 setup which I tried, but the only "button" on the router I could find was in the basic wireless setting, a green icon for the wireless SSID setup. No connection was made there either.
The recommendation connection from the LG manual is for a network cable, but that would be over 50 feet and a real pain to connect, so I would prefer WiFi.

I've got a AP WAP54G. I've managed to get into the configuration page and rename my router and set a WPA2-Personl password.
The issue I'm facing is that when me and my roomate try to connect to the router at the same time, it shows the laptop that connects second as one that has 'limited connectivity' and hence cannot use the internet. The 1st laptop however works fine!
The settings for the router have all been left to default.
I'm not sure, but does this problem have anything to do with the fact that the router in configured with a static IP. If so, then there is another issure which is that whenever I try to change it from static to automatic/dynamic IP, the page fails and the router doesn't even get connected to the configuraion page(192.168.1.245) after that. The only way to get that page again is the reset the router.
Also I'm not able to directly get into the config page when I connect my router to my laptop via lan. I need to change the LAN IP to 192.168.1.x where x is >1.

I have 2 data centers miles apart. They are on a Paetec MPLS. I have a Lightower point to point Ethernet link between the two data centers as well. At data center A, I have a Paetec managed router (192.168.2.1). The subnets behind that router are 192.168.2.0, 192.168.100.0 and 192.168.101.0. I also have a Cisco 1841 that is configured with fa0 addressed as 192.168.2.250 and fa1 as 10.5.5.1. Fa1 is the one end of the point to point Ethernet link to data center B.At data center B, I have a Paetec managed router (10.0.2.1). The subnets behind that router are 10.0.2.0, 10.0.100.0 and 10.0.101.0. I also have a Cisco 1841 that is configured with fa0 addressed as 10.0.2.250 and fa1 as 10.5.5.2.What I want to happen is any traffic headed from data center A destined for 10.0.100.0 or 10.0.101.0 to be routed through the point to point Ethernet link. I had Paetec add routes in their managed router to route any traffic headed for 10.0.100.0 and 10.0.101.0 to my Cisco 1841 (192.168.2.250).I wanted to do the same for traffic destined for 192.168.100.0 and 192.168.101.0 from data center B. Paetec added the appropriate routes to the router at data center B.Now, if I trace from data center A to 10.0.100.45, I see this:
1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.2.1
2 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.2.250
3 4 ms 4 ms 4 ms 10.5.5.2
4 3 ms 3 ms 3 ms 10.0.2.1
So the routing seems to be ok. However after it hits 10.0.2.1, it gets lost after that.Am I missing something? Is this a misconfiguration on Paetec’s routers?

I'm using a WRT120N and have had no problems connecting most wireless devices, but a Nintendo DS and DSi owned by my family are unable to connect to the access point. My wireless security mode is disabled, network mode is set to mixed, SSID is the same as on the DS/DSi, Channel width is 20Mhz only, Standard channel is set to 6, but I tried using channel 1 and 11 without success, SSID broadcast is enabled.
I've tried every work-about I could find and always get the 51300 error code, and am at a loss as to what else I can try to get the devices to connect to the access point.
