Mar 23, 2011I'm currently using a Belkin F5D8233 wireless router and an HP DV6 laptop. My internet used to work just fine, but after I reinstalled my OS a couple of months ago I started having a funny problem. My internet will randomly stop working, I'll visit facebook, check a blog, and then i'll try to check my email and the page won't load. Then my internet won't work again until I reset my computer. The weirdest part is that Windows acts there's nothing the matter. The little icon in the notification bar still says it's connected and if I click repair, windows tells me there's nothing to repair. My wife has a different laptop and she's still able to access the internet fine after I've been kicked off. I've checked for a router firmware update and it's up to date. I bought a usb wireless-n adapter thinking my laptop's adapter might be bad and that didn't work. I considering buying a new router, but I'm not confident that will solve the problem since my wife's internet is still fine and because my internet works again when I reset, so it's not like the router is blocking my IP right?

Jun 23, 2011I have a supplier which i need to connect a site to site ipsec vpn connection to (from a draytek router). I have already done this on our main site with no problems using the local ip details of 192.168.1.0 and subnet 255.255.255.0 however i need to do the same on our DR site which uses the ip details of 10.1.0.0 and subnet of 255.255.0.0. Our supplier told me the 255.255.0.0 is already used at there end by a different customer so we are unable to connect the vpn and communicate (in theroy we can connect but our supplier cannot reply). We can setup a connection to another spare server on a different address using a different subnet but effectivly this would mean that communication would stop at that server and communcation to the overall network or specific server the supplier needs access to (on the 10.1.0.0 255.255.0.0 network) is not possible. I was thinking maybe an internal vpn server to server connection through win server may do it, 2 nic cards or routes in the server routing table but this all seems a bit messy. Our network consits of win 2003 and 2008 R2 servers and is basic network with modem-vpnfirewall-switch and devices on the internal network connecting to the switch.

Dec 4, 2012I have wireless router F5D9230-4. I use this every day to connect to my employer's corporate network from my home, using a VPN connection via Cisco AnyConnect Mobility Client.
Just about every day my VPN connection is interrupted and, although it "thinks" it is connected, it loses connectivity to my company's corporate resources. This occurs even though I'm connected to my router using a Cat5 cable. While this VPN connection is lost, my Internet connection keeps working.
When I use the same computer, even wireless, connected through other networks outside of my home, the VPN connection is never lost (or at least never that I remember).
When I wire my computer directly to my cable modem, this problem does not occur and my VPN connection stays connected throughout the day.
Note that I reset my wireless router to all default settings other than the password to access its management utility, to avoid any "weird settings" coming into play.
I wonder if this has to do with "VPN Passthrough" or the windows 7 firewall conflicting with my router's firewall?
I've been working with the IT department at my job for weeks on this and a resolution doesn't seem to be coming from that direction. I'm on calls every day that use this VPN connection and it's to the point where these VPN connection losses are embarrassing to me.
