Iam using redhat 5 enterprises server , after installing i cant give IP on my ethernet card .my ehternet card remain inactive . it gives error /sbin/ifup : configuration of Eth1 not found .i need to install the Ethernet card drivers.

I am quite sure it came with the Original Operating system (windows 7). and I have been considering reinstalling the operating system provided by Dell which I still have for Windows 7....Which is a hasslel the last resort...I tried doing a recovery on the system but I will be damed if I can remember the password even though the computer boots up and I get my display window every time..

I have been setting up a WAP 321 which has been unable to retain it's settings across reboots.
What I have found is that if I leave the Timezone set to USA (Pacific) the WAP 321 can be rebooted without losing config, but as soon as I set the timezone to United Kingdom the next reboot will cause the device to take a long time to reboot and will have then gone back to factory default setings.

I have an broadband connection which does not need a modem to access, i get the CAT5 inthernet cable from the provider. In case if i use it directly on my PCall i have to do is provide username and password under PPPoE and internet works like a breeze.
Now i try to use this 3040 device to use as an wireless router so that i can access internet on multiple devices. How to configure this. I tried in all the three switch options provided with no result at all..I am now using a traditional router from which i connect to Tplink 3g router and using wireless under Access point option...But i would like to use it directly as i can get battery back up so that even when there is no power i can still browse?
I have been using a Cisco 877 to connect to BT broadband and it was working fantastically with no issues. For reasons outwith my control we have moved to 02 and I cannot get the cisco router to connect (the supplied router works fine). O2 support is limited as they say they will not assist in the config of third party routers but they have supplied the below (the line has a static IP). The software (Dell Mobile Broadband Utility Help) says " Choose Network Selection from the Settings Menu. Select AT&T and click Load." Unfortunately, Network selection is not an option.
How do I do it? This modem is compatible with Verizon, AT&T and Sprint networks.
My daughter is 10,000 miles from home taking classes in South Africa and her laptop is having issues! Now, at first, this only happened starting at around 3 am central time and ending at about 6 am when I could browse the internet properly. As the days went forth, however, it began happening earlier at around 12 am. What would happen is this: would be on the internet browsing sites and whatnot. All of a sudden (As I'm loading a new page) I would get the "Address not found" error as if I'm not connected to the internet. I could try to reload any other page on my session,but sometimes it would halfway load (ei:not loading pictures, ect.) and other times I would get Address not found. This would go for about a 4 hour time period. After that, everything would be back to normal and I could go back on my session.
Now, I'm on my laptop via a router that is in my house. We also have a desktop computer, but I noticed this problem happening on my laptop first. When it first happened, it was only on my laptop. I had internet connection and could browse it endlessly on my desktop. As the days went on, however, my desktop started having the same problem connecting to the internet (I still noticed the problem on my laptop first and then I would go see if the desktop had it too).When this first happened, I was thinking my laptop wasn't connecting to my router. Instinctively, I reset the router to no avail. I also opened up IE (I don't use it much because it's just too slow) and tried to diagnose the problem using that. When I did this, it was giving me DNS as the problem of me not connecting to the internet. I am not a network admin so I don't know that much about DNS. I also used IE to diagnose the problem on the following days, but after the first time it only gave me a "You aren't connected to the internet" solution. Since then, I've been running a barrage of anti virus, rootkit, ect. just because I can and I haven't done it in a long time. I didn't find anything unusual in all the reports so I'm still not sure what the problem is.

I just downgraded from vista to XP on my Compaq pc that a friend gave to me. The hard drives were loaded with junk so i decided to do a fresh install with my Windows XP cd. Everything looks like its working great except it seems as if ive lost all drivers necessary to connect to the internet. Pretty much the computer can't even tell that theres a network adapter installed.

I've gone to the appropriate Dell Drivers site for the computer's model and I'm 99% sure I downloaded the correct software for WLAN: Dell Wireless 1395 WLAN MiniCard. After going to Device Manager and looking under "Network Adapters", there is no Dell WLAN card at all (direct ethernet connection for internet works). Is it possible that the computer cannot find the WLAN network card, which prevents me from installing the driver software, even though it exists? If so, what can I do? If not, I guess I'll go buy a USB network adapter.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having a major issue trying to connect my Windows 7 HP Netbook to my Xbox 360 over either Twonky/Serviio or Windows Media Centre. The Xbox just isn't picking up my computer, my homegroup recognises the Xbox and it is 'Allowed' to share media, but when I test my PC connection within the Xbox dashboard, it fails to connect to PC. My network is wireless.The strange thing is I have TwonkyServer Mobile running on my Android phone and that was found by my Xbox immediately with no need to change settings or search for devices. It streams media just fine from my phone. This leaves me thinking that it is an issue with my PC as opposed to my router, I have double checked my router settings (Sagem 2304), UPnP is showing as enabled, I've reset and unchecked/rechecked the UPnP but still not working.
My TwonkyMobileServer is also unable to find my PC server although I have been able to find my MobileServer in Windows Media Player and stream media from my phone.Windows Firewall has been disabled, I've also Uninstalled my antivirus software, Avast and AVG, although AVG doesn't seem to want to disappear that easily and is still lurking in my System Tray telling me i've 'Lost protection'...Norton Internet Security is also lurking around which is odd, I can not recall installing it! It doesn't seem to be a fully installed version and doesn't seem to want to be uninstalled. Could these AV software and supposed Internet Security software be holding me back?This leaves me thinking that my PC is holding back my Network. Is there any thing I haven't thought of? Would it be the Anti-virus leftovers ruining my streaming dreams??
