Can't Access NAS But Can Ping It
Apr 16, 2013
I used to access my NAS by typing "\mydrive" in the folder path. But after I have added computers into my local network, some computers became failed to access the NAS (it shows that it cannot find the specific location). I can still ping the NAS IP and also other computers in the network.

I have a site-to-site VPN (no client software) that is up and I can ping all the IPs on the other side.
My computer is connected to .2.0, remote LAN is .1.0
I can view all of the local LAN (.2.0) devices in Network Location, but can't access the shared resources on the remote .1.0 LAN.
ServerFolder shared directories is mapped as a drive and worked yesterday. It now has a red X on in and I can't access it, but can ping \Server's IP address.

I recently bought a new DLink 615 E4 router. After a botched firmware update, I attempted to enter the emergency room.I got in once, and tried to upload the firmware using Internet Explorer 8, but it was stuck there for over two hours without any progress (stuck at the browse/upload page), so I disconnected it.
I haven't been able to enter the Emergency room since then. I get to the point where the power light blinks orange, and connecting my laptop to the router using the wired connection lights up the proper LAN light, but I cannot ping or access 192.168.0.1 anymore.

I was able to go onto the internet with no problem. I've been searching forums trying to solve my problem but to no avail. I have Windows XP installed, I can connect to the LAN network but I cannot go online. I can ping the gateway but not the DNS as well as other address name or ip address. This is the output of ipconfig /all:
Description : Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC
Dhcp Enabled : Yes
Autoconfiguration enabled: Yes
IP address: 192.168.1.145
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway : 192.168.1.1
DHCP Server : 192.168.1.1
DNS Servers : 202.160.8.2
202.160.6.20P.s: All the other computers in the LAN can connect to the internet.

I have a home network of 3 cmputers. DHCP from router. 1 computer is not getting address. But if I assign it one, with same gateway and dns(not a duplicate ip of others), it can ping internally, and outside. I can do tracert to 8.8.8.8 and ping it (google DNS). But I can't get to internet. So - i can get out, but nothing coming in. I have checked firewall.

Remote access VPN. Its configured on a Cisco PIX525 running ver 6.3(5) (old I know!) and I am running Cisco VPN client ver 5.06.0160 on the client end. Ok so here's the thing. The client connects ok, and it gets an IP address no problem. But I cannot ping anything on the remote LAN. So the client is coming across the internet, the VPN adapter has a 192.168.1.1 address assigned by the PIX and I am trying to ping the 192.168.0.4 address assigned to a switch on the inside of the firewall but with no joy. I'm trying to setup my home network so that I can access it when away from home but I've ran into problems and I can't figure out what is causing the problem.I've setup the router to forward incoming requests on port 80 to be directed to my PC running WAMP. The PC has a static IP and if I access it from another PC on my network I get the WAMP page load as expected.I've also setup an account with no-ip.com to resolve my (dynamic) ip. If I use the address they have setup while I'm on my network I get the login page for the router, again this is what I expect. The problem begins when I try and access my home address (whatever.no-ip.biz) from outside my network. I've tried it from 2 different locations and via a dial-up account and I get nothing.

I have a ASA 5505.|I configured it for remote access VPN from cisco VPN client.the ASA receives a public ip address on outside interface via PPPoE.I can connect to public ip of outside interface and address 10.1.1.2 is assigned to my Cisco vpn client.the problem is that I Cannot ping or reach ASA internal IP address 172.16.29.1 in any way when I am in VPN from outside, while I Can ping other hosts on 172.16.29.0/24 when connected in VPN.this is a problem brcause when I am connected in VPN to ASA I Cannot configure it..Then I Wanted to ask if it is possible a configuration which gives addresses from network 172.16.29.0/24 (the same as inside network) to VPN clients instead of another network (10.1.1.0/24) [code]

I have a RVS4000 and I would like to setup a Ping monitoring from the outside to a device behind RVS on lan network. I have created a rule to allow a service PING for range from WAN 46.xxx.xxx.xxx - 46.xxx.xxx.xxx to host 192.xxx.xxx.xxx but unfortunately this is not working. I can confirm that I can ping host 192.xxx.xxx.xxx from diagnostics on RVS.

I am new to Cisco and am studying for my CCENT certification. At the moment, I am attempting to correctly configure a Cisco 871W lab router. Since I have undertaken this task, I have run into nothing but problems. First off it was finding that the previous owner had left a password on it, having to purchase a new USB to DB9 adapter to pass the "break" sequence to the router, and then resetting the router in ROM Monitor mode.
Now, I cannot seem to configure the router correctly, and am quite stumped.
My ISP is Charter (cable internet), and the home network that I am using consists of a Motorola SBV5122 Digital Voice Modem, Motorola SB6120 Cable modem, and, ideally, should also include my Cisco 871W router.
When I connect my router to the SB6120 Cable modem, the router receives an IP address via DHCP and the WAN indicator light turns on.
I have a VLAN configured on the 4 switchports of the router, and it is setep to act as a DHCP server. However, when I connect my PC to rhe router via Cat5e Crossover cable, I cannot access the internet. The router gives the PC an IP address, yet all attempts to ping the PC from the router fail. Somehow, I can connect to the router via SSH though.
Furthermore, I can ping the 127.0.0.1 loopback address from my PC, but cannot do so from the router.
how to correctly configure this router to function as intended in my network situation, however, this is proving to be seemingly unsurmountable!
I have attached the config of my router along with both outputs and commands relating to my predicament.

I have been working on figuring out a VPN problem on my companies ASA5510. I was accessing the device via: ASDM, SSH using Putty, and even initially with a console cable (also using Putty) using a computer in the networking closet. All 3 of these access methods worked properly for me.I believe I may have inadvertently changed something as of Friday using ASDM. I am mostly assuming this because, as of yesterday I can no longer connect to the device. I actually cannot even communicate with it (ping the interface I normally use to manage, which I could previously ping). No computer on the same subnet as me is able to ping the interface. The device is still accepting VPN connections, dishing out DHCP addresses and everything else it normally does, but I really need to be able to gain access to it again. I am thinking to reboot the device when there is some downtime, in the hopes that ASDM doesn't save to startup-config and only to running-config.

Ive been struggling with this issue for a week now with an 877w (now with andvanced ip ios) in short my wireless network consists of
The internal dot11 sibinterface 0.11 radio (IP Address 10.0.1.1) which on bridge group 1 (IP Address 10.0.0.10) The SSID for the radio is on vlan 11 which has no ip address.
This works i can ping the internal network and internet
The guest dot11 sibinterface 0.10 radio (IP Address 10.0.3.1) which on bridge group 2 (IP Address 10.0.2.1) The SSID for the radio is on vlan 10 which has no ip address.
This dosnt work i get no no recived packets on the clients network stats and i cant ping any name servers or the radio ip address. The client is listed as being successfully accosated with the show dot11 assoc commmand
Ive tried taking the guest wireless and creating a new vlan for it (so its not on the same vlan as the tmg firewall interface) so that i have only the dot11 radio and vlan 12 on brige group 2 but the same thing happens no traffic on the guest vlan.
Ive turned off all authentication while testing this and the wireless network is currently in open mode until its fixed ive also only configured whats neccessry to test the wireless connectivity (no radius etc) that will be added later, Im also not using dhcp yet and the client is configured to the apporprite adderess staticly ie 10.0.1.1 10.0.3.2 its not a dhcp issue

The inside interface of the ASA i 10.10.10.1/24 and the VPN return addresses are 10.10.10.50 - 10.10.10.65/24.They users can utilize SSH and Oracle or MySQL calls but cannot seem to ping.
