It works on the mobile site at times maybe twice a day but only able to access for 10 minutes maximum. I tried the command prompt and ping facebookm and noticed that I didnt recieve files back and it was just timing out is that whats causing it?

But if I assign it one, with same gateway and dns(not a duplicate ip of others), it can ping internally, and outside. I can do tracert to 8.8.8.8 and ping it (google DNS). But I can't get to internet. So - i can get out, but nothing coming in. I have checked firewall.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to setup my home network so that I can access it when away from home but I've ran into problems and I can't figure out what is causing the problem.I've setup the router to forward incoming requests on port 80 to be directed to my PC running WAMP. The PC has a static IP and if I access it from another PC on my network I get the WAMP page load as expected.I've also setup an account with no-ip.com to resolve my (dynamic) ip. If I use the address they have setup while I'm on my network I get the login page for the router, again this is what I expect.The problem begins when I try and access my home address (whatever.no-ip.biz) from outside my network. I've tried it from 2 different locations and via a dial-up account and I get nothing.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been working on figuring out a VPN problem on my companies ASA5510. I was accessing the device via: ASDM, SSH using Putty, and even initially with a console cable (also using Putty) using a computer in the networking closet. All 3 of these access methods worked properly for me.I believe I may have inadvertently changed something as of Friday using ASDM. I am mostly assuming this because, as of yesterday I can no longer connect to the device. I actually cannot even communicate with it (ping the interface I normally use to manage, which I could previously ping). No computer on the same subnet as me is able to ping the interface. The device is still accepting VPN connections, dishing out DHCP addresses and everything else it normally does, but I really need to be able to gain access to it again. I am thinking to reboot the device when there is some downtime, in the hopes that ASDM doesn't save to startup-config and only to running-config.

The client device just sits there trying to obtain an IP and then times out. If they get within range of the actual wireless router, then connect instantly. Is there a setting to increase that will allow longer time trying to obtain an IP?
I am using the same SSID for roaming, but am using different channels (1, 6, 11) for the overlap. See diagram below. Not sure if this has some impact?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an RV042 using Quick VPN to connect to a remote network. I have port 1723 forwarded to a static IP address on a Windows 7 Pro 64 bit PC. I can establish the VPN and ping a printer but not the Win 7 PC. I can not acccess any shares on the pc via the IP address. It has Norton Antivirus and Windows Firewall. This remote PC replaced a Windows xp PC that allowed access to the shares. I have tried access with a Windows XP Pro and Windows Vista Home Premium PC. Neither have worked.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI cannot access the desktop version of Facebook. Whenever I try it says that the connection has timed out. I can get on all other sites without any problems. I tried to figure out what was wrong. I went on Cmd and pinged facebook and it said the connection was timed out. So I did tracert and after the 8th hop it said connection timed out. I tried on 2 computers and a tablet and the same thing happens. When I turn off my router and computer and turn both back on then I can get on the site once with no problems.

After a few hours, the error page comes up stating that Google Chrome (my primary browser) can't load the page. A few weeks ago if I switched over to Internet Explorer, the sites would still be able to load. Now the sites don't load after these few hours in any of my browsers. I've done malware, spyware and antivirus scans and threats did come up, but now there are none and this keeps happening. I also did a DNS flush and it didn't work. but I can access touch.facebook.com and m.facebook.com. If I use the computer that is physically connected to the router and modem, I can access Facebook fine. I've tried using CMDPrompt and releasing/renewing IP to no avail. I use the belkin n150 router with updated firmware and the linksys wireless-g pci adapter with v3 drivers. Never had an issue before up until now.

On E4200 Firmware Version: 1.0.03, I managed to successfully set up "Internet Access Policy" (not the "Parental Controls") to set up the times when internet access is disabled for various IPs on my network.
But I could't setup a policy to block facebook.com. What I am doing wrong? See the attached screen shot. I did click the "Edit List" and apply this polity to the IP Address Range 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.254.
I'm running Mozilla firefox on xp 2. I hv wireless connection. My signal strength is very good. Under wireless network connection status my speed is 45 Mbps. Status is connected. Under activity it says is sending n receiving packets. My Internet used to disconnect n I'd restart it fixing it but now i'm having hard time getting it to connect. It keeps timing out. I hv to repeatedly click on links for them to work. Iv tried repair. Iv messed with dns n how grabbing ip address. Iv messed with Mozilla connection settings nothing seems to work.

View 17 Replies View RelatedSome websites, such as Amazon and Verizon's forum suddenly started timing out. This occurs on chrome, IE, and firefox. My xbox says it is connected to the modem but that it is not connected to the internet. My kindle fire cannot connect, but my android phone could load some websites, but now it can't load any. My mac, my laptop with windows XP, and my desktop with windows 7 are having the same problem. I did an upload/download test and the times were normal. I also restarted my modem, with no change. Other strange changes are that the wireless signal is weaker and it was slowing a few hours before it stopped showing some websites. Also, io9.com will load, but only the text of the nav bars. There are no graphics or other information. This has never happened before.
I have not done anything new manually to the modem or my computers. The only significant change was a power outage due to heavy wind that occurred a little over 24 hours earlier. I'm so confused by this that I don't even know what else to look-up or test. Why would a bunch of reliable websites suddenly time out while others still work? I don't think I can blame it on the servers of those web sites because the other sections of Verizon.com work, and student.santarosa.edu loads, but online.santarosa.edu does not load

Recently, I've been getting problems where my internet browser is unable to connect to the server it's looking for or gets timed out. It happens intermittently (probably every five to seven web pages I try to visit), and refreshing after a few seconds always allows it to connect fine. It happens at some point on every web site I try to visit.This began occurring rather suddenly on both of my home computers. All other connections on these computers seem to be working fine. I use Chrome as the primary browser on both computers, but have tried using Firefox and it still seems to occur.What can I do to figure out what the problem is? I'm not even sure if it's a browser issue or a network issue, but we have never had this problem before

I did enable the ping options to allow request from WAN...still don't work!!I removed the router and plug my laptop directly on my cable modem adapter and I'm able to ping my IP address (did put the same address the router had)...so, the IP is OK and it is possible to get in the modem from outside.I did plug back the router, and still not working...I did some trick like enable all IP with the Inbound filter...give access to few MAC address that I have to give more chances to get in and still not working!!!

Charter suggested that the modem signal was weak, indicating the modem might be bad, so I replaced the modem.
