I can't ping from the 192.168.50.0/24 network on Cisco Router 1. The router is connected with network 192.168.1.0 to a linksys router. I also can't ping from the linksys router to a IP address that is connected to the cisco router.
View 3 RepliesI have set up three E4200 routers as wireless access points on our network. They each have a static ip and the same subnet mask and gateway that our pcs have. They also have a local address that I can connect to if wired straight into them.
I cannot ping or remote admin into any of them and I have enabled all the options to do so. The routers seem to work fine as WAPs, providing internet and network access.
I have setup a VPN connection on a 891 router. I can connect to the VP both but am unable to ping or access any resources on the remote network.

When I ping google from my computer I get 0% packet loss and average ping time is 35ms. But when I ping any device on my network the time is 147ms and 25% loss. Shouldn't it ping my devices faster?

I have a phone line that comes into the house and then into gateway (10.0.0.2) then ethernet from that to linksys wifi router (192.168.1.1). So I did the following ping and repeated what you see below a few times to see that these results were broadly consistent, which was the case. One other person is connected to linksys via ethernet cord and they might have been on at the time. Questions are.... are these results consistent with contention caused by other user on the linksys? and why can I ping gateway but not the router? That makes no sense to me! I am not annoyed with the other person if he is hogging the network...I like him. I just wonder whats going on. When the internet works results from pinging are all as one would expect

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using the WUSB54GSC for several years with no issues until a few months ago. Periodically, it will lose connection to the network. It shows it is connected, but I can not ping the router or do anything else unless I reboot the computer. Thinking it was the WUSB54GSC (I had the Ver 1) I got a new one (a Ver 2). Same thing except now it seems to be happening more frequently (one time, less than an hour after rebooting). I have moved it to other USB ports, uninstalled and reinstalled it, everything I can think of.

My computer is a 32 bit, Win7 SP1 with Pentium Dual Core 2.6 Ghz and 2Gb of Ram on a wired network. My wife has a similar system using a wireless network. She can ping my IP Address, but I cannot ping hers. We both have full access to the Internet. We are using the same workgroup, and both computers have file and printer sharing enabled and IPv6 addresses and DNS server addresses selected automatically.The problem appears to be with my computer?

The issue i was having is when i connect to 192.168.50.* network i cannot seem to ping or connect to 192.168.51.2 (esxi host1) and 192.168.51.3 (esxi host2) and also free nas device i.e 192.168.52.2. i can only connect to these devices if i ping the 192. 168.50.1 from both the esxi hosts and also from free nas. Everything starts working if i ping from the esxihosts & Freenas device to 192.168.50.1.

There is a HP Pro curve Switch 2610-24 with IPaddress of 192.168.50.3 and has VLAN's configured on this switch.The VLAN's are : VLAN10 is esxi vlan and ipaddress is 192.168.51.1 and vlan20 is storagevlan and ipaddress is 192.168.52.1 and vlan 30 is internet vlan and ipaddress is 192.168.50.3 (Switch Address).Port 24 is untagged to vlan 30 i.e internet vlan and connnected the port to dd-wrt router lan port. IP Routing is enabled on the switch and ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.50.2 and Default gateway on the switch is 192.168.50.1.
On the Draytek router i have configured a static route for 192.168.51.0/24 and Default Gateway is 192.168.50.3 and another static route 192.168.52.0/24 and default Gateway is 192.168.50.3
I have a very strange problem affecting my LAN. New entrants to the network can ping successfuly but cannot browse. Rest of the pcs that have been on the network before are browsing quite fine. Even when I connect new PC directly to the router LAN ports, problem still persists. I've tried four different new laptops so far. I've even intalled a new router to no avail.

I configured Gi0/2 as L3 port, connecting to the nearest neighbor. My network runs EIGRP so i advertised the routes into the EIGRP process. View 6 Replies View RelatedI set this up and I can ping all the gateways but never the hosts. I was hoping I could make these links between 6500's a mix of L2 and L3. Check it out. They are connected in a linear fashion R1--->R2--->R3. I can ping from R1 to R3's SVI4 gateway but I can never ping a host on that SVI4. I was hoping that I could use the port-channels between 6500's as routed links or as trunk links depending on the type of traffic....thought it would ease the migration. I suppose I could always get rid of the port-channels and just make separate L2 and L3 links between the 6500's.

Our Equipment:
Router: Netgear FVS336.xxx
Switch: Dlink DES-1024D (we have 6 of these switches in our building)
Wifi Routers: Dlink DIR-601, Linksys wrt54g, wrt54gv2
Computersservers: 40x
Copiersfax: 5x
Wireless clients: (iphones, laptops) at least 30
All has been working together in harmony for many years.Fast forward to last week when my hell began with intermittent crashes.Not sure what's causing the problem.When it happens, everybody loses their internet, the ability to communicate over the network; ping tests won't respond to anything (including the router) that exists on the lan, even with a static IP against other statics.In visually inspection of the switches and router, they seem to be happily blinking away with no apparent issue (visually).The only way I've been able to fix the problem is by power cycling the router.About 1 second after doing that, we're back in action for 2-6 hours (very unpredictable).I never had to power cycle any other devices)
Steps I've taken in troubleshootingeliminating potential culprits:
Replaced the router with a spare (new) FVS318G
Replaced the power supply for the router (suspected because problem remained after router swap)
Replaced cable going from router to lan switch
Removed linksys wifi router from network (the router had needed power cycling weekly and was old. So I unplugged it)
Removed Dlink wifi router from network (I hate dlink routers, so removed it).I'm at a loss.
I use a Buffalo Nas LinkStation WXL server to back up my files and data. It has been working perfectly and we have saved some files and data in it.However, we turned it on one day and it had disappeared from the list of Computers on the network and for a while now we haven't been able to get in. It is not showing in the list of Computers in Network and its webpage keeps coming back as "Unable to Connect" or "Taking to Long to Respond".The server is visible on the router's webpage under DHCP Clients List and we can ping the server and get a reply. But none of the laptops on the network can view it neither can I (the administrator) get access to it via its webpage?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have created an IPSEC VPN tunnel using a Cisco ASA5520 (corporate) to a Cisco SRP541W (remote). The corporate subnet is 10.1.0.0/16, and the remote subnet is 192.168.1.0/24. From the remote subnet, I can ping anything on the 10.1.0.0 corporate network, but I cannot ping from the corporate network to the remote subnet. At first I thought this was something obvious, perhaps an incorrect acl or something easy on the corporate firewall. However, we have several other vpn tunnels established, all set up the same, and they work just fine. After looking at it a bit more closely, if I ping the remote subnet I see the hit counter increment by one each time, which leads me to believe that traffic is in fact being routed properly.Now I'm thinking that something in the remote SRP541W that is not allowing icmp traffic, but I can't find it anywhere. To be honest I have never used this type of firewall before, they have all been Cisco PIX501/506e and ASA5500 models.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHad a switch die over the weekend, a c3560, per our normal procedure I pulled the hardware put a very basic config on it(vlans, portchannel, uplink ports, ip of management vlan, con and vty security, snmp, enable secret, and hostname). Then I use solarwinds orion to upload a copy of the old config to bring the switch back to the same state as the one that failed. Its a system that has worked for us 3 or 4 times in the past. But this time when the base config was on the box it couldnt ping across the network.I have tried clearing the arp cache and the dynamic mac tables, i verified the routing tables and even removed the 10.1.185.128/27 route and re-added it, saw the routing update go across to the other 65k, tried bouncing the edge switch(i cant bounce the 65k's), took down the po between the edge and 65k.
