I can ping all the devices on my network but cannot browse any pc/server, mapped drives now disconnected. I can access the laptop from another machine and can browse the internet from the laptop. It has windows 7 ultimate. I have tried everything from forums, sfc/ scannow, flushdns, all services started.

Four pcs has got windows vista on, the rest XP. Yesterday I tuned on the one pc with Vista on, but could not connect to a mapped drive. I checked in the network places, i could see only three pcs, all three xp pcs. I can browse the internet, but not the pcs on my local network, and I can ping the pcs on the network.

My computer technician friends can't fix it either, so here's my last gasp attempt to get it online before I throw the machine out of the window.I'm using XP, don't recall ever having downloaded any Service Packs, and am trying to connect wirelessly to my home network here in France. Router connects to ISP but cannot browse the Internet. I have updated the firmware to 2.0.3.2 and that did not work. Reset the router to factory settings and that did not work either. Router had worked until the ISP changed the ONT. The router worked initally after the ONT was changed, but that changed sometime during the day as it did not work that night. The ISP gave me a netgear router and that works, so I can connect, but I would rather the RVS4000 would work. I assume a setting at the ISP, but do not know which one. I get an error on the computer "name resolution for the name dns.msftncsi.com timed out after none of the configured DNS servers responded" I can ping, tracert and my little weather gadget works, but a web page will not display

I assisgned an IP address to the switch some time ago, but never had cause to use it (as it was purhcased as a spare).The problem I have now is that I cannot ping the device or browse to it via IE. Using hyperterminal and the CLI i have attempted to assign the same IP address, but i get a warning along the line of already assigned.I have set IP's to other 3COM model switches without problems. why I cannot ping this device or assist in connecting to it via IE?

He can't browse to the network share (\servershare) using the hostname, but he can by IP address.I've checked the host file, looks normal. I can ping the server by hostname or IP address. And in fact, after going to \server, it shows 1 share which we deleted 2 days ago. It only shows 1 share when there's in fact about 20. This only happens when browsing to the server via hostname.If we browse by IP address, he can see all of the shares on the server.. (\192.168.x.x)

The issue i was having is when i connect to 192.168.50.* network i cannot seem to ping or connect to 192.168.51.2 (esxi host1) and 192.168.51.3 (esxi host2) and also free nas device i.e 192.168.52.2. i can only connect to these devices if i ping the 192. 168.50.1 from both the esxi hosts and also from free nas. Everything starts working if i ping from the esxihosts & Freenas device to 192.168.50.1.

My lan ip address is 192.168.1.45 and when I try to ping 192.168.1.63 it comes "request time out".but I went and check 192.168.1.63, it's up and working. I can ping other ip addresses though.

I can't ping from the 192.168.50.0/24 network on Cisco Router 1. The router is connected with network 192.168.1.0 to a linksys router. I also can't ping from the linksys router to a IP address that is connected to the cisco router.

Our Equipment:

Switch: Dlink DES-1024D (we have 6 of these switches in our building)
Wifi Routers: Dlink DIR-601, Linksys wrt54g, wrt54gv2
Computersservers: 40x
Copiersfax: 5x
Wireless clients: (iphones, laptops) at least 30
All has been working together in harmony for many years.Fast forward to last week when my hell began with intermittent crashes.Not sure what's causing the problem.When it happens, everybody loses their internet, the ability to communicate over the network; ping tests won't respond to anything (including the router) that exists on the lan, even with a static IP against other statics.In visually inspection of the switches and router, they seem to be happily blinking away with no apparent issue (visually).The only way I've been able to fix the problem is by power cycling the router.About 1 second after doing that, we're back in action for 2-6 hours (very unpredictable).I never had to power cycle any other devices)
Steps I've taken in troubleshootingeliminating potential culprits:
Replaced the router with a spare (new) FVS318G
Replaced the power supply for the router (suspected because problem remained after router swap)
Replaced cable going from router to lan switch
Removed linksys wifi router from network (the router had needed power cycling weekly and was old. So I unplugged it)
Removed Dlink wifi router from network (I hate dlink routers, so removed it).I'm at a loss.
I use a Buffalo Nas LinkStation WXL server to back up my files and data. It has been working perfectly and we have saved some files and data in it.However, we turned it on one day and it had disappeared from the list of Computers on the network and for a while now we haven't been able to get in. It is not showing in the list of Computers in Network and its webpage keeps coming back as "Unable to Connect" or "Taking to Long to Respond".The server is visible on the router's webpage under DHCP Clients List and we can ping the server and get a reply. But none of the laptops on the network can view it neither can I (the administrator) get access to it via its webpage?
