After a few hours, the error page comes up stating that Google Chrome (my primary browser) can't load the page. A few weeks ago if I switched over to Internet Explorer, the sites would still be able to load. Now the sites don't load after these few hours in any of my browsers. I've done malware, spyware and antivirus scans and threats did come up, but now there are none and this keeps happening. I also did a DNS flush and it didn't work. If I use nslookup to get the IP-address of YouTube, I get 173.194.32.32.If I go to http://173.194.32.32/ in my browser it can connect, but as Google is probably checking the Host HTTP-header, it shows Google's frontpage instead.
There is no blocked websites on the router and other devices on the network seems to work.My computer only has this problem on this specific network.
I am using Mac OS X 10.8.2 on a MacBook (mid 2009).
I've been having an issue when trying to connect to Facebook since last week. Whenever I try to get in the webpage I get a time out error message, on any browser (Chrome, Firefox, IE). I can reach every other website completely normal, and I can even connect to alternate forms of Facebook like m.facebook.com or beta.facebook.com, and the local site (I speak spanish) es-es.facebook.com allows me to see the login screen, but when accessing to anything else, it redirects me to the url...version, thus resulting in a time out. This problem started suddenly, after using this notebook with no trouble for more than a year .I should mention that this happens only in this machine, as there are others connected to the same network, and that I've tested this one in more than one network, from different ISP, by wi-fi and Ethernet cable, everything giving me same results.
- Tried different browsers.
- Two different networks and ISP, both by cable and wi-fi.
- ping'ed and tracert'ed facebook.com.
- Updated, uninstalled, reinstalled, practically anihilated and resucitated both wired and wireless NIC drivers.
- Made a complete system restoration to a week before this started.
- Changed MAC Address from both wired and wireless NICs.
- Completely turned off every firewall.
- Tried Google Public DNS for both IPv4 and iPv6.
- Ran antivirus.
I have a WRK54G v2 connected to a Ubee cable modem, and when my computer, connected with wifi or ethernet, tries to play a Youtube video, the actual webpage loads fine but the spinning dots in the player remain for several minutes before the video starts to load. If the video has to buffer again in the middle of playback, it also takes several minutes to start again. When the computer is connected directly to the cable modem, everything works fine. Youtube is the only site I am having an issue with, other video streaming sites like Vimeo work fine.

The laptop works with it fine on other networks as does the phone. The rest of the internet is accessible without issue. It does work rarely but it seems to be random.

I've tried IE and Firefox on this computer and none of them will get me to Facebook. I've tried to ping Facebook and the request timed out. I've tried turning off my firewall and I've tried turning off Norton. other computers on this same network can connect to Facebook just fine. i'm baffled.

I can access it from my iphone and from my friends' laptops, but this one isn't letting me get to the page at all. It just turns up with "this webpage is not available" (same with firefox and ie) when i try to go to facebook. I tried running Malwarebytes and Mcafee, but neither of those found any problems. I can't connect to accounts associated with my facebook account either, like Wanelo or Elfster, and I can't connect to downloaded programs that I logged into with my facebook account such as Oovoo and facebook chat. The only thing I can connect to on this laptop is m.facebook.com, the mobile site.

Ok, it all started yesterday when I was stupid enough to open a link a friend sent me. It was of course a virus. I ran a couple of anti-virus/anti-malwere programs and I think I got everything cleared. However I am not able to connect to facebook - it says that it cannot connect securely to the server or that the link is broken, or that the "server refused the connection". I fixed it last time by deleting a file in my /drivers/etc folder that was not supposed to be there (I don't remember what the file was called, but I googled it and found it was causing multiple people problems as well). Both a gateway laptop and an HP laptop also work hardwired.When I use a Wireless Access point, it works fine with the laptops. However, when I use the Lenovo desktop connected directly by wire to the WAP, I only get "partial" internet access.I can ping yahoo, I can get a google page. But any "thick" content seems to be blocked.I can't play any youtube videos on the Lenovo via the WAP, or view websites with rich content.I get the youtube page, but it hangs on play. the laptops work wether wired to the router, or wired to the WAP. With any content including youtube.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was able to play youtube and open the website but last 3-4 days every time i try to open the website it say's "Server not found Firefox can't find the server at www.youtube.com...". every other website is opening fine i tryed IExplorer, google chrome and it's the same, scaned for malware, no problems in hosts file, cleared cookies, fixed registry with CCleaner, and still have the problem. I have no idea what i'm getting from my ISP (who is orange) but it'll probably be 20Mbps. I am using a homeplug, and there are a five wireless devices on the network.

Since then, we're experiencing problems with things like downloading large files (like > a few MB), watching youtube movies etc. When I click on a movie on youtube, usually the loading bar stops at approx 5-10%. When hitting refresh a couple of times, suddenly the whole movie is loaded. This is the same when downloading large files.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought a D-Link DIR-655 hoping to get a faster connection over my Netgear WNR2000.I runs mostly fine apart from the occasional freezes and one other problem: youtube video's won't load. I can search and browse youtube, but when I click on the video, the page loads but the video just doesn't load. I can see the play/pause button and the circle telling use the video is loading. Then that's it. Nothing happens. When I plug back my WNR2000, Youtube videos load fine. Same thing on my roommate's laptop. I bought this router over a month ago so I can't return it, spending $80 on a piece of shit like is frustrating when living off a student budget. I'm just about to throw it out the window

It all started when I updated my DIR-655 to the newest firmware 2.07NA because I wanted to have an Open NAT for my PS3 because it was set on Strict and I wasn't able to fix it other than updating my router. I just purchased a Belkin N300 and it's advertised as being able to video chat as well as have two computers connected to it. I can't even watch youtube videos with just one laptop connected because the ads take 5 minutes to load. Is this normal behavior for this router? Do I need to upgrade to be able to Skype?
