View 2 RepliesI recently moved from one city to another, and I still have my same ISP. However, I can't get onto the Internet through my same Netgear router. I can connect to the Internet when directly connected to my modem, and I can ping my router from my laptop wirelessly, but the router won't let me onto the Internet. I tried to modify some settings on the router itself (192.168.1.1), but I think I may have just gotten myself in deeper. It's currently setup for no security, and even with that I still can't get on. I might mention that I can't get on through the wireless router either connected or wireless.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI set a password and everything on my n300's Netgear Genie, but every time I go to routerlogin or 10.0.0.1, it just shows me the full control panel and never prompts me to log in. Isn't security a bit too lax over there? I even click log out and it says i logged out, then I re-visit and I'm always automatically logged in.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a website account with fatcow. I created the website with Dreamweaver software and uploaded it to fatcow via port 21.My internet connection was via xplornet and I had no access problems. I upgraded to xplornet's new g4 system and now I can no longer access my account online or upload to my website. We have two computers. The first is a desktop system that has the dreamweaver software. The second is a laptop which connects wirelessly. We share the signal through a dlink router. The modem is a viasat Surfbeam 2 residential satellite modem.1. When I attempt to login to the fatcow control panel, the tab shows successfully authenticated and then re-directs me back to the login page. This happens on both the laptop and the desktop.
I have tried bypassing the router and the problem still exists.I took the laptop to the computer center and I can login to the account no problem.I used a free proxy server page on the internet and can login from my home system on my desktop no problem.I have completely turned off virus scan and firewalls. It doesn't work. I have tried IE7, Chrome, Firefox and they all have the same problem. The laptop runs IE8 and has the same problem.I can ping the page successfully. I can traceroute the page successfully. I can't nslooup any site at all. I get the domain not existant message. My ip and dns settings are the automatically find option.I have renewed ips and dumped the dns cache.Using alternate dns addresses doesn't rectify the problem. When I attempt to upload via dreamweaver, I connect but within seconds I get a Dreamweaver message that says "Connection to remote host has been lost. Click refresh to continue" and the log reads "FTP Error. Dreamweaver could not connect to server." I haven't taken my desktop anywhere to try to see if it works on a different network. I'm in a remote location (hence the satellite internet)and it is an hours drive to the nearest private internet connection and a 2 hour drive to the nearest public connection.
I have a Netcomm router which I've had working as my ADSL and my wireless AP.I connected a DLink router via ethernet so as to extend the range of my WIFI.This has worked, but now I cant log in to my DLink router. It started with IP 10.1.1.1After setting it up to not do automatic dhcp and then plugging it in to my Netcomm (which is on 192.168.1) I can no longer find the DLink, whether connected over ethernet or wireless. How it might have had its IP changed as it join the network?

The modem is working OK but there is a setting I need to change.IE says "Internet Explorer cannot display the page"A friend then recommended trying Firefox. This worked the first time but now it is not connecting either. On http://192.168.1.1/ I just get a blank screen.I've turned the power off on the modem for 15 minutes and back on, and rebooted the computer.I've also tried turning Norton Antivirus & Firewall off but this didn't make any difference.I run Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit with SP1.I've avoided resetting the modem as I am of the understanding that means I have to start from scratch with all the settings.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using d link routers for a very long time. However, recently I have a problem with one of my dlink router..
Basically I have a Wireless N 150 Home Router (DIR-600 B2). I managed to reset and login to the router at http://192.168.0.1. I tried to made some configuration (disabling DHCP, some stuff, basically I was trying to configure this router as Wireless Repeater to connect to another room downstairs).
So it didn't connect so I do a reset (hold a pen for 20+ seconds at the reset button) and now I cant login to the router at http://192.168.0.1..
I am using RV082 V3 router. After a reset of the router I have access via both LAN and WAN for some period of time (not yet known) later that day or the next day when I try to access it via the WAN it sits on "opening page" for a while eventually coming up with the login box. After logining in the page only partially loads. (All the settings are shown, but the proper selections are not made.) Internet explorer will then show something like "8 items remaining" in the status bar. If I close and re-open IE I am unable to connect at all. At this point I also cannot login via the LAN. However, internet access appears to be fully function through the router and the router also responds to pings. (I have the latest firmware loaded.) The only resolve I've found is power cycling the unit to regain login access to it. Very irritating, and impossible when not at the physical location.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHere is the setup: A US Robotics USR-9108 router is connected to an ADSL modem via ethernet cable. The modem, upon connecting with the ISP, provides a gateway address of 192.168.1.1 to the router. End-users including me connect to the internet through the router via WiFi and are assigned the IP 192.168.1.2...192.168.1.255.
When disconnected from the modem, I can access the control panel via 192.168.3.1 but once the ethernet cable is plugged in I cannot access the above-mentioned IP; connecting to 192.168.1.1 opens up the modem's control panel. Any possible way to access the router control panel while it is connected to the internet?
I can put login into the router just fine.. But the same login doesn't seem to work via web browser

Connected my phone and laptop and getting wireless. The issue, however, is that I cannot login to the router page. The login says to leave blank for default, but it gives me an incorrect password error. I have tried resetting using the button located above the power cable to go back to defaults, but I continue to recieve the error.
I have tried a all the other usual default passwords, password, administrator, admin, etc.I've gone through pages of google search results and found nothing. Have I missed something obvious or did Walmart sell me a defective router?
