I just moved and have a new laptop, Comcast came in to reset the cable and internet. A new router was given to us and I cannot seem to access the password. I reset the router and now where to go nest since I try using the IP address and it is not recognizing it. I am using an unsecured WIFI access and I am not comfortable doing so.
View 1 RepliesThe computer that i am using which is on the LAN Setup. Also it is connected to the domain. Whenever i tried to log on to the computer it is giving me an error message that "The System could not log on the "Domain Name" either the connection is disconnected or the domain is no longer available" somting like that. When i remove the LAN Cable and if i enter the domain password, i can login to the computer. after i log on the computer if i connect the LAN Cable it is working fine. I can access the other computer which is connected to the same domain. Why the error message is poping up?

I have the "cloud connect" firmware and when I'm redirected to the "Linksys Smart Wi-Fi" page in my browser, I attempt to login as usual.It accepts my login name and password, and then I get a page that has a rotating graphic and it says "waiting..." It eventualy times out and takes me back to the login screen. I've tried to reboot my router and that doesn't work. I've also disconnected the internet connection from the modem, and entered the router main password, and that gives me the same response as if I tried to connect via the cloud.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have wrt54gl setup with dd-wrt standard version running hotspotsystem. 3 wrt54g version 5 with dd-wrt micro setup as WDS client of wrt54gl. After the intial setup I can log into the main router wrt54gl (192.168.1.1)and all 3 WDS routers (192.168.1.2 ,3 and 4), but after couple of days of testing suddenly i can not login to 2 of the WDS routers,
I mean I can connect to it and it will get me to internet but I can no longer login, it just says the page take too long to load. I know if I do a hard reset and setup WDS again then it will work, but I dont want to keep doing that. Tried to power cycle the router but still wont work. Is it the load on the router made it inaccessible ?
Basically all I want to do is login to my routers config page so that I can forward ports. I was able to this a few weeks ago but recently I have received this error. Failed to connect
Things that I have already tried:
- Tries using 192.168.0.1, 192.168.1.1, http://192.168.1.1 and all kind of variations.
- Tried with different browsers.
- Tried with seperate computer with different OS's (Mac and PC)
- Unable to flush dns because I get this error: CMD prompt error message .
- Have factory reset router a few times now.
- Unplugged, left off for 20mins-2hours.

The steps that I went about resetting the router were pushing the reset button for 30 seconds. That did not work so I pushed the reset button for 30 seconds, unplugged the router while continuing to hold the reset button for 30 seconds, plugged the router back in while holding the reset for 30 seconds.

When I enter the username and password, which I just set, it fails. I am able to login under a different login but when I try to enter the enable mode the enable password doesn't work, which I just set as well. I can login with the TACACS+ login from a SSH session. I've just updated my router (E4200v2) to the smart wi-fi firmware and it seems I can only properly access it in the "local" mode (by that I mean that I can edit some of the properties such as wifi settings).If I try to login through the cloud / smart wifi account i only get the empty screen, no options, no widgets, nothing (see the included picture).

This, of course, included the update to IE10.Now, I cannot log into the router on my network via a Windows 8 system. It works fine if I use a Windows 7 laptop or an XP unit, but on Windows 8, when I go to the router's address, it prompts me for the Username and Password. It takes the password, and then immediately comes back and asks for it again. Another weirdness is that it won't exit when I choose cancel - only if I select the red X in the upper right corner of the authentication window.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI configured a new SG-200-08 with a static IP. I tried to save the configuration as the startup configuration. After 10 minutes, I restarted the switch. It didn't boot with the new configuration, and returned to the default .254 and default pw. Now I cannnot assign a new pw or get past the change the pw page. When I try to save a new pw, the switch reboots and prompts me to change from the default pw. I tried resetting the switch by depressing the reset button for a long time, but results are the same. LED indicators are green with a flashing green indicating the .254 address and a solid green on the port where the switch is connected to the computer. How can I reset the switch or get passed the change your pw page?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a dlink dir-655 router and an action tec dsl modem on windows 7. I connect with ethernet to the router for my cpu and use the wireless for the rest of the house. I used to have this working flawlessly but ever since I moved I've had trouble, I also just bought this computer so I was hoping for a clean start. I set up the modem and put in the ATT p/w and user name and installed the router drivers and set it up for PPPOE with the correct passwords but it only works when I connect my cpu directly to the DSL modem. I'm really struggling to figure out what could be causing this. Does the router need to be in some sort of bridged mode or something? I didn't run the ATT setup disks on this new cpu b/c I didn't think I would need to and I don't like putting their crummy software on my cpu.

After running a packet trace on the traffic coming from the site to the server they are trying to access, the trace indentifies that the client pc is sending a window size of zero to the server, and it does this twice. So in essence the client is saying it is too busy. This is strange as all the other applications work for the users and it is only this one application that is experiencing issues. The only other issue is that there is some retransmitted traffic before the client sends window size.

I can download ASDM from the http interface of the firewall from the management interface. But I can not log in. I have used blank username and password, no username and enable password, blank username with enable password and a few other permutations. I then tried to connect to the asdm interface from inside also. But I can not connect. Needless to say, I have enabled http, and updated the http access-list. The only logging I have enabled is buffered. Is there any configuration that I am missing? Shall I cut and past the config?

Now I would like to add a link to a PDF document which is supposed to be available before logging in. In other words: Clients connect to the W-LAN and get access to the login-page. They can download the PDF document (which has by the way a size of ca 10MB) from the login-page and after that they login to get access to the internet.
As far as I understood the manuals I won't be able to use the internal login-page because the size of a file is not allowed to be bigger than 1MB.So I thought about using the external authentication by using the webserver of my website. Unfortaunely the IP-Adress of my website doesn't work. Behind this IP-adress there's more than one website hosted. So I can't use my webserver either ...
Is there any other possibilty to add this PDF (size 10MB) on the login-page? Maybe I can add my website to a kind of a "pass through list" which is accessible even without authentication?
