View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to remove an invading computer from my network. My ISP told me to change the password on my router. I followed all instructions, but it returned to the original setting each time. I've been unplugging modem and router, whenever I am not online, but when I am online and the invader is also, everything is very slow. At one point I was not even able to get online, as I got the error message that another computer was using my IP address.

My laptop running Vista connects nicely but only has local access. I find the network and connection area where it sees a network with local only access. I have no clue how to go about changing that. I have the correct password because my Kindle asked me. My laptop does not ask for the password.

View 2 Replies View RelatedA few months ago, I purchase, installed and configured a WRT 160N V3. And I couldn't be happier. I now would like to go back and change the passphrase that a user needs to enter when they connecting to my router. Currently it uses the default value. And I would like to make it a bit more friendly. I found a number of postings dealing with setting retrieving or changing the Admin password.
But I was not able to find anything on changing the “passphrase”. There probably are a number of postings on the subject, and I simply overlooked them.
I cannot find the screen in the interface at 192. Where is this? Please don't say use Cisco Connect disc.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a couple of Linksys WRT54GS V7 routers, they work fine, with the exception that when I login to the web interface, I select the drop down box for DHCP to change it to a static IP, the page refreshes, but comes right back to the same screen with DHCP selected again, I can change the time zone with no issues, I entered the Static DNS info. I've tried a couple of different PC's with a couple of different IE versions. I already updated to the newest firmware, firmware is 7.50.8, I've also factory reset it a couple of times, and I've just run into a brick wall. I've setup hundreds of these routers before so it's not like I don't know how.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Linksys E1000 wireless-n router. I bought the router originally so I could get my Nintendo DS on Wi-Fi. I then realized that DS games require a WEP Key, but my E1000 defaults to WPA/WPA2 mixed mode. My laptop and my Wii connect online with the default settings just fine. My 3DS also seems to be able to connect with the internet router, but not Wi-Fi, for some reason. So when I'm on Cisco connect, I go to Router settings, it brings my web browser to "http://192.168.0.1". From there I go to the Wireless tab, and then click on Wireless Security. I've tried multiple times to change the Security Mode to WEP, and even disabled security. But after I save the settings, the connection on my laptop is lost, and I have to reboot my router all over again, and am back with the default WPA/WPA2.
