I'm running PI 1.2.1.012 and I'm having issues populating client information. Most of my switches are 2960 series. Specifically I get a lot of MAC Address "Unknown" and nothing in the IP address field. I probably get about 25% of the correct MAC address and 10% of the IP addresses. I also run CiscoWorks Prime LMS 4.3.2. and the user tracking information is about 98% correct pertaining to MAC address and IP address. My other network management tools also are very accurate.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got PI1.3, I'm new with it, and I don't know how to add devices. I have an 4500-X, an 3850 and 12 pcs. 2960S.
I see that are some out-of-the-box templates, but when i try to deploy, for example "medianet perfom" in Devices box I got "no data available"
What I have to configure on switches?
I am using Packet Tracer to simulate Cisco networking. As the existing IOS of the 3560 and 2960 switch are in older version which has no new feature in new IOS, how to upgarde the IOS of Cisco switch at Packet Tracer?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm currently running CiscoWorks LMS 4.0.1 on Windows 2003 under VMware and just got upgrade licensing for Prime Infrastructure 1.2. I am assuming that I will need to upgrade the current server to Prime LMS 4.2 in order to ensure that data migration to Prime Infrastructure goes well. I am planning to follow Cisco's recommendation to run Prime LMS and Prime Infrastructure in parallel for a time and migrate individual functions.
My real question is about Syslog handling. All of the managed devices are currently sending Syslog data to LMS. As a last step in the migration, is it possible to change the IP address of the Prime Infrastructure server to replace the Prime LMS server so that the Prime Infrastructure server will just start getting all the Syslog data, or do I need to go change hundreds of managed devices to point to a new address?

I have an existing stack of 4 x 2960-S switches connected by stack cables.I would like to add another 2960-S switch to the stack but am unable to as the 2960-S will only allow 4 x 2960-S switches per stack.how I would add the 5th 2960-S switch to the existing stack of 4 x 2960-S switches.

Is it better to uninstall LMS 4.0 completely and then install LMS 4.2 or could I do a direct upgrade?. I've heard the db tables etc. have changed a lot and might cause problems for a direct upgrade.

Is there anyway to migrate off of WCS to Prime NCS? We have a fully built WCS system with maps and all configs and was wondering if there was a way to restore to NCS.
View 1 Replies View Related[URL] it mentions that migrating from NCS 1.1.2 to CPI 1.2 isn't possible.
How can I get around this?
A customer is asking to upgrade their LMS 3.0 to Prime 1.1. However, the customer or their previous system's integrator never actually installed LMS 3.0. The licensing and PAK were never used as well. My question is, can I still use the migration top level part # R-PI-1.1-UP-K9 to upgrade LMS 3.0 to Prime 1.1 because there was no licensing ever installed? How would the migration of the current licensing work with the new licensing PAK if that is the case? Or does the customer have to purchase a fresh Prime 1.1 licensing (top level part # R-PI-1.1-K9) because LMS 3.0 was never installed?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to migrate old data from WCS 7.0 to Prime 1.2 ... I have already created the zip file from WCS and imported it into the defaultRepo on Prime. I see it in the directory when I do a show repository defaultRepo so I have confirmed that it is there. My issue is that it appears Prime 1.2.1.012 won't accept the cli command of ncs migrate.
how I can proceed with the migration? I haven't been able to find any similar command in the Prime CLI so at this point I'm lost as to where I should go from here. I really don't want to have to tell the customer they have to downgrade to Prime 1.1 in order for them to perserve their maps especially since the Deployment Guide for Prime Infrastructure states that it is possible to migrate date from WCS 7.0 to Prime 1.2 as shown below ...

Data can be migrated from WCS 7.0, NCS 1.1, or LMS 4.x. More details on migrating data from each of these applications are spelled out in the following sections.
