Cisco Wireless :: Cannot Add MSE 7.4 VM To Prime 1.3.20
May 19, 2013
How do I add the MSE 7.4 VM to Prime 1.3.20?
The Prime uses https or http when trying to add the MSE. But those ports are closed on the MSE. The MSE seems to expect traffic on tcp 8001.
We did not change the default NCS-username/password in the startup-wizard.
C:WindowsSystem32>nmap 192.168.0.211
22/tcp open ssh1099/tcp open rmiregistry1521/tcp open oracle8001/tcp open vcom-tunnel9001/tcp open tor-orport9002/tcp open dynamid
I'm currently running CiscoWorks LMS 4.0.1 on Windows 2003 under VMware and just got upgrade licensing for Prime Infrastructure 1.2. I am assuming that I will need to upgrade the current server to Prime LMS 4.2 in order to ensure that data migration to Prime Infrastructure goes well. I am planning to follow Cisco's recommendation to run Prime LMS and Prime Infrastructure in parallel for a time and migrate individual functions.
My real question is about Syslog handling. All of the managed devices are currently sending Syslog data to LMS. As a last step in the migration, is it possible to change the IP address of the Prime Infrastructure server to replace the Prime LMS server so that the Prime Infrastructure server will just start getting all the Syslog data, or do I need to go change hundreds of managed devices to point to a new address?
What is the relation between: cisco NCScisco Prime LMSCisco Prime infrastructure. As i orderd a Cisco Prime infrastructure from a Cisco Partner and what i got is :
x2 cisco NCS appliances x1 DVD cisco prime infrastructure x1 DVD Cisco prime 4.2
What are the configuration required on ISE to integrate with Prime 1.3.0.20?,On PI side, I have added ISE in the below path.Design-> External Management Servers -> ISE Servers.
We are going to implement high availabilty in 5508 WLC with version of 7.3.101 . We will be using Prime infrastructure 1.2 for monitoring purpose. With Prime, whether we can monitor and manage redundant WLC also or only active WLC?.
On our NCS and now also on our recently upgraded Prime 1.2 we get the following error when doing a simple search in the search window at the top right of the screen:
There was an error while parsing and rendering the content. (Tried to register widget with id==mseLicenseInfoDialog but that id is already registered) This occurs whichever role you log in as and only happens on teh simple search, when using teh advanced search we do not see it.
I'm looking for getting a Cisco prime NCS appliance (PRIME-NCS-APL-K9). I'm a little bit confused regarding to the license scheme:
1. Does the appliance has any license coming with it or we need to order the license separately? 2. If I have an WLC 5508 (license support 12 APs) & 12 3500 APs, then number of devices counted will be 1 (WLC) or 12 (APs) or 13 (WLC + APs) ?
I can't find any information that the AP1231G-A-K9 AP is supported in a 5508 Controller Based environment with Prime NCS.Could one of the experts confirm or deny?
I cannot integrate Virtual MSE 7.3.101 with my Prime Infrastructure 1.2 After I setup MSE via its wizard, I make a change on WCS username and password. When I try to integrate MSE with Prime Infrastructure, Prime notify me about the mismatch username/password.
I have an E2000 router with the most current firmware. I have a Sony VAio laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit,a Macbook with 10.6.8, and a new Asus Transformer Prime with ICS.My work desktop is a Dell Optiplex 380 with Windows 7 Pro 32bit. I frequently work from home and have no issues remoting into to my work PC from by Sony laptop via VPN and RDP.However I have never been able to connect successfully to my work PC with my Macbook(using Remote Desktop Connection 2.1 for Mac OS) or Asus tablet(using WYSE Pocket Cloud RDP app for Android). I can however connect to the VPN itself on the Macbook and tablet without issue same as my Windows laptop. The other interesting part is I can connect via RDP when I am connected to a Mi-Fi 3g hotspot. So it is definitely something in the my Linksys E2000 blocking the connection for some reason. I have even set Port forwarding of 3389 with the ip's of both the Macbook and Asus tablet.I have also tried connecting via ethernet to the router with the same outcome. I cannot ping my work pc from either device as well.In addition the firewall on my work PC is completely disabled and all services related to Remote desktop access are enabled and running.
I recently installed LMS 4.2 appliance and I noticed that the web administration page was really slow. I checked the CPU utilization in VMware and it was at 55%.
I am using Prime LMS 4.2.2 software to archive configuration for my cisco Network Device switch and firewall . All works fine except for two new Cisco ASA 5525 and ASA 5545 ( Software Version 8.6.1.2 ) . I have already checked credential , ssh access , snmp configuration and all seem correct. But Archive configuration job end with failure. This is the error message:
My customer is using Cisco Works LMS 4.0 ( Product # : CWLMS-4.0-300-K9 ) and we they are willing to upgrade it to Cisco Prime LMS 4.2 (or latest version). as well as adding additional device licenses to become 750
Will Cisco LMS Prime 4.1 be getting a map module, so you are able to see a graphical map of up and down status of devices? I know the topology map is a module within LMS, but what would be nice to see is a graphical map, where you are able to manipulate the icons to place them on that status map.
Is it better to uninstall LMS 4.0 completely and then install LMS 4.2 or could I do a direct upgrade?. I've heard the db tables etc. have changed a lot and might cause problems for a direct upgrade.
I am currently running NCS 1.1.1.24 and trying to upgrade to prime 1.3, but running into some issues, i applied the patch ncs_patch-1.1.1.24-upgrade-12.tar.gz, but when i try to acutally upgrade i get the following...
admin# application upgrade PI-upgrade-bundle-1.3.0.20.tar.gz defaultRepo Save the current ADE-OS running configuration? (yes/no) [yes] ? Generating configuration... Saved the ADE-OS running configuration to startup successfully (code)
Is there anyway to migrate off of WCS to Prime NCS? We have a fully built WCS system with maps and all configs and was wondering if there was a way to restore to NCS.
A customer is asking to upgrade their LMS 3.0 to Prime 1.1. However, the customer or their previous system's integrator never actually installed LMS 3.0. The licensing and PAK were never used as well. My question is, can I still use the migration top level part # R-PI-1.1-UP-K9 to upgrade LMS 3.0 to Prime 1.1 because there was no licensing ever installed? How would the migration of the current licensing work with the new licensing PAK if that is the case? Or does the customer have to purchase a fresh Prime 1.1 licensing (top level part # R-PI-1.1-K9) because LMS 3.0 was never installed?
I'm trying to migrate old data from WCS 7.0 to Prime 1.2 ... I have already created the zip file from WCS and imported it into the defaultRepo on Prime. I see it in the directory when I do a show repository defaultRepo so I have confirmed that it is there. My issue is that it appears Prime 1.2.1.012 won't accept the cli command of ncs migrate.
how I can proceed with the migration? I haven't been able to find any similar command in the Prime CLI so at this point I'm lost as to where I should go from here. I really don't want to have to tell the customer they have to downgrade to Prime 1.1 in order for them to perserve their maps especially since the Deployment Guide for Prime Infrastructure states that it is possible to migrate date from WCS 7.0 to Prime 1.2 as shown below ...
Data Migration # Data can be migrated from WCS 7.0, NCS 1.1, or LMS 4.x. More details on migrating data from each of these applications are spelled out in the following sections.
my customer is using Cisco Prime 4.1 as an Upgrade from LMS 4.0 and has made a discovery of a new added Cat 4506E with a Sup 7E and Modules. All the devices have been discovered, excepted the module WS-X4712-SFP+E.Is this card not supported yet ?I could not find any detailled and actual information about the support or not of this module, or about the conditions for the Module support it in Prime 4.1..How ist it possible to proceed to having this module discovered ?
We have installed the Cisco Prime LMS 4.1 in our production environment. We have configured SMTP settings, but unable to find where we can configure username and password for SMTP authentication. It's only giving a option to enter email address without any authentication parameters.
WCS 7.0 to Prime Infrastructure 1.2 migration?I am so confused on the migration procedure as I found the documents in Cisco kind of contradictory. Some document said it is required to upgrade WCS to NCS 1.1 before to go to prime infrastructure 1.2.And the other document said WCS can directly upgrade to prime infrastructure 1.2.
We've an issue with authorization on NCS system. NCS successfully integrated witch ACS, but there is a problem with one user. All users have equivalent rights under root. There is shell profile with all possible tasks (exported from NCS server) configured on ACS. All users exept this one (unlucky one:)) authorizes successfully. In ACS logs, authentification and authorization status for this user is passed and all attributes (policy, profile, AV-pairs e.t.c.) is the same as for another users. This 'unlucky' user gets a following message: There is surely no browser or network issue. Tried from different PCs with same result. There is no any local info related to this username on the NCS server. When i change one charecter in the username on his ACS account, everything works well.
Our ACS v Version 5.1.0.44.X And NCS Version : 1.1.2.X
I have just started my installation of Prime 1.2. I have the OVA loaded (NCS-APL.1.2.1.12-K9) and I went through all of the setup. I have the webpage loaded but unable to get past the Root login. I then tried to change the password using the "ncs password root password password" command but get the error message "Execution failed: Cannot find user: root". I have seen some people talking about the wrong OVA file but that was for Version 1.1 I think.
we installed a new CPI 1.3. Both machines are in the same subnet and close to each other. Everything looks fine and is installed as we see in the config guide. When we halt the VM of the primary Server, the backup takes over but with errors. I'm also not able to login! [code] my colleauges did the same a few days ago also with problems or similar problems and restore the server from backup.
