The rouge access points being detected by the 5508 WLC are not showing up on the Context Aware tab of NCS? I have a MSE 3310 installed and configured and it shows to be syncronizing with the WLC. I'm sure I am missing some part of the configuration just not sure where.
View 3 RepliesI have an ASA 5550 running 8.4(5) and have installed ASDM 7.0(2), but when I try to manage the bookmarks under the Remote Access - Portal when I try to edit an individual item in a bookmark list the screen does not display any information. Is this a know bug, or do I need to have a specific java version for the new ASDM? As a side note, I have not noticed any other issues with the new version of ASDM, only the bookmarks. I initially tried to downgrade the ASDM version that I was using to connect, but it will no longer allow me to connect.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have successfully set up a pptp vpn from my new rv220w. I have also successfully logged in using 2 seperate laptops and also my iPhone. They all work great. There is one issue. When connected and I log into the router it does not show these laptops or iPhone as being connected to the vpn. There is two spots that its supposed to show the page refreshes and shows nothing connected. Is there a setting I am missing?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got a DIR-655 and set it all up pretty easily. I have 6 wired and 3 wireless. All work fine and all are set to use DHCP. But if I go (in the router) to the Lan Computers list under Device Info, three devices (2 wired, 1 wireless) do not appear. I do have a switch added to the system, but of the three devices connected to it, 1 shows in th Lan Computers list and the other 2 do not.Since everything works, I'm mostly just curious why this is. Every previous router I've had showed everything correctly.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have encountering a problem with a new installation at my clients side recently.We have a 5508 wlc and a bunch of Laps connected to it.Recently we associated a 1142ap to the same controller.The issue we are facing is that , the client laptops that are connected to THIS ap are showing maximum of only 54mbps in their network information dialogue box.Initially i couldn't understand why this could happen.But after a bit of research , i came to know that this could happen because of ``unticked`` data rates in the controller , or because of not using wpa2 with aes as the security standard for N-series access points.Now i have enabled all data rates in the High Throughput section as well as enabled the correct encryption standard.But still the issue persists.We have checked with multiple laptops , to rule out the possibility of a faulty n/w card
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe have cisco 2504 controller and 1200 series access point.These are in India and country code is IN.When access point joins the controller , then in wireless>advanced , i see the two country code is already configured these are Sri Lnaka(LK) and Singpore (SG).I have disabled the radios and changed the country code to IN but after doing that Access point is not joining the controller and giving the duplicate error.
Then i have again set the country code to IN,LK and SG.I am able to see the LK and SG but In is not showing in drop down list.
Operationally everything is working fine.
I have a WAP54g set up as a repeater. It even shows in the WRT54g device list (Tomato firmware) as a WDS interface but nothing can connect to it. I have the repeater's MAC address in the AP and it's set to "Access Point + WDS" mode. I don't know what I could be doing wrong. Is it a conflict of DHCP on the AP vs static on the repeater?

Menus are missing as are option labels, etc. The last time I accessed the router (about a year ago) I didn't have this problem.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a very basic WLAN setup with a 2106 controller and 3 (will be 4) 1140 APs.As part of securing the network I have been testing the rouge detection. The system has no trouble detecting and shutting down honeypots. I would like to also automatically shut down Rouge on Wire points. The system sees my test AP just fine. And I have it completely open (no security). But the system never detects that the rouge is on our network so no action is taken. I can connect just fine to the test AP with no encription using DHCP and communicate with everything on the network just fine.Is there some setting I am missing that allows the APs to detect that an AP is on wire?

It appears to be working but before I got the cable modem I had it connected to a router and it was set-up with a static IP address. View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought an LG Bluray DVD player (BD390) which is unable to find the access point in my home network.My router is a WRT54G, ver. 2.2, running firmware: Ver.4.21.1. My home network uses high speed cable with two computers on the wireless network, all working with no problems.The router is on the second floor but the two computers and the new BD390 are on the first floor - about 35 feet away. I have the wirelss security set to none and use only the specific computer MAC addresses to allow connection to this network.
I found directions in the forum for a setup using the LG BD390 but with a different Linksys router. I changed the security to WPA (AES); the Beacon interval from 100 to 75; the Fragmentation Threshold from 2346 to 2304; and the RTS Threshold from 2347 to 2307. The DVD wireless connection still failed to find my network. There is a "Push button" connection feature on the BD390 setup which I tried, but the only "button" on the router I could find was in the basic wireless setting, a green icon for the wireless SSID setup. No connection was made there either.
The recommendation connection from the LG manual is for a network cable, but that would be over 50 feet and a real pain to connect, so I would prefer WiFi.
Anyway, I am looking for a way to discover host names of Apple devices (namely iPods and iPhones) that are on our network. I've tried a number of programs like Nmap, Advanced IP Scanner, and LanSpy to name a few. All of them will report back the MAC address with no problem but no dice on resolving the host name.
My goal is to use the host name to identify the device, and ultimately the person with the device. Any thoughts on how I can go about this? Is there a setting in Nmap I'm missing or perhaps a better program to use?
I had to reset my access point but the login screen fails to appear to lock the router. I don't have the setup wizard disk.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got a AP WAP54G. I've managed to get into the configuration page and rename my router and set a WPA2-Personl password.
The issue I'm facing is that when me and my roomate try to connect to the router at the same time, it shows the laptop that connects second as one that has 'limited connectivity' and hence cannot use the internet. The 1st laptop however works fine!
The settings for the router have all been left to default.
I'm not sure, but does this problem have anything to do with the fact that the router in configured with a static IP. If so, then there is another issure which is that whenever I try to change it from static to automatic/dynamic IP, the page fails and the router doesn't even get connected to the configuraion page(192.168.1.245) after that. The only way to get that page again is the reset the router.
Also I'm not able to directly get into the config page when I connect my router to my laptop via lan. I need to change the LAN IP to 192.168.1.x where x is >1.
What I want to do is the opposite of most configurations. I live on a small island with only one DSL connection. The modem is wired connected to a WAP54G Access point. To extend this access point want to use a WRT54G.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using a WRT120N and have had no problems connecting most wireless devices, but a Nintendo DS and DSi owned by my family are unable to connect to the access point. My wireless security mode is disabled, network mode is set to mixed, SSID is the same as on the DS/DSi, Channel width is 20Mhz only, Standard channel is set to 6, but I tried using channel 1 and 11 without success, SSID broadcast is enabled.
I've tried every work-about I could find and always get the 51300 error code, and am at a loss as to what else I can try to get the devices to connect to the access point.
Is it possible to configure WRT120n as an access point?

I ran the msed stop and msed start commands. I got this message when it tried to load eth0.Bringing up interface eth0: e1000 device eth0 does not seem to be present, delaying initialization.Earlier in the day I had updgraded the firmware from 6.0 to 7.0.230.0.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently configured CISCO 3310 box with MSE version 7.2. Services are up and running in the box, I could add the MSE to WCS and also able to track the location using WCS. However, I could not connect the third party software to MSE web services to get the location information there. When I hit the server url "https://<my mse>" I get list of possible services like:
Error 404 - Not Found.No service matched or handled this request.
Known services are:

I browsed through the documentation (CAS_71.pdf) and found a text saying:
Note Port 80 will be enabled on the MSE if the enable HTTP command was entered on MSE. Ports 8880 and 8843 will be closed on the MSE when the CA-issued certificates are installed on the MSE. I am running the test system so I do not really want to install CA signed certificate, so I used self signed certificate and restarted the server, but it did not work.
Yesterday I discovered the primary and secondary CAS were both in active state and reporting their fellow peer as dead (I did this using ./fostate.sh), causing authentication errors on the network. I had to stop the perfigo process on the primary one to restore service.
After closer investigation I have discovered that when I put my laptop on the same subnet as their eth2 interfaces (eth0, eth1 and serial are not used for heartbeat only eth2), I can ping the eth2 ip address for the primary device, but can't ping that of the secondary device. See configs and outputs below. I am also wondering why the secondary CAS shows its eth0 and eth1 interfaces as fake0 and fake1.

I am getting a hard time in order to understand the real difference between the two types of context aware licenses for the MSE:
1 . AIR-CAS-1KC-K9 - Context Aware License For 1K Clients and Tags (RSSI based)
2. AIR-CAS-1KT-K9 - Context Aware License For 1K Tags(RSSI, Chokeponts and TDOA)
For a regular network without any devices with tags such as RFID, I understand I do not need to get the .2, only .1, even though the .1 also is shared with clients at 1K of each. Also, the .2 does not say clients, only tags and advanced features as TDOA. Going through the Q&A it does not clearly says the difference, when to use one or the other.
We'll be implementing Cisco NAC guest server for Guest Wireless users, ( Model #3310), the question is do we need to configure separate physical interface for User authentication requests( from Wireless ) and a separate Interface for Guest server to talk to AD for SSO?
