View 3 Replies View RelatedWe have around 70 1131's on our 4404 WLC and there are around 5 of them which always seem to reset themselves to Admin Status = Disable. They are in H-REAP mode as are all the other AP's, but for some reason I have to keep going in and setting the Admin Status of the AP to Enable. This has been occuring across different firmaware versions since 4, we are currently running 7.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Cisco 4404 WLC with Image 7.0.235.0 We have one SSID Sup_Admin with following config. Which is getting the IP address from the interface pool “corp”.
WPA+WPA2 with AES and TKIP
Auth key Mgmt is 802.1X
We are using Cisco ACS as radius server On the same WLC I have created another SSID Corp_Admin . Which also should get the IP address from the interface pool “corp”. Both SSID has the same settings ,but the second SSID is not working.
Currently I am working on a setup for a client that has sites connected through a highspeed ISP VLAN connection, (ATT Opt-E-Man). Due to MAC address translation restrictions from the network provider the client VLANs are not allowed to exist on their point-to-point (sort of) connection. Notice the ISP VLAN changes but it is the same physical connection at Site A. Internet is only available through a seperate physical connection at Site A. A Cisco 4404 is sitting at Site A sending out a single SSID to all the different Sites (yes more than just what I showed).
Problem, all the wireless clients are getting IP's based on VLAN 10 from the site where the 4404 controller sits. I would like the AP located at remote sites (B and C for example) to use the same SSID but have the clients still get IP's based on the VLAN for that location. This way when they dock and undock the gateway does not crash out.
How many SSID can be create in a 4404 controller and also in standalone 1250 AP? How many VLANs can be created in eac one?
View 2 Replies View Relatedwe have a WLC 4404, Software Version 4.2.61.0 and the following Problem. The WLC worked for many years with the SSID "SKHGR". In addition to the existing SSID I have a second SSID "SKHGR-M" is created. The configuration of the two SSID's is identical.
The problem is: when I activate the second SSID, the AP losing connection with the WLC. In the log appears"AP disassociated. ... Base Radio" and "
"not advertising ssid due to radio policy". The AP's connect with the WLC, lose after few seconds the contact.
I think I've been carefully through every single screen and can't figure out how to disable the wireless broadcast on my new EA6500. I typically see this in the "wireless" settings but must be missing something.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm working with some 891W's that have the internal 800-series AP. I have this router set up initially using Cisco Config Express, then, using Cisco Config Professional 2.5 I set up the firewall and other featuress that CCE doesn't do. Overall this is a very simple router, meant to be a small business Internet gateway device but is currently in my lab.
The intended WLAN setup is very simple. One SSID, with broadcast enabled, using WPA2-Personal. Auth: open Encryption is both TKIP and AES-CCM.
However no matter what I do I cannot get thhis thing to broadcast . In the past I had sometimes run into issues where if I had more than one AP running independently it would cause a channel conflict and one or both would cancel each other's radio, so I disabled all other AP's in my vicinity.
Also I've had issues in the past where f I enabled both TKIP and AES, sometimes clients can't find the AP as a result. My solution had been to disable one of them leaving just the other - no change here however.
Via the IOS, ssid config shows mbssid guest-mode which I believce is default.
Interestingly, if I do the following:
ap# Config t
ap(config)# dot11 ssid <myssid>
ap(config - ssid)#guest-mode
end
I end up with both "guest-mode" and "mbssid guest-mode" in the sh run for the AP, and voila, my AP broadcasts the SSID. However clients end up joining without any security at all, no prompts for pre-shared key or anything.
I am using Cisco WLC 2504 for provisioning Wireless Connectivity over my Wired Environment. Have deployed 4 Access Points spanning my entire campus as per Customer Requirements. Created 10 SSIDs for Different Networks. Would like to know if there is any possibility of Broadcasting say a particular SSID XYZ on only two or 3 Access Points and keep broadcast disabled on Others.
integrating the authentication on these SSIDs using Active Directory Domain Credentials.
Everytime I disable SSID Broadcasting 2 extra wireless connections appear available connections list. (See wirelessconnections.jpg) One is blank and one is labeled Other Network. They disappear when I enable SSID Broadcasting. I am not sure why this is happening.

I just set up a brand new LinksysE4200 router at one end of my home, and a Linksys RE1000 range expander at the other end in order to provide full WiFi coverage to my entire house. Everything is working great except for one important detail.. There is currently no way to disable SSID broadcast on the RE1000 range expander! I just flashed it with the latest firmware (v1.0.01 build 2, Jul 22, 2011) , but I'm still unable to disable it, even though it is disabled on the E4200 from which it's receiving the signal it's rebroadcasting. I am seriously considering returning the RE1000. Linksys. add the ability to disable SSID broadcast on the RE1000 in a (not too distant) future firmware upgrade! As far as I'm concerend, this is a MUST HAVE feature in order for this product to even be considered for use in any sensitive network environment.

Don't know why it happens in a sudden and non-stop. After several tries, I found that disabling SSID broadcast for both 2.4 and 5GHz stops the blinking.Of course, before doing that, I upgraded firmware to 1.0.02, reset to factory defaults and finally set up E4200 manually rather than using Cisco Connect. Now the LED light is continuously lit.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to assign a single ssid to multiple interface groups by assigning the ssid to multiple AP groups?
I have buildings geographically dispersed that are configured with multiple vlans in interface groups so that I can maintain an addressing scheme of dhcp assigned addresses per building. Each building is also further grouped as AP groups. I'd like to know if by assigning the same wlan ssid to each of the AP groups, will I maintain addressing integrity for each building? I'm thinking it will work.
Do the buildings have to be outside AP range of each other to avoid problems?

I need to upgrade our Wireless Lan Controller to support new APs. I was able to get the new code due to a security advisory on the code we are running now. I am upgrading from 6.0.196.0 to 7.0.220.0 (MD). I have read in some of the technical docs that the WCS has to match the WLC. I cannot find any documentation as to what this entails on the WCS.
WCS version is 6.0.132.0 running on Windows.
We have two 4404's and WCS. The 4404's are almost maxed out. We have an addition 4404 which we would like to add to the group of 4404's

I have a WLC 4404 installed and we would like to manage the bandwidth per SSID.
Today we have configured many SSID because our campus has a lot of wireless users and any SSID has only one class C subnet (/24).
We would like to configure each SSID with more subnets. is this possible ?
Additionally we need to restrict the bandwidth per SSID. is this possible ? We have some SSID for less important users and we would like to assign the bandwidth per SSID.
I have a Cisco 4404 WLC that is up, has green status light, the interfaces are showing activity. I see it connected to my Cisco 6500, (Sh port status) it shows connected and trunking,; I also see a lot of activity on the interfaces. Also it will not let me console in, I can console in on my other Cisco 4404 WLC's with out and issues, so I know my cables and configure are correct. The only change a I made today was the time zone. I noticed the time was off by a hour and noticed that the time zone wasn't set so I set it correctly. Shortly after that I saw the WLC go belly o up in my WCS. I tried rebooting the WLC several times without luck. Since I can not gain access via the console I can not really trouble shoot.
