I'm trying to find out if there is anyway to enable telnet access on the WAG120n modem/router .I can't seem to be able to find related info in the support web site for this device. Any info if telnet is even available ?
I have more than 20 SF 300-24P 10/100 Managed Switch switches deployed and running in my office network. All these switches have web configuration utility enabled. We would like to enable telnet too. But for this I know I have to visit site to site, connect the switch manually with a laptop and enable telnet option. I am looking for how can I enable telnet in these switches using web-based switch configuration utility.
I have a customer with a 861 ISR.I want to block all the privilege 0 users from access the enable command
If i telnet into the device, as a priv=0, enable does not work If i telnet into the device, as a priv=15, enable does work If i telnet into the device, as a priv=0, enable does not work If i telnet into the device, as a priv=15, enable does not work
I have issued the command:privilege exec level 15 enable Should block everyone except 15's from accessing the enable command SSH and TELNET are on the same vty:
line con 0 login authentication local_authen no modem enable line aux 0 line vty 0 3
[code]....
Basically TELNET is following the rules ( priv=0 not allowed to access enable ) but SSH is not following the rules ( both priv=15 and priv=0 cannot access the command ) is there a way from blocking somes users from login in completely?
I want to configure snmp-traps regarding stpx (root-inconsistency, loop-inconsistency) on a Cisco Nexus 1000V. The command "show snmp traps" lists stpx as a trap that could be configured and which is not at the moment.
I'm trying to add some 2800 series routers to our monitoring environment, but I can't get them discovered.
On the Mgmt Server I need to go through a "discovery" process to add the 2800 to the system. For this I target the internal interface ( i) but the discovery fails. I'm assuming the packets are getting dropped on the outside interface (e). I know SNMP is set up correctly and works as I had PRTG installed on a local box (p) for testing purposes.
The intention is to do the data gathering via a proxy agent (p), so enableing SNMP on the outside interface is not going to do me any good. What do I need to do to let those discovery packets pass through? At least temporarily?
I am using ASA 5510 Firewall and i have established VPN tunnels too , now i want to Monitor the bandwidth utilization , i have installed PRTG Monitor application and want to add the firewall , how to enable the SNMP in ASA .
i want use CACTI for monitor my bandwidth so i have a question how can i enable snmp for a switch port ? or i shoudl just enable snmp from configuratiopn terminal and then in CACTI i will choose which port will be monitor? can i do something that CACTI connect to my switch with a encryption key ? i have cisco 2960 48 port switch
I am facing an issue with a cisco 877 router. I am not able to telnet to this router from outside using the public IP. I have also notices this works when the Nat is removed.
I'm having difficulty logging onto my 1801 router over the internet I can ping the device and tracert to it but I can't telnet or SSH ,Here is the config - Can you see whay this would happen. Its on ADSL link.
I recently acquired a Cisco VPN 3000 Concentrator Series (fairly old hardware) without a manual, and I'm trying to figure out how to 'telnet' or browser into the router to access the IOS. The device has been reset and I am plugged into the console. I'm running Windows 7 and enabled the Win7 Telnet Client in the OS. Can any tell me how to do this or at least point me in the right direction to obtain the user manual for basic instructions?
Model number: CVPN3005-E/FE
I found the manual for it after going through some hyperlinks. But when you access the console in the Windows OS, is your network connection supposed to show disconnected, or connected but no internet access?
We have a router that was installed a few months ago which has the following version: 15.1(3)T
I am unable to reverse telnet to a new ASA firewall, however when I move the console to a second older router with an older version of code I am able to reverse telnet
Are there any known bugs, issues with version 15.1. I use the following command as normal: telnet x.x.x.x 2001
i have 68 sites with Routers. On each site I have one equipment DIRECTLY connected to the Router that needs to be accessed by telnet port 23.
I have 15 off this sites that the access via telnet to the equipment’s connected after the routers are not working. These sites are using Router Cisco 3925. The other sites that are working are using Routers Cisco MWR 2921.
Both router models are running the same configuration with no filter on it.
The equipment’s after the routers are all accessed directly via telnet without the router. If the router is directly plugged to the equipment the 15 sites with Router Cisco 3925 are not accessed via telnet.
There is any bug related with the IOS version that Router Cisco 3925 is using?:
Cisco IOS Software, C3900 Software (C3900-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 15.1(2)T2, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1).ROM: System Bootstrap, Version 15.0(1r)M8, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1).System image file is "flash0:c3900-universalk9-mz.SPA.151-2.T2.bin"
My Setup / I've been lurking on here a while, working hard to understand the basic networking concepts and eventually pursue the CISCO certs. I bought a lab and have since managed to setup a four router config (2610XM-DTE, 2621-DTE, 2501-DCE, and a linksys E1000 with routing, DHCP, and NAT turned off to make it a wirelss access point) with three switches (2@2950 and a 2924XL).
So far, I have managed to bring in my public IP using DHCP, and setup PAT. The network is fully functional, I can ping every interface, and reach the web on host PCs from any switchport. I am also able to telnet into the FastEthernet interface IPd with my public address.
My Issue : My concern right now is in feature support. I recently read on here that CISCO does not support UPnP, and due to my limited resources, I am using the only public IP I have to allow remote testing/learning on my lab. The issue is that I also have a PS3 and XBox 360 on this network that is requiring UPnP for certain online games and features.
The only solution I can see to this problem is to return my public IP back to the E1000 router, which is running RIP Version 2 (white papers said version 1, but a debup ip rip showed that updates were being ignored due to illegal version), and then poing my other three routers to it for outside access.
The questions I have in this scenario:
1. Will NAT still function if I use the E1000 and set the interfaces connecting to it as ip nat inside? I'm assuming that PAT is already hardcoded onto the router to allow for multiple connections to public IP space.
2. If my IP is 68.X.X.X, I set the E1000 to an IP of 192.168.1.1 and the FastEthernet it connects to is on my 2621 with an IP of 192.168.1.2, would it be possible to telnet into 192.168.1.2? If I were to forward port 23 out of the E1000 to the 192.168.1.2 address. Will my login and password for line vty 0 4 understand the request if the original telnet was to my public IP?
3. If all of that is just non-sense, is there another work-around that allows me to acheive UPnP through my E1000, while retaining telnet ability to my lab so I can try things in different scenarios or while I'm away from home?
We have several routers that can only be accessed on telnet port 6066 (vice 23). I have no global exec privilege so I can not provide config. So my question is: how do you configure the router to accept port 6066 for telnet and deny port 23?
We have 400 branches is ended on ASR 1002 router. ASR 1002 is the Hub router. When we disconnect/connect WAN interface or Shut/no shut tunnel interface, at the moment, router is not reacheable via telnet.
But if i disable the EIGRP on tunnel interface, tunnel are ok, then when i enable eigrp on tunnel interface, all eigrp neighbourhoods are OK.Is there any way to limit NHRP or EIGRP packets ?
We have a cisco 2911 router configured with password for telnet login, but I always failed to login use telnet, does any one know any place need to be modify?
Which routers support SNMP? I need to track usage coming through our network/router. Our internet co claims we are using at least double what our computer tracking software says. We currently have the E3000.
I am attempting to set up snmp v3 monitoring of my 2900 series routers from the third party Spiceworks utility. My snmp config on the router looks like this:
SNMP-Server view Westv3View internet included SNMP-Server group Westv3Group v3 priv Read Westv3View SNMP-Server user Westv3User Westv3Group v3 auth MD5 <password1> priv DES
[Code]....
I have set the logging level on the 2900 router to informational and see no errors of any kind popping up when I try to scan the router from SpiceWorks. Spiceworks just returns a generic "unable to contact host" message.
On a 3945 voicegateway,I want to remove a wave file (announcement), with the purpose that a new one can be automaticaly downloaden from UCCE to the box.Is there a way to do that automaticaly with SNMPSET <voicegateway> <MIB OID> <??wave file name??> <reload>
EDIT: or clear the cache, which it should be I think. (all wave file cache, or only one file, not sure what should be used and/or what is possible
I have a cisco 2651xm router here at home, and at another remote location I have a cisco 1760 router, both are connected to the internet via adsl (WIC1-ADSL card). The problem is that from home I can't connect to the snmp-service on the 1760 router. I'm using a PC that's on the LAN of the 2651XM router, the blockage is in the 2651XM router, because if I swap it for a cheap plastic domestic router I can get snmp data from the 1760 router, and this is without any port forwarding in the domestic router. What config do I need on the 2651XM router so it will pass this traffic?
We're looking for a biz-class router with some service-growth potential. Initially, a wired backbone will be deployed, followed by longer-range Wi-Fi, as far as 400 ft. I'm considering the E4200V2 for deployment in this medium-sized biz environment, but I want SNMP support. Is the E4200V2 a suitable choice? Several reviews have been favorable, but I find no mention of SNMP implementation.
I have a 2801 running c2801-spservicesk9-mz.124-3g.bin According to the Cisco IOS MIB locator the image supports OLD-CISCO-SYSTEM-MIB I have tried .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.55 etc to set server IP address and the filename string but without any luck.e.g.
Reason: (noSuchName) There is no such variable name in this MIB. Failed object: iso.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.55.a.b.c.d (where a.b.c.d is the server IP)
I have also tried the method similar to that for Cat 3550 switches where you create a table of entries to define the transfer paramaters then activate the transfer (I think the CISCO-CONFIG-COPY-MIB)
Clean up at the end - destroy .14 with the value of 6.
example output : - -- earlier output omitted -- Error in packet. Reason: (noSuchName) There is no such variable name in this MIB. Failed object: iso.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.96.1.1.1.1.4.111 Error in packet.
