Cisco WAN :: Upgrade IOS On Aironet 1200?
Jul 24, 2011at one of my Aironet 1200 the update through web interface of the IOS seems failing. THe webpage now looks damaged and not all points are availible.
I now want to update the IOS through telenet. A TFTP server is running and it is sharing the actual TAR-file.

Mar 9, 2013Once I got LAP1142N from ebay and converted from Lightweight to Autonomous via TFTP but I see there is new IOS came out so it required to upgrade Bootloader which is c1140-boot-m.124-23c.JA1.bin and IOS is c1140-k9w7-tar.152-2.JB.Currently 1142N running IOS c1140-k9w7-tar.124-25d.JA and Bootloader Version 12.4(18a)JA.For while few hours ago I kept figuring it out how to upgrade bootloader on website but none of these will work.

Sep 6, 2012We have some Cisco Aironet 1142N Autonomous access points installed, currently running 12.4(21a)JA1 IOS system software:
System Software Filename: c1140-k9w7-tar.124-21a.JA1
System Software Version: 12.4(21a)JA1
Bootloader Version: 12.4(23c)JA3
We tried to install the following Autonomous AP IOS software update:
Release 15.2.2-JA ED (c1140-k9w7-tar.152-2.JA.tar) 30-AUG-2012
But the 15.2.2-JA system software release does not install via TFTP Web-GUI (from a accessible PumpKIN TFTP-Server poining on that software update).
What's the problem with that?Is that system software release 15.2.2-JA ED (c1140-k9w7-tar.152-2.JA.tar) not compatible to the Cisco Aironet 1142N Autonomous access points

The IOS that are present in my access points are 12.3(8)AJ and 12.3(11)JX.

Dec 1, 2012I intend to upgrade to a dual band router and would like to replace the 1000 with a 6300. I need an extra antenna for the 6300, as I do not have a WWAN or Tv tuner fitted, is it possible to utilise the spare antenna for the 6300? If this is possible, I have read about white lists in the bios causing boot up error messages when using alternate cards, if purchased from Dell, will this be a problem?

The card is correctly installed (w/ 3 antennas) and the driver installed correctly but there seems to be a conflict with Dell Quickset utility which gives the error "WiFi Catcher band is not compatible". Tried uninstalling the Dell Quickset, but not sure it completely removed everything. Installed Intel PROset/Wireless but still unable to connect. Could not find a Quick set version for Win7 - from what I have read, it seems the Vista version is noted that it does not support 4965agn.

That’sall well and good but looking at the picture on Dell site it is about half the size as the one that is in the computer which is a Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN MiniCard. I don't think the 5100 will bolt in the slot, too short.

On Windows 7 I keep receiving the error message of ACL or Firewall is blocking. I have added rules and then even tried disabling the firewalls completely on both computers and still no success.

Aug 7, 2012I just bought an Aironet 600 OfficeExtend AP and hooked it up to my WLC 5500 but I can't configure it.
I've got 10 AP running just fine but the Aironet 600 shows operational status as "UP" (normal is "REG") and "Admin status", "AP Mode" and "AP Sub Mode" are all grayed out.
I installed the newest firmware on the WLC (ver 7.2.110.0) and it has upgraded the Aironet 600 as well.
I've read to through the installation manuals and from everything I can see I should be able to configure the Aironet 600 as soon as it contact WLC

Dec 5, 2012I have two cisco airenet 1252 autonamous access point that are configured as point to point bridge. Now I want to confiure AES encryption or WPA2 using a pre-shared key however I do not see the option to do this . The only option I see under ciphers are:

wep 40
TKIP

Is it possible to use either AES or WPA2 using a pre-shared key on the 1252 autonamous access point? preferably using the web interface.
Cisco :: Authentication With Aironet 1140
Aug 2, 2011I've set up a Cisco Aironet 1301 AP to be used for a guest network. I've got several other of the Aironet 1140-series around the business but none of them are in reach of this one at the moment.
The problem I have is that clients that try to connect to the AP are either not able to connect at all or lose their connection after some seconds. The config is more or less copied from the other APs with the same guest VLAN.

Sep 4, 2012I've recently obtained a Cisco Aironet 1242AG WAP. I do realize this is not a standalone router. I would like to use it as an extension of my current router. So right now, the status light is alternating colors. If I understand this correctly, it cannot find the controller. I cannot telnet into it, or use the web broswer interface. They both say the connection is not available. However, when I check my DHCP table from my router, I see that an IP has been assigned to the MAC for the WAP. I've tried doing a factory reset by holding MODE before I plug in the power, and waiting until it turns amber. After a few minutes and going through a few LED changes, it goes back to continuosly alternating colors.

Oct 21, 2011I am trying to configure an Aironet 1142 WAP model#AIR-AP1142n-A-K9. My setup is very basic, I have a router that acts as the DHCP server, the 1142n, and a PC. I am using the 1142n in Standalone AP mode no authentication, and have it working according to the [URL]. And it is working perfectly. My questions are as follows.
1. I have isolated the wireless users from seeing each other by using ap isolation, Can I prevent the wireless users from accessing the lan pc, router and WAP configuration pages? Is there any way to do that while still maintaining internet access? Basically I just want to provide my users wireless internet access without authentication but don't want them able to see each other or anything on the lan.
