Cisco :: Does Aironet 1131G Really Support EAP-SIM
Jun 5, 2013
I have tried to configure EAP-SIM authentication on Cisco Aironet 1131G for Wi-Fi Offload but unfortunately I couldnt make it work. As far as I understand the Wi-Fi standard it is fully supported in 802.11n within WPA2-Enterprise standard. I have read Cisco datasheet for 1131G where your are claiming that you support EAP-SIM in WPA2 also. I have tried to configure it according to configuration guide but it always requires to enter password key first when I try to connect to SSID with configured WPA2 and EAP-SIM. How to properly configure AP or confirm that EAP-SIM needed for seamless 3G/Wi-Fi authentication is supported only within WPA2-Enterprise.
Does the latest version of the Network Assistant support the AP1131AG / AP1131G model?
From the "supported device list" documentation it seems yes, but I've tried to import them into the map and received the message indicating that is not supported as a device...AP1242AG/1242G are not having this problem.
I need to configure 3 Cisco Aironet 1131g for use. Normally we use the Cisco Aeronet 802 and once these are connected onto the switch, I can log on the WLC, find them and change the name and other settings. For some reason I cannot see the Cisco 113g on any of the WLC.
We have been successfully using our Aironet 1140 AP in standalone mode with mainly Windows pcs & laptop users, and now, iPads and iPhones. All seem to connect happily through the 1140.
Recently we have a requirent to be able to use Apple's Airplay. Basically, it is not working through the 1140, it works ok via wired ethernet. Can the 1140 support Airplay? - If yes, what precisely must be enabled/configured?
We have a single Class C network without any Vlans. I understand multicast must be enabled, I can't see where to enable this. How to get this working if it is at all possible.
Okay, I'm working on a project and the company I work for wants to add 5 Ghz antenna's to their Aironet 1252's. Okay not a problem, except I've never worked with these routers before and I can't get the configuration set (). Once I get 'em on one I can get them all done.
We have Cisco Aironet 1240AG Wireless AP's in out network. Now, we have some PC's, laptops and mobile phones connected with with this AP and all devices are working fine. Now suddenly from today when I am trying to associate some new devices to the AP it is not working means the devices are not associating.
I just configured Aironet 3502i and it works ok but no lights. I could see the AP in switch, in WLC, and in WCS and ping ok but when you see it mounted it has no light. I tried to shutdown the port in the switch and I saw it turns green (booting), once it was registered in WLC the light will be off.
how I can configure the Aironet 3600e by Cisco without a WAN Controller. I know it's a controller based AP but I bought it in preparation for my new WiFi Network Design as I'm planning to deploy these APs together with a controller but at this stage all I need is just basic config so that I can see how good it will work in the environment I want to implement it. So I was wondering if there is some kind of default IP and Admin/ Password as I could not find the info on Cisco's website.
everyone can connect to the 1040 ap except my laptop and another one. for some reason it stopped showing , it was working fine and out of the blue nothing.
I was wondering if its possible to setup the Cisco Aironet 1260 as a WDS master with radius and another Cisco Aironet 1260 as a slave for seamless roaming. How many slaves can a WDS master handle?
I just bought an Aironet 600 OfficeExtend AP and hooked it up to my WLC 5500 but I can't configure it.
I've got 10 AP running just fine but the Aironet 600 shows operational status as "UP" (normal is "REG") and "Admin status", "AP Mode" and "AP Sub Mode" are all grayed out.
I installed the newest firmware on the WLC (ver 7.2.110.0) and it has upgraded the Aironet 600 as well.
I've read to through the installation manuals and from everything I can see I should be able to configure the Aironet 600 as soon as it contact WLC
I have two cisco airenet 1252 autonamous access point that are configured as point to point bridge. Now I want to confiure AES encryption or WPA2 using a pre-shared key however I do not see the option to do this . The only option I see under ciphers are:
wep 128 wep 40 TKIP
[Code].....
Is it possible to use either AES or WPA2 using a pre-shared key on the 1252 autonamous access point? preferably using the web interface.
I've set up a Cisco Aironet 1301 AP to be used for a guest network. I've got several other of the Aironet 1140-series around the business but none of them are in reach of this one at the moment.
The problem I have is that clients that try to connect to the AP are either not able to connect at all or lose their connection after some seconds. The config is more or less copied from the other APs with the same guest VLAN.
I've recently obtained a Cisco Aironet 1242AG WAP. I do realize this is not a standalone router. I would like to use it as an extension of my current router. So right now, the status light is alternating colors. If I understand this correctly, it cannot find the controller. I cannot telnet into it, or use the web broswer interface. They both say the connection is not available. However, when I check my DHCP table from my router, I see that an IP has been assigned to the MAC for the WAP. I've tried doing a factory reset by holding MODE before I plug in the power, and waiting until it turns amber. After a few minutes and going through a few LED changes, it goes back to continuosly alternating colors.
I am trying to configure an Aironet 1142 WAP model#AIR-AP1142n-A-K9. My setup is very basic, I have a router that acts as the DHCP server, the 1142n, and a PC. I am using the 1142n in Standalone AP mode no authentication, and have it working according to the [URL]. And it is working perfectly. My questions are as follows.
1. I have isolated the wireless users from seeing each other by using ap isolation, Can I prevent the wireless users from accessing the lan pc, router and WAP configuration pages? Is there any way to do that while still maintaining internet access? Basically I just want to provide my users wireless internet access without authentication but don't want them able to see each other or anything on the lan.
I need information about the Aironet 600 access point.I got a customer who want to deploy a guest WLAN on branch office with an authentication with a captive portal that is centralized. I would like to use the OfficeExtend functionnality with Aironet 600 Acces point & WLC 5508 or 2504 to centralize the traffic from all access points on the controller.
On those branch offices, there were a few "free access desktops" that need a copper link. I want those devices to be also authenticated by captive portal, so I want to connect them on the four 10/100 port of the access point. But it seems that we can only use one port as "corporate remote LAN", the threee others are just for "home LAN". Is it correct ? Is there any solution to configure the four ports as remote LAN interface ?
I think it was either the late 90's or early 2000's, I received 2 ap340 devices, didn't know what they were and what to do with them. I was in a program for beta testing through a company that would send items from various businesses, think that is where they came from. Anyway, fast forward to 2012, I want to use them for what they are. I would like to upgrade them to a firmware version that has better wireless security. What are my options with these 2 AP's, besides using them as paper weights? Also I have a USB to serial cable and try to connect to AP's using telnet, I thinik I bricked one! Don't really know what to do, other then spending many hours trying to do a factory reset, only to waste many hours trying to getting it connected.
I have two Cisco Aironet 1252 that I want to configure as a point-2-point bridge. Now I want to know if this configuration supports the 802.11n protocol.
I deleted the ios image form the aironet device from command line when i was trying to updgrade it.Now the aironet 1100 keeps rebooting.I've tried to hold down the mode for 30 seconds goes red, but keeps rebooting.
I am trying to poll the 5 minute average CPU utilization of my Cisco Aironet 1252 (IOS version 12.4(25d)JA) using SNMP OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.58.0.However for some reason I am not getting any response back from the aironet. Note I am able to retrive the memory utilization without a problem.
I need to configure SNMP on our company Aironet 1130. I am told there is a tool we can use that will allow us do the configuration from a PC vs connecting directly to the device.. If that is true, where can I download it?
I have found that there are only few configuration to the Cisco Aironet 600 OEAP. The settings are just for basic configuration for a wireless network when it is in autonomous mode.
A need for a Wireless LAN Controller to perform advance settings.
Also, there are no firmware available in Cisco. No upgrade/downgrade firmware avalaible for download.
