View 9 RepliesOkay, I'm working on a project and the company I work for wants to add 5 Ghz antenna's to their Aironet 1252's. Okay not a problem, except I've never worked with these routers before and I can't get the configuration set (). Once I get 'em on one I can get them all done.

I am using two Cisco Aironet 1252 (cisco AIR-AP1252AG-A-K9) to setup a point to point link (one is configured as root bridge and is as a non-root bridge). Both Aironets are running software version Version 12.4(25d)JA.
Is there a way that I can that I can perform an antenna alignment test on the Aironet that is configured as a non-root bridge?executing the following command dot11 dot11radio 0 ? does not show the antenna-alignemnet option.
I'm facing a problem on vWLC. I configured the vWLC and Aironet 1252, I created 2 SSID with below settings.
1. WPA2 Auth 802.1X
2. Web-Auth
Inside Wireless, I configured this AP Mode as "Local", but all of the client device such as iPhone, Laptop can't find these SSID.
I have 2 cisco Aironet 1252 setup as a point to point link using an external antenna (one radio is setup as the root bridge the other is setup as the non-root bridge). Now I see that the connection between the radios is established at a speed of 54 Mbps. However when I perform a speedtest on the link I see that the my actual download speed does not exceed the 2,5 Mbps. what can cause my actual speed to be far lower than the 54 Mbps? And what can I do to improve it?
View 16 Replies View RelatedI would like to add an additional antenna to a 1252 LAP but I'm unsure of a few things...
I know this LAP currently has at least a yogi directional antenna (AIR-ANT2410Y-R) and also a ( AIR-ANT2485P-R) connected to it. The access point is in a ceiling so I cannot view the connections but according to this data sheet, { URL } each of the antennas I've specified require 3 per AP. I am only aware of 1 of each being used so not sure why 3 would be required?
Also on my 1252 1 side has 3, 2.4Ghz connections for antennas, TX, TX&RX, and RX. If I want to only use 1 AIR-ANT2410Y-R, would this be connected to the TX&RX port? Do all antennas support transmit and receive or are there some that only support TX and others that only support RX or is this based only how you configure the antennas? On the other side of the access point there are 3, 5Ghz antenna connections.
I found a few older forum posts and documents online discussing how to create multiple SSIDs on 1 1252 AP using the WLC and they state that VLANs are needed for the interface and then I've read that multiple SSIDs on 1 interface are also possible. I'm not sure on how to actually configure this. I would like my 2.4Ghz radio on the 1252 to be associated with the current SSID in production and the 5Ghz band associated with another SSID that's in production. I couldn't find an option in the WLC or anything stated in the documents I've read about how to associate the radio band with the SSID.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just bought an Aironet 600 OfficeExtend AP and hooked it up to my WLC 5500 but I can't configure it.
I've got 10 AP running just fine but the Aironet 600 shows operational status as "UP" (normal is "REG") and "Admin status", "AP Mode" and "AP Sub Mode" are all grayed out.
I installed the newest firmware on the WLC (ver 7.2.110.0) and it has upgraded the Aironet 600 as well.
I've read to through the installation manuals and from everything I can see I should be able to configure the Aironet 600 as soon as it contact WLC

On my Accespoint i have 2 vlans: 1 for my wifi phones and 1 for my network.Wifi Lan has the SSID LAN with WPA enterprise authentication to a radius server(ms server 2008).Wifi Phone has SSID PHONE and vlan 50 with local radius authentication. This Works all fine, Except when i enable AP for my wifi phones. When AP is enabled the authentication for my lan doesn’t go to my server but local. How do I configure my accesspoints so that the cisco phones use the local radius server with AP and my windows computers connect using the ms radius server?
I am in the process of installing an Aironet 1140 standalone AP. I have not worked with these AP's before. I will be connecting it to one of the PoE ports on the existing ASA 5505. My goal is to have 2 SSID's, one for internal network and one for guest internet only, no access to internal LAN. I want to have the internal wifi clients and the guest clients on seperate IP networks. The internal clients obtain DHCP from the existing server and use the ASA DHCP server for the guest clients. And of course, I would like the ability to manage the AP from the internal network. I am providing copies of my current configs for both the ASA and Aironet.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with a 1252 LAP that is connected to the WLC over a WAN link.Basically, it won't associate. The following is taken from a console into the LAP:
*Mar 1 00:00:07.799: %LINK-3-UPDOWN: Interface GigabitEthernet0, changed state to up
*Mar 1 00:00:08.799: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface GigabitEthernet0, changed state to up
*Mar 1 00:00:26.851: %LWAPP-5-CHANGED: LWAPP changed state to DISCOVERY
*Mar 1 00:00:27.003: Logging LWAPP message to 255.255.255.255.
[code].....
The ap-manager interface is configured correctly and there isn't a duplicate IP address. The LAP was initially stand alone and was converted to LWAPP.The MTU over the WAN link is 1500 bytes. All I'm getting from the WLC debugs is:
Mon Jul 20 11:42:59 2009: 00:22:xx:xx:xx:xx Received LWAPP DISCOVERY REQUEST from AP 00:22:xx:xx:xx:xx to 00:19:xx:xx:xx:xx on port '29'
Mon Jul 20 11:42:59 2009: 00:22:xx:xx:xx:xx LWAPP Discovery Request AP Software Version: 0x3003300
Mon Jul 20 11:42:59 2009: 00:22:xx:xx:xx:xx Successful transmission of LWAPP Discovery Response to AP 00:22:xx:xx:xx:xx on port 29
So basically the join messages don't seem to reach the WLC. In fact they don't even seem to reach the local router on the remote subnet. The discovery packets are seen on the local router but the joins don't seem to appear at all.I'm not sure if it's a latency issue. Average latency over the WAN link is under 70ms.I'm assuming the certificate on the WAP is MIC and the MAC details have been entered into the WLC AP Security policies for authentication. I'm not seeing any debugging messages relating to bad authentication at all.I can't debug from the LAP as it's LWAPP, obviously. We're running WLC version 4.2.130.0.
it is possible to wide the range of powerconsumtion on this switch from 15.4W up to 20W? We will rollout some accesspoints with 2 radiomodules on CISCO AP1252, but the Powerconsumtion of this AP then ist 18.5W. The max allowed from firmware is 15.4W like 802.11n-standard.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have Cisco 1252 APs in my network and also a WLC with software 7.0.98.0 and a WCS system. In certain areas I have an SSID with 2 or more APs configured as part of the group. Some users are connecting to the SSID on the weaker AP when there is a much stronger signal available from a different AP.I have looked into this issue before and have been told it's a porblem with the client's Wireless NIC or the drivers. The issue is I'm using the most updates drivers on some users and it makes no difference. Although it may be a problem with my clients I need to fix this on Cisco's AP side. What are my options? I believe MAC filtering is only per SSID so that would defeat the purpose, can I filter by specific AP and still allow the user to connect to the SSID? Or should I seperate the APs from the 1 SSID and create multiple SSIDs so the user can select the stronger network?

View 4 Replies View Relatedwe want to have full wireless coverage in a big warehouse (120mx90m) and 15 meter Height that will be having big racks (14 meters height) and 2 meter between the racks and the rack itself is 1.5 meter (2 rack back to back), now we will be having scanners and we need to make sure the wireless is covering everywhere.Where is the best place to put the AP, Ceiling? How Many APs per row ? each row will be around 60 meters length.
Is AP 1252 a good choice? The scanners are a/b/g.What i'm thinking of is to put 1 AP per row mounted on the ceiling and antennas facing down because it is hard to mount the APs between the rack because of the automated racking system.
