I am receiving the following error on 3750 stack switches. have already verified the power status and found ok.

I have a 6509-E with redundant 3000W power supplies (WS-CAC-3000W) but one supply is current non-operational.From the outputs I'm not sure whether the issue is (more likely to be) with the supply to the PSU or the PSU itself, i.e. whether my first action should be to get an electrian to check the supply or fault call the PSU with our maintenance providers and have it replaced?

I'm guessing no as I read that the switch will not recognize a 1400W PSU in bay 2 if there is still an original 1000W PSU in bay 1.

we have 2 catalyst 4507 Switches (Catalyst 4507-R running 15.1.2.release) configured in VRRP and vlans are distributed across both the switches. For few vlans core1 is master and for remaining vlans core2 is master. Both cores showing different CPU utilization.when we did our troubleshooting,we realized that the server vlan on core1 (Core1 is master for this vlan) is creating high utilization.when we switched this server vlan to core2 the core1 utilization came down and core2 utilization increased.we identified that server vlan is culprit in this issue. i would like to know weather any method is available in core switch wherein i can check which server in this vlan is contributing for this utilization.(To identify the server which contribute this utilization,we can actually shut 1 server each at time to see weather utilization is going down.with this kind of testing ideally we should be able to identify the server but this will disturb the server environment which we don't want in live environment)

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am looking to upgrade my home wifi from a Linksys WRT54G running DD-WRT to something that will handle .11n. I've been looking at the Unifi PoE APs. Their base model support N, but only on 2.4GHz, and only has a 100Mb port. I was concerned about that being a limiting factor. They've recently released a new line that supports Dual Band and has a Gig port, but it cost about 4 times as much. Here are my goals:
1.) PoE if possible. Currently the AP is my rack in the basement. I'l thinking of running an additional cable to somewhere central on the first floor and putting the AP there for better coverage/signal. Running just a CAT 5e cable is much easier than having to supply power as well. Second thought was to get two Unifi APs and setup a mesh with roaming, which it looks like they support, for best coverage. In that case I'd put one in a top floor room that already has CAT 5e.
2.) I'd really prefer access points to a router. I already have a pfsense box that does the routing. If this means getting something that will run DD-WRT, Tomato, or the like and turning it into an AP fine.
3.) I would like something that is dual band .11n.
4.) Something that support RADIUS
5.) Multiple SSID support and VLAN support. I want to be able to offer at least 2 separate networks.
So am I stuck buying the Unifi dual band AP? Or should I get something like the Asus RT-N66U and put Tomato on it?Does anyone have acutal expreience with the Unifi products?
I'm using a Catlyst 3550 to supply power to a IP network surveliance camera. By default, the predecesor to POE, Cisco Inline Power allocates 15.4 W of power to a port ... What is the process for reducing this power output?
"For an IEEE device, the switch always allocates 15.4 W to the port. The switch does not display the IEEE class type in the show power inline privileged EXEC command output. Instead, it displays n/a."
I have several 2960s and 3750s and two 6506 (ws-cac-3000w) recently move to new location The power outlet is the same ,but Volt is different current 2960/3750 use this(one phase 3 wire) 220v and new location change to (from 3 phase 4 wire -> one phase 220v)6506 current using(one phase 3 wire) and will be change to (from 3 phase 4 wire -> one phase 220v)
I had search doc about power supply /cable , only show support single phase 220 v ,but not description vlot between each wire !!Does new location power outlet suit for 2960/3750s power and 6500 ws-cac-3000w ?!? Do I need chane power outlet back to current using?
I have a 2960S connected to an RSP 2300. The 2960S is currently running off of the RPS, and I would like to switch it back to the internal power supply. Can I just run "power supply 1 on"? Will this cause the switch to reboot? Also I am concerned because when I do a show env power it shows: [code]
Is it normal for the internal power supply to show Unavail when running off RPS?

I keep getting alerts from our WCS stating that our 1252s are drawing low power. Now I am aware that they require enhanced PoE (up to 20W) but as we only have standard PoE in that building we purchased the 1252 series power injectors to go with them.
However, even with the correct power injectors the WCS still reports the draws low power error.
Is this a bug? Running WCS 7.0.172 at the moment.
Forgot to say we are using the PWR-INJ4 and the injector status is enabled and you see the injector MAC address when you drill in to the AP status.
We have two switches of the same model (WS-C3560-48PS-S) that are not providing PoE. I'm trying to remotely determine what the cause of the issue is.
Here is some output.

I have a 6500 chassis with 2 power supplies. At the moment I am using the default configuration:
power-redudancy mode redundant
The problem is that an inserted module is in "power deny" state due too insufficient power.
I know, that It's not a good idea to change into combined mode (loss of redundancy), but my customers requested this anyway.
So I will change to combined mode. So here's the 1 million dollar question: "Which modules will go into power deny, if one of my power supplies fails?"
The 6500 config guide states:
"Power supply is removed withredundancy disabled
• System log and syslog messages are generated.
• System power is decreased to the power capability of one supply.
• If there is not enough power for all previously powered-up modules, some modulesare powered down and marked as power-deny in the show power oper state field."
Well, do you know if there's any way to configure some kind of priority? E.g. I definetly don't want by 10Gig Module or WiSM module to be in power deny. Can i statically make sure, those module will be powered on for sure? Like: "power enable module slot_number" How is this calculated? Or is random?
In a stand alone 3750x switch configuration, can the secondary power supply only act as a redundant power supply (active/standby), or can it become a "pool" of power similar to power sharing mode for StackPower (somewhat active/active)? I understand there is no stack involved here but I'm curious if this functionality is possible.
