View 3 RepliesThe regular problem with the LMS topology and WAN Links when you see the branches are disconnected from the HQ BUT in my case the branches are already connected via Layer2 links but unfortunately some intermediate layer2 modem/switch exist in some branches which prevent CDP discovery but you will find both HQ and branch router in the same subnet .
View 1 Replies View RelatedI work with the topology view in LMS 4.1. I can see all the links between the differrent switches (N7K, 3750, 3040).I miss only the links between the different N7K's. This links have one special thinks: they are configured as " rate-mode dedicated force" In the N7K cli this interfaces are displayed with the SN too.
sw-bb13# show cdp ne.The links to sw-bb11 and sw-bb21 are not painted in the topoloyview.
We have a problem with the Layer2 view of the Topology java applet in Cisco Prime LMS 4.2.The Layer2 view shows all the ethernet interfaces links but not the ones in the serial interfaces. All devices have CDP and SNMP (read-only) enabled, and theirs neighbors can be seen with "show cdp neighbors" in both sides of those links.
View 4 Replies View Relatedim trying to figure out the right way of configuring cdp on devices so that they dont show the links as etherchannels segments linked together, i have several port-channels in the network and the layer 2 view seems all messy.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter some time LMS stops to refresh network topology (not changing colors for devices which lost/found). However, if I restart topology services devices are refreshed.
Checked the processes. Everything is fine but there is a process named "1018". But I did not found any job with this number.
i create a network topology ( i attached picture) and i don't know what exactly IP addresses should be assigned to routers and switches + there should be five VLAN's created and just one vlan (vlan 2) must see others vlans (for management purposes) and others vlans should not see each other. So i need that: 1) What IP addresses should be on routers and switches 2) How to create a 5 vlans, that they should not see each other, but one should see all, for example where i have to put "tagged" ports where "untagged" or "not member" ports etc.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe currently support a third party VOIP software. Recently we have had issues with our T38 faxing to our SIP Trunk provider because our FW (sonicwall) doesn't support Nating the connection address within the SDP packet of the T.38 reinvite. This has caused us to look at alternate solutions. I have been in discussion with CISCO sales engineers and can't get a straight answer on which one of their products support this(RFC 3362, T.38 protocol used by our VOIP server)We were looking at replacing our sonicwall with an ASA but it seems it doesn't support RFC 3362 either . However, the sales engineer thinks that their regular routers will. So If I purchase a cisco router, i.e 8xx or 2621XM the question is where do I put it in my current topograpy. Currently we our at a Datacenter and our drop into our cabinet comes right into the Sonicwall and we have all NAT handled there, routing to different LAN ports on the Sonicwall. On LAN side all we have are standard switches supporting all of our Servers.
If I buy a Cisco router to handle my NAT issue for faxing.Do I put it on the WAN or LAN side of my FW?Do I setup the router to handle all of my NATing or just the NATing of my VOIP server that is having issues with the T.38? Would I need a Sonicwall FW if I purchased a CISCO 891?
As we know when multiple PCs share same link"line" they will need multiple access protocol like CSMA/CD to protected from collision,,share link like "bus topology" need multiple access protocol "CSMA/CD" but in star topology"switch not hub" PC0 connect to port0 ,,PC1 connect to port1 PCn connect to portn then every PC connect to separate port ,, and the switch mange the network"by using MAC" then why we need to used CSMA/CD in star topology"switch"???
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a problem where clients cannot roam between Cisco 1231g-e-k9 and recently installed cisco 1242g-e-k9 access points.. On looking at the CDP option on the 1231 and 1242 access points they are all aware of each other. However if I use the Network View option I see a different picture. All the 1231 access points can see each other but not see the 1242's. Network View on the1242 shows all the 1231's but none of the 1242's. The 1231 are running ver. 12.3(8)JEB and the 1242's are running ver. 12.4(21a)JA1.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to see if I can fix my friend's NAS which apparently has some pretty important data on it that wasn't saved anywhere else. They actually had the Geeksquad look at it and they've come to the same conclusion I have so far, but I figured I would ask the internet before I gave the thing back to them and said Geeksquad was right.
Anyways, they have this 5 drive RAIDed NAS which apparently just stopped showing up on their network. I borrowed it from them to see if I could figure it out. It turns on just fine and my router assigns it an IP address, but the IP address just takes me to a blank LaCie dashboard screen. It's weird because it's clearly running it's web server because it's just a gray background with an empty white box and "(c) LaCie 2010" at the bottom. No content at all.
Additionally, I tried installing the LaCie Network Assistant on my home computer and it says it cannot find any network disks. I've tried the "wake up a device" where I enter the mac address, but that doesn't do anything.
All the lights are solid blue on the front and over all the drives so it doesn't appear a drive has failed or something. Even so, that wouldn't really explain the blank dashboard right?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a wireless router. The first time I connected my computer to it, it worked. I went in to change the network password, and after that, it stopped working. Every single other device I have will connect, including other laptops, but this one won't. In the network and sharing center it shows that my network is available, but it will not connect. I have tried everything I can think of. I have looked all over the internet, nd still can't figure it out!!!! My computer's wifi IS on so its not that. The only thing that the trouble shooter tells me to do is unplug the router and restart it and that has not worked after several tries. Also is there a way to reset the computers recognition of networks? Im wondering if that would work if I could completely restart the process again, but I dont know how to get to that. I have a dell inspiron with windows 7.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter Irene, we kept power and cable, but our internet went down, or so we thoughtWhen we plug the Ethernet cable from the modem into the computer, internet works fine (I can post this, after all), but when we plug the cable from the modem into our Dell TrueMobile 2300 router, our network appears as "Local Only." The phone cable thing is plugged from the wall into the modem, and the ethernet cable goes from the modem to the router, as it has been for years.

I recently build a Frankenstein desktop, or at least that's what I'm calling.I started out replacing the motherboard in a HP Pavillion p6130y desktop. After some research I found that the stock motherboard as pretty outdated so I decided to go aftermarket.I wanted to replace as little as possible but now the only original parts are the dvd drive and network card. The network card has to screws on the back to attach an antenna and is a PCI1x card.
I now have a problem where after installing the card and Windows 7 Professional , I can see the list of available wireless networks including my own. But, I cannot connect to any of them even though my own network has full signal strength.
Replaced a router. My windows 7 laptop will not connect & shows nothing in the network window. It is like a setting on the computer has been changed.

I need to know why I am losing internet connectivity like around nighttime, late. I keep losing internet on both IPv4 and IPv6! It both said "No Internet Access" Then later IPv6 said "No Network Access" That's the problem i am having on my personal laptop computer. I really am furious that I lost internet connection around 12:15, 12:30, 12:50, 1:30, 2:15, 2:30, and 3:30 A.M. i suddenly lost internet right there. And I heard the internet crew shuts down the internet system every nighttime and fixing it. I want to know why they need to fix it, how long will the repairs last ?

I have done the following:
reboot(derp)
reinstall drivers
move wifi adapter
disable IPv6

and no, i am not able to reinstall windows. I am going to try (soon, i am not able to just yet) direct ethernet to my router. all other PCs in the house are working perfectly, even this one that is slow as crap because it has windows 7 and is designed for windows XP.
