Cisco :: LMS 4.2.1 - Legacy Menu Is Completely Empty
Jun 13, 2012
After an upgrade from LMS 4.2 to 4.2.1 Legacy menu is completely empty. Is it a bug? If it's empty, how to get to some of DFM options (like rediscovery, discovery status etc.) They seem not present in "Site map".
I saw the announcement stating that "200 and 300 Switches now supports Cisco Pre-standard POE" available here:[URL]However, I cannot find the 1.1.1.8 firmware for the SG200-08P in the download center (latest is 1.0.1.0).Does this mean this doesn't apply to the SG200-08P?If it doesn't apply, any other switches with 16 or less all gigabit ports which support legacy PoE?
As stated in the attached picture, my company has a remote office which its PBX was connected to the main PBX via a pair of leased lines and a pair of E1/HDSL converters. (The distance is about 2 kilometers, so the E1 was converted to HDSL and then back to E1 at the remote site)
Now, IP network is developed between two sites. We want to transfer the calls via a pair of 2811 Routers, both equipped with VWIC2-1MFT-T1/E1, as the second part of the picture. I tried to find an straightforward document, but I was unsuccessful. What configurations should be made at both ends to transfer the calls to/from the remote site ?
We have a legacy client/server application, an OCR system. The server runs on Windows 2003 R2. We have client machines running happily on Windows XP.We have for a while had problems with getting the clients to run on Windows 7. Some machines wouldn't work, others worked intermittently, one worked consistently. By a process of elimination I discovered that the one working consitently was on a desk where we had put a small 8 port 3Com gigabit switch on the desk to give us more network ports. If I move this switch to any other desk to one of the non-working clients and connect them using the same uplink but going through the desktop switch they start working. The XP clients work fine using any of the network switches. None of the 100+ devices on our network (desktops, laptops, VoIP phones, printers etc) are showing any other signs of network issues, only this OCR application. The application was last updated in 2004, so was not designed for Vista or 7, essentially the vendor is no longer updating it, but say that as far as they are aware it works with Windows 7.why adding a 3Com 3c1670800B switch between the client and the rest of the network should make the application work with Windows 7. Whilst I have a workaround for the problem I'm uneasy that I don't understand the root cause, and if I was to press ahead and move the client machines to Win7, the whole system depends on a single piece of kit that's now discontinued and I only have one of. It all seems pretty counter-intuitive to me that an application should be sensitive to low level network hardware.
Connecting a legacy Nortel switch (425/450/470/BPS) to a Nexus 7000 via gigabit fiber? I have a customer trying to do it and they say that the connection never comes up. The support on the Nortel stuff is long since expired, so Avaya is not being particularly useful. Apparently Cisco says the issue is "fast link pulse to the BayStack to determine the capabilities of the uplink and the BayStack is returning all zeros." I have not verified this and actually have not yet gotten my hands on the Nexus side of things
after upgrading from Prime LMS 4.1 to 4.2 (Windows version) the "All Devices" group and all the other system defined groups are empty.
The "Inventory dashboard" shows 397 reachable devices which is correct. I can access the devices when I type the name into the search field in the upper right corner of the LMS page.
When I open a device selector (e.g. from the "Device Management" tab) all system defined groups are empty.
When I make a new user defined group with the definition "IP address contains '1'" I get a group with all devices.
LMS 3.2 can't open Manu Device Troubleshooting only begin I will check manu Device Troubleshooting but LMS 3.2 can't show detail about Device and show error on windows.I need fuction Device Troubleshooting becouse ATP customer.
I have a two routers running from one connection first the master which is a Dlink dg500 - i think all is fine there. Secondly I have a slave router running all the wired/wireless things in the kids rooms its a netgear and when i say 'slave' I figured out if you put the input from the first router into port1 instead of input it works as a slave.
Problem is I need to get into the router menu on the netgear, it was ip add 192.168.1.1 then when i slaved it it was 10.0.0.1 - (I think) but I have tried recentley to get onto it and can't for the life of me. I have tried wirelessly and through ethernet cable but can't get the menu.
I have run a netconfig jobs in LMS 4.2.1 with these settings: [code] After running the job the "Device Details" of the jobs say "Successful Devices" for all three switches:"Deploy successful (Primary Login Succeeded / Primary Enable Succeeded )" For the devices switch-1 and switch-2 I get the desired output: [code]. Why there is no output although the job is successful?
I would like to empty my LMS 3.2 DB and re-discover all of my devices again. What is the best way to do this besides wiping the software and reinstalling?
I have a problem with the ACS 5.2 configuration: I am trying to use the AAA authorization to centralize privileges and commands but only the privilege level is sent to router, the command set aren't sent.
The test cenary is this:
ACS 5.2Router 2900 family IOS 15.0 The ACS is configured with:
Shell Profiles (to match with a privilege level), Command Sets (with the command list), Service Selection Rules (to set to one service) and Authorization (to assign one shell profile and one command set).
The router is configured with the follows commands:
I try access with Serial cable blue DB09 / RJ45 on console port and serial ports on PC using putty or hyperterminal but any connection can not be done. The screen stay black and not show any text.
The computer found the port COM1 but i csn not access any information from Cisco router model 1841
I am having issues playing certain games on my ps3. So I've been searching for solutions and I came across a video that wanted me to go to run/cmd/ipconfig. I have little knowledge of computers but I'm not sure that what my ipconfig is showing is supposed to be there. At first I googled and learned about ipv6 addresses because i found that weird but i think that checks out fine. I then googled about the weird numbers and letters in my default gateway and came up empty. Is there a reason thats there?
I have seen some discussion in the forums regarding user defined groups being empty in LMS 4.0 but not 4.1. I am having this issue in 4.1. Under User Defined groups, I have created 2 logical groups named "Physical Location" and "Switches". These do not contain any actual devices, they are just containers for other groups. Under the Physical Location logical group I have created 2 other groups, Acuna and Hampton. Under the Switches group I have also created 2 groups, HDM and HHC. The criterion for the Physical Location group is based on the first 3 characters of the hostname:
Device.System.Name startswith "hdm"
The criterion for the Switches group is based on the value of a user defined field, Admin_responsibility:
Device.Admin_responsibility equals "HDM"
The Physical Location groups work - the Switches group does not. Both the HDM and the HHC group should contain several devices. The HDM group contains 2, the HHC contains none. If I edit the groups and click "next" until I get to step 3, Membership: Edit, the "objects matching criteria" list is fully populated - it contains the devices that it should contain. However, after I click "Finish" and go to Inventory => Add / Import / Manage Devices there is no change in group membership - the HDM group contains 2 devices and the HHC group contains none.
I want to do something with IP SLA and started by estabilishing a baseline.
I'm trying to check history on an ASR. I tested same config on a 3845 and was forgetting the "history filter all". After this I could see history table on 3845 but still history is empty on the ASR1006. The operation started because I can see information with "show ip sla statistics".
know if i missed something or maybe this is not supported in ASR1006?

Using EMM as a nice friendly interface for their terminal server (ie router with NM-16A and octal cables)?when I ask the framework to run the following command it gets stuck will a blinking cursor and clear screen
I was configuring a new unit straight out of the box to test a configuration for a client. I got most of of the configuration done and was noticing the menus were quirky and so I check to firmware and discovered it was 1.1.16 (* down level).
I finished my setup and rebooted to complete the changes, when I went back to log into the console it would Actively refuses to connect . the first time after powering on it shows the page title as setup before failing
I have tried a hard reset ( 15 Seconds reset) but it does not work . it doesn't even reset the settings. (static IP etc still there)
Just bought myself a TP-Link WN722N Wirless Adapter. Currently I have a Netgear WNA3100 connected which works fine but I to use the TP-Link to connect to a second network simultaneously. Here's the problem. The drivers installed just fine for the TP-Link adapter. Windows shows that its connected as a USB device (USB2.0 WLAN) and Network & Sharing Centre shows it is being "Wireless Network Connection 4"(The Netgear one shows as "Wireless Network Connection 2")However, when i try to use the TP-Link one to connect to a network, it doesn't show up in the "Network Connections" menu on the Taskbar, and when i disconnect the Netgear one it says that it can't find any wireless connections at all; note that "Network & Sharing Centre" still shows the TP-Link Adapter as being connected to the PC).Tried Reinstalling the TP-Link Software, updating it, etc. Restarted PC. Disabled Netgear connection. Physically Disconnected Netgear Adapter and still no luck.
I am trying to copy a setup from a Nortel IAX100 where the carrier provides two ATM PVC's over ADSL - one for voice (VoIP) and one for data (IP). Relevant lines from the backup of the IAX's configuration include the following for the PPP authentication over the voice circuit:
The null username and password for the PPP connection have me a bit stumped. Does the PPP connection not use any authenetication at all? (Is that possible/likely? How could I deubg it?) Or does does the IAX100 supply a chap/pap response with null credentails? (If so, how would I duplicate that using an instruction to a dialer interface?I am configuring an 877 with 12.4T and advanced IP services.
I replaced old cisco router 2811 with new one 2921 , all works except crypto map VPNs routers can ping each other , ACLs are not applied to outbound interfaces show crypto isakmp sa is empty after i make same configuration on a new router 2921 config.
after switching from a very old ACS 3.2 to ACS 5.2 I'm wondering on how to specify an empty argument in a command set.
Example:
I want to permit: write but I don't want to permit: write terminal write erase write network write core and so on.
If I specify command="write" and leave the argument field empty, every argument is allowed. This would also permit "write erase" what I don't want.
In ACS 3.2 I could specify command="write" and argument="^<cr>$". This does exacly what I want. The command write with an empty argument is allowed. If there is any argument, the command is denied.
In ACS 5.2 if I enter the same string in the argument field, the "<cr>" is filtered out and in the config is now only the string "^$" which is not working.
how to specify an empty argument?
BTW: ACS View shows only [ CmdAV=write ] in the logs...
while working with Cisco's CNA (Cisco Network Assistant) on a 2960 switch, any change done by this tool is sent out as an empty set of commands, to a TACACS server to approve.
I have 2960 switch, a PC with CNA on it and brand new ACS 5.2. This switch is set up for TACACS+ authorization. While working with TELNET/SSH, all commands are authorized properly. When doing "debug aaa authorization", you can see the commands are being sent to a TACACS server (as expected) for approval. And what is more important – within the debug output every command appears at "AV CMD= …" and "Arguments = …" Those commands seen by the ACS and approved correctly. But, when working with CNA, those fields (i.e. av cmd and arguments) are empty in the first place. Hence all what ACS does see are "empty commands" and no clue for the correct ones (say, changing interface's description). The HTTP server has it set of authorization commands.
I have a case for an LMS 4.0 running in a Live environement (With devices already discovered and organized into seperate groups), where the Device Credential and repository DCR is showing suddenly as empty and only i can see the groups listed, but without any devices in them (Through Inventory > Device Administration > Add/Import/Manage Devices). After a restart of the whole LMS server a few weeks ago, the problem was fixed and the devices appeared again, but now the same issue re-appeared.
after recovering from the PPPoE-port-forwarding-fiasco I had with the RV180 (url...), I decided to try again with a Small Business Router from Cisco. This time I took the RV042G, hoping that the higher age of this product comes with a more mature firmware. So far the functions I need, work satisfying. There is only one issue: The subnet-mask is only configurable using a dropdown-menu. I've read the posts from the Cisco-Support staff saying, that this is because it is only a SMB Router. So, we are a small business and we use the 172.20.x.y net for several reasons. One of it is to distinguish and group several network devices using the third block of the IP. Eg. our printers IPs start with 172.20.5.x and so on.
My question is: Is it really impossible to change the subnet-mask dropdown-menu to a simple text-field in the frontend? Because it is possible to change the subnet to whatever one needs by a little cURL-magic: [code] This sets the new subnet-mask permanently (even survives a reboot and is displayed correctly on the system-status page) and I have not discovered any problems. The only thing is, if you change settings on the setup -> network page, the netmask is reset and you have to rerun this script.
We currently have an issue with our main ISE. When logged in using the admin account (member of superadmin group) we no longer see the Profiling button/menu and also missing oter options in the GUI. On another standalone ISE we do see al those options?
Both are running on the same software version 1.1.1.268.We are using ISE 3395-K9 appliances
