Cisco :: Multiple Routers Nat To One Server?

May 3, 2012

I have a job with a budget-limited client who has three Cisco RV042 dual-WAN routers. They had hoped to establish rather seamless *inbound* service, which doesn't seem to be the real purpose for these units, they appear to be designed for bandwidth aggregation and/or rather seamless *outbound* service.Since they have three of these routers, and three broadband connections (two different 5 IP blocks at one ISP, one 5 IP block at a second ISP) I am toying with the idea of using one router per broadband, and configuring each router for One-to-One NAT, dispensing with the dual-WAN redundancy feature. Each router will come from a different public subnet, yet have a one-to-one NAT to the *same* internal server, for instance:

Router 1 - 74.92.X.X ---> NAT ---> 192.168.1.100
Router 2 - 67.78.X.X ---> NAT ---> 192.168.1.100
Router 3 - 97.76.X.X ---> NAT ---> 192.168.1.100

The routers will be configured on the same subnet internally. 192.168.1.1, 192.168.1.2, and 192.168.1.3 respectively. I'll use weighted multiple default gateways on the server's IP configuration, to establish their default and failover gateways. My question is, does configuring multiple routers for one-to-one NAT to the *same* server cause any conflict or failure? You know, of the "sorry bub that private interface is already sucked up by router 1 and I can't do this" nature?

Cisco Routers :: Multiple Internal Web Server RV042

Aug 15, 2012

We have setup a new internal web server so now we have two internal web server and both or hosting sites on port 80. Currently we have port 80 forwarding to one of the web servers and users are able to hit it from the outside.

Is there any way to configure the RV042 to route web traffic to the correct web server by using the site name or dns?  If a user puts in the address{URL}, be routed to one web server but if they put in {URL}, be routed to our second web server.   I've checked with our vendors and the both web servers applications need to run on port 80.  If we have forwarding setup on the RV042 to forward port 80 to web1 then users can't access web2 from the outside?

Multiple Public IPs To Route To Server?

Jan 17, 2012

we need to implement a scalable solution where we can provide for each customer it's own public IP so that they can access some content restricted by IP range.the solution consists of a proxy software that will "listen" to multiple IP's, then reroute the HTTP requests and rewrite the URL's to a different format.Anyways, we came to the conclusion that what we need is the following:

- broadband line with a pool of 8 IP's
- a router that can support multiple IP's
- a server

what kind of router or device is required for this kind of configuration. basically the network diagram will be like this:

Internet ----> broadband -------> cable modem ------ > multiple static IP router -------> server NIC

we should be able to add the same above combination once we run out of IP's, another broadband line, another device and server ...

Setting Multiple Computers To Run One Teamspeak Server?

Dec 11, 2012

My friends and I want to set up a better Teamspeak 3 server but Don't want to spend the money to rent one. We currently have a friend who runs the server on his computer but it is unreliable. We are wondering if we could have multiple computers support one server. So that if one computer fails the server would still get supported by other computers that are supporting the server. Also what would be some recommended hardware stats to run this server.

So I'm asking, can we have multiple computers support a single Teamspeak 3 server?

D-Link DIR-625 - DNS Server Not Responding Multiple Times A Day

Dec 28, 2012

For the last several months, but progressively worse, my internet drops due to the DNS Server not responding. This happens across my whole network and the only fix I can come up with is to reset the router every time it does this. At this point I am thinking a new router is in order (but do not have the money atm), I am using a D-Link DIR-625 V. C1 Firmware 3.08 router and a Motorola SB6120 modem. Is there another permanent fix for this problem is or my router on it's last legs? Would setting a new DNS Server on my router work?

Home Network :: Hosting Multiple Websites On Server?

Jan 8, 2012

I had setup 2 servers at home. I'm now in need of hosting 4 websites. I have 4 static public ip's. I'm currently using a router with DD-WRT firmware installed. I have setup up as static NAT. X.X.X.27 to 192.168.0.100, X.X.X.28 to 192.168.0.101. This is my current setup for the existing 2 webservers which host a website each. I notice apache allows for multiple websites per server. One of the server's is a dell 2500 with 2 NIC's and will not be a problem assigning two ip's. The second server only has 1 NIC. Should I buy another NIC card for the second server or could I get by using a virtual NIC? The load on the servers isnt heavy. Only bout 20 clients connect to them daily.

Cisco Routers :: SRP547W - Multiple WAN IPs?

Mar 18, 2012

There are a few discussions on this topic but nothing I can find indicated definativley shows that this can be done with this model.I have an ADSL service that came with 1 IP address and then we later purchased an additional 4 IPs (2 usable) for the same service. On our network we have SBS2011 and also a dedicated web server. What I would like to do is forward HTTPS to the web server on our inital IP and then forward https for OWA  to one of the IPs on the additional set.Our initial IP is xxx.yyy.104.112 which I would like to forward port 443 to  192.168.0.12 - web server

The additional IPs are :

aaa.bbb.30.24 (Gateway Address)
aaa.bbb.30.25
aaa.bbb.30.26 - I would like to forward this to 192.168.0.2 - SBS box
aaa.bbb.30.27

I have tried as suggested in other thread setting up a software DMZ that sends public IP aaa.bbb.30.26 to 192.168.0.12. The xxx.yyy.104.112 to 192.168.0.12 works with a port 443  forward fine.

When I do this I cant connect from outside. If I change the port forward on 443 to go to 192.168.0.2 I can get to the SBS box from outside using the aaa.bbb.30.26 address .I have also tried creating a subinterface for the aaa.bbb.30.24 addresses and this also doesnot seem to work. Just I am basically asking for confirmation that this can be done with this model, I have put in the latest firmware.

Cisco Routers :: SRP-521W With Multiple WAN IP Addresses?

Oct 8, 2011

I have an unusual deployment scenario which may require the use of a SRP-521W, the scenario is as follows:Temporary Setup:Cisco 857 As the ADSL router until Ethernet Hand-off is installedMultiple IP addresses delivered on the ADSL WAN serviceCisco 857 put into Bridge Mode and connected to SRP-521W WAN portCisco 521W handles the Authentication and RoutingCheck Point Firewall System connected to SRP-521W LAN-1Check Point Firewall has WAN IP 203.XXX.XXX.XXXCisco UC-540W Connected to SRP-521W LAN-2Cisco UC-540W has WAN IP 203.XX.XX.XX If you understand the above scenario, I am curious if this can be done and if so how? I need to keep the networks totaly separate and the only thing they would have in common is the Cisco SRP-521W.It should also be noted that the SRP-521W Is being used because the ADSL service is only temporary whilst the Fibre Build is completed and the carrier provides an Ethernet Hand-Off, then the Internet service will change to this type of presentation and the ADSL router will be relegated to the dark world of loneliness.I have gone through the router and have been playing around with the settings, the issue Is I have nothing in the LAB work up that can allow me to replicate this environment and test it before deployment... So, how to reduce the amount of trail and error I have to encounter to get it to work.

Cisco Routers :: SRP541W Multiple WAN Configuration

Apr 3, 2013

I have an SRP541W with two ADSL modems attached to it. Both are running bridged mode with PPPoE connections to two different ISPs, (TPG and Telstra Business Direct). The TPG connection is far cheaper, and has a much higher download limit. Sadly, if I leave the router in "load Balance" mode for the WAN, it "prefers" the Tesltra connection because it's faster. I want downloads for movies/music, Youtube, Internet Radio, etc, to go through the TPG connection. Is it possible to do this in the router, or would I need to set up a proxy server, (or some other external device/application)?

Cisco Routers :: RV220W - Multiple Public IPs?

Currently the wan port on the router is .66 and I have all the ports forwarded to the correct internal IPs. This works fine. However I need to forward parts from other public IPs (ex: .67) to internal IPs. So far I have been able to accomplish this via the One to One NAT feature. It allows me to forward ONE port from a public IP to a private IP. However I need to forward 3 or 4 ports per public IP to a single internal address. Does this router not support that functionality?

Cisco Routers :: RV042 Multiple Subnets

I've set up VPN using PPTP. It works, but if my clients have their own remote DHCP set up to 192.168.1.x, they can't get to the server. If their home DHCP is 10.x.x.x., everything works

I am considering changing my internal network to something obscure.

My server has two NICs. So I thought, I why not set one address up to 10.x.x.x But the two nets can't ping each other. I tried using "multiple subnet" on the RV042, setting up 10.1.1.1, but no luck.

Connecting Multiple Home Routers?

Feb 22, 2012

wireless networking in their home. Their home is built of bricks (inside walls and outside), so basically going about 10 feet around a wall will drop a wireless signal. One problem is that the router outside in the office has a separate network than the router inside of the house by the kitchen. They're both configured to use different SSIDs/encryption keys, etc, but they both are connected via ethernet cable. Problem is, moving from one side of the house, she has to switch her tablet/iPhone to the network being broadcasted by the first router, and then vice versa when going around the second wireless network.

Can I just simply configure the router inside as a wireless bridge and use the exact same SSID/encryption etc and have only one network show up regardless of which one she's closest to?I basically want to set up her network to where she just needs one wireless network, and no matter where she go in her house, she's connected to the same network (regardless of which router it's connected to), and still have internet access.

all I got was I have to do something with MAC cloning and SSIDs.

Multiple Wireless Routers To 1 WAN Port?

Feb 16, 2012

setup multiple wireless routers to one Internet connection. We have one cable modem (with built in wireless router) for Internet connection. Over a wide area (500 feet over two floors) I would like to connect to the Internet throughout this area wirelessly. The computers sharing the connection do not need to share with each other and do not need to see each other. Security is not a major factor. The building material is cinder brick walls (which weakens the wireless signal quickly).I have several older (2008 or 2009) wireless routers. I was thinking of putting these routers at various locations in the building with a wired connection back to the WAN modem. Each wireless router could the service a smaller area in the building. My plan is to turn off the DHCP on each wireless router. Do I need to run a wired cable (lan port to Lan port) back to the cable modem or can I use the wireless routers to connect to the wireless cable modem?
