Setting Multiple Computers To Run One Teamspeak Server?

Dec 11, 2012

My friends and I want to set up a better Teamspeak 3 server but Don't want to spend the money to rent one. We currently have a friend who runs the server on his computer but it is unreliable. We are wondering if we could have multiple computers support one server. So that if one computer fails the server would still get supported by other computers that are supporting the server. Also what would be some recommended hardware stats to run this server.

So I'm asking, can we have multiple computers support a single Teamspeak 3 server?

Multiple Computers With Same IP?

Jul 21, 2011

I have 4 computer, all with them IP address. There is nothing I can do about this. I'd like to access them each via a 5th computer. Originally I thought I can connect each of the 4 computers to 4 different routers and then use NAT to convert their IP address's to 4 unique ones. When I actually applied this solution, the 5th computer was not able to ping the converted IP address. This method either does not work, or I did not config the router correctly. I was using a Cisco RV016 out of the box, and added NAT entries into it's table.

Access Multiple Computers Behind Router?

Jun 21, 2011

I have few computers behind the wireless router. All the computers have static private addresses 198.168.1.xxx. The issue is that when I try to access any computer e.g to use FTP. From outside since I can only use the main WAN IP address when I use FTP I can only connect to one computer basically the one running FTP service on port 21. I can access the wireless router and if necessary can do the port assignments. My question is that if multiple computers are running FTP services behind the router how can I connect to each one of them.

Connecting Multiple Computers Through Different Networks?

Jan 11, 2012

I have 3 Macs (OS 10.6.8) and one PC (Windows 7) at work. They are all connected to the company network for internet and access to shared network drives. The computers are used for media (mostly video) production and we need to move large files between the computers easily and quickly. The current network (company wide) is slow and unreliable, so I would like to create a separate network for these four computers and have them connected to both the company network and the office room network. Each computer already has two network ports and I have a router I can use.

Can't Connect To A Certain Website On Multiple Computers

Oct 13, 2012

I can't connect to one website. Not on my computer, not on my father's computer. I think the network is the problem, which is why I'm posting here. The website was working even yesterday but during yesterday evening, it stopped working and it's been like that since. I don't know how to fix it. My command prompt says my server can't find that one website and says my server failed. I tried other things like scan my computer, restart it, look at my Chrome settings, my firewall settings, nothing worked. I'm not sure what's going on here, because the network is private, and the contact information for 2Wire/Pace was useless for me, so I don't know what to do.

Login To Multiple Computers With Single One?

Jul 22, 2012

I currently have mutiple computers at my place. Once the computer turned on i want the option of which login for the current computer to use, it can login it current computer or the mutiples computer with their content/data all inside. So more like an computer linked. Example, it can only to A or B, A is the current computer data, while B have all the data of the different computer monitor datas, and if i login B it will show that current computer info. And same goes to the B computer, i can login to A or B on the B computer. What makes this very good is that, both the computer logins are sort of connected, for example if im on actual computer A, but logined to computer B and downloaded/changed some files/data on the B login, once i login on computer B to login B, the changes will apply even tho the changes are done in computer A.

D-Link DIR-655 :: Setting Up File Sharing Between Computers On WLAN

Jan 8, 2011

When I was using my Linksys router, I had no difficulties setting up Windows File Sharing on my computers but since I upgraded to the DIR-655, file sharing have hardly worked.  Sometimes I could get one of the computers access files on another, but not the other away around.  Most of the time, none of the computers have access to the files on any of the other computers.  Two of the computers run Windows XP and another one runs Windows Vista.  All computers are on the same workgroup and able to connect to the internet through the router.  When calling D-Link tech support, I am told that they dont support file sharing and that I had to contact each computer's manufacture's tech support on the instructions on setting up the file sharing (each computer is from a different manufacture).  One of the tech supports did drop the slight hint that I needed to recreate the home network, but when I tried to do that, all I could find is the settings to connect to the router (which I had set up when I installed the new router) and to enable file sharing (which is already done) and to assign the workgroup, which they were all are already assigned to the same group.

D-link Dir-601 :: Unable To Send Wifi To Multiple Computers

Feb 9, 2012

I have a Mac, and my wife has a PC running Windows 7. Since we moved into our new house, our Dlink DIR-601 does not seem to want to send Wi-Fi to both computers at the same time. One of the computers always seems to lag or not have internet connection at all. The Mac also seems to work better and more often than the PC when both are trying to access wi-fi.

I have messed with the channel settings, security, and most other typical settings on the router to no avail. Is there a setting I'm missing or should I enable certain settings that will allow both computers to have the same signal strength and reliability.

Linksys Wireless Router :: Setting Up New WRT54GL - Installation On XP SP3 Computers

I just got a new WRT54GL wireless router to replace my WRT54GS failing router and I have a question. It's been awhile since I installed the old router and I remember something about not using the CD as it says before plugging in the new router because it messes everything up. All of my computers are running XP Pro SP3 with 2 of them being wired.

I remember something about just plugging the router in and typing in 192.168.1.1 in my browser and then setting everything up that way. Am I correct in doing this or am I forgetting something?

Oh, I am also running Network Magic so would I also have to reinstall it?

Internet Access Using Multiple Computers On Private Wireless Network

Apr 2, 2012

the site has a private wireless network for which I pay a yearly access fee. This gives me a code I can use to gain access each time I connect. We used to be able to have all our family's laptops, etc., connected at the same time using this code, but the site has recently changed the configuration so that we can't do this. Is there any way we can share the connection made by one computer so that we can all access the Internet at the same time? The site is in a remote location that gets poor mobile data coverage and landlines are not an option. The yearly fee is already high, so I can't afford to pay for multiple subscriptions.

Setting Up Multiple Wireless Points As One Entity?

May 28, 2011

I work in a medium sized business with 50~ employees. We recently decided to allow wireless access for employees, newer computers with internal wifi, and customers. Now, I'm savvy enough to know how to setup a wireless router without using the instructional CD and just accessing it directly via the IP, that's all fine and dandy. However, the range of one singular wireless router hardly covers 20% of the building.

1: The main network hubs are located in a maintenance room far off in the corner, so setting up a wireless device there was not beneficial. I attempted to set one up via an ethernet port in the middle of the building. This worked without issues, and connected fine, however- The wireless router now has it's own separate set of IPs instead of "being one with the main router/hub." Our default IPs are 192.168.15.***, while this wireless router has created a separate set of IPs with 192.168.1.***. This wouldn't be much of an issue were it not for the fact our server needs to be connected via RDP through some wireless devices. So we cannot type in the typical IP to connect to the server since it's no longer in the same network, this also eliminates printer access. The simple question to all this is if it is possible to have a wireless router connected via a port of the main router still believe it's the same network like hubs do, or does this require a separate wireless device I'm unaware of?

2: The second issue is partially relative to the first. Range. As mentioned, one wireless router is not enough to allow wireless in the entire building. Boosting the signal will still result in weak signals, so the better option would be, at my only knowledge in regards to routers: more wireless routers. So I purchased three wireless routers, however the signal is still spotty. So aside the issues in question #1 to sync all routers together, is there a different device I could purchase or a method to make wireless router's range extended over areas. Like say a wireless router emits a signal, at the weakest point, the signal is boosted in a radius, at the boosted signal's weakest point, it's reboosted with another device, etc. I'm simply unaware as to how this could be done, but figure it exists. As my boss stated: How could airports have multiple access points, they couldn't just purchase these routers over and over and hook them up everywhere like this.

Cisco :: SG200-08 Setting Up Multiple Subnets

Aug 26, 2011

I am setting up my home lab to practice and play around.I have VMWARE ESXi environment with two workstations as my servers.I would like to setup two domains with two domain controllers  but i want each domain to have its own subnet. So this is my setup. I have Cable modem from cablevision , thay connects to my router which is Apple Airport which acts as the DHCP server. DNS server and default gateway. The network on the router is 10.0.1.xThen i have two switches . One is a 5 port unmanaged switch that connects to the three physical desktops .Then i have a Cisco small business switch SG200-08 that connects to my ESX servers and NAS. Now currently all is good and working but like i said all my machines physical or virtual get an IP that is 10.0.1.x and they get all this from the router. And i think i can setup two domains with two domain controllers without an issue and they will all get an IP address of 10.0.1.x. This is all good but i want to have one domain on one subnet and other on another so for example one domain will have 10.0.1.x and other 10.0.2.x. I am just not sure what i need to to  get this setup like this. I know my SG200-08 supports vlans and i am pretty sure on the apple router you can only have one subnet i think. So can i do this with my current setup by setting up a DHCP server with two scopes ?

Setting Up Multiple Wifi Access Points In A Building

Oct 14, 2011

I'm doing a college project and looking to triangulate a position where someone is standing in a building using information from at least three Wi-Fi access points. The building has computer labs that I can use. It also has just one Wi-fi signal. I want to know how I can turn one or two of the computers into a Wi-Fi access point that I can detect on my smartphone and differentiate it from the Wi-Fi signal that is currently in the building. Is there something that I can attach to a computer lab computer with possibly USB that will set up a Wi-Fi access point?or if I wanted, could I bring in a laptop and attach something to it in order to set up a Wi-Fi access point? In both situations, I want to use the Wi-Fi connection that is already in the building to create ' hotspots' that I can use so that I can get information from each.

Home Network :: Setting Up Wifi With Multiple Access Points?

Jan 27, 2012

Well this process is self explanatory, setting up the network is easy but im running into trouble with my wireless devices connecting to the strongest signalIm not exactly sure if there is a fix for this yet or if they have not made a protocol to fix it. I have a big house with solid wall in which i have setup 3 wifi's. 1st Modem/wifi Router, 2nd Wifi access point, 3rd wifi access point. Now the problem im having is moving between the access points my devices such as my ipad are changing from one access point to the next whilst moving throughout the house (that is until it loses the first signal I believe or you turn your ipad wifi off/on so it reconnects back to the strongest/closest access point).

Cisco Routers :: Setting Up Static Routing Using Multiple RVS4000s

Oct 8, 2011

I have 8 RVs4000's to built a test system with. On each side of the network is 2 servers, both with 2 NIC's. Both are on different /24 networks.

The idea is to simulate a WAN link, with the RVS4000's G1 & G2 running in "Gateway" mode to simulate the WAN.  All other RVS4000's will be in Router mode ('R1,R2...etc..')  All networks in /24 range. As I understand it, the RVS4000 CANNOT take 2 diverse networks on the LAN side: - ie 192.168.168.1 & 10.1.1.1 on the LAN side. The NIC's on the server only need to communicate to the similar type of addresses on the other side - 192.168.168.1 on server 1 to 192.168.170.2 on server 2, but NOT 192.168.168.1 to 10.1.2.1 on server 2. The G1 & G2 link is so that all communications are routed between this link - as a testing point.

So, my questions are this:
1) Will this work? Is there any easier way of doing this? (Bear in mind this is the only equipment i have to do this).
2) Is the static routing I have thought of work? (see below)

R1
0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.1.1.10
R2
5.5.5.0 255.255.255.0 10.1.1.100
4.4.4.0 255.255.255.0 1.1.1.200
[code]....

I know using the RVS4000's inbuilt RIP may be easier, but I've never configured RIP routing.  As this is a test environment, using static routing would be enough to get it going.  No security lock down is required, all I'm trying to enable is for the servers to communicate with each other (NIC1 on both servers e.g 10.1.1.1 on server 1 to 10.1.2.1 on NIC 1server 2, and NI 2 on server 1 192.168.168.1 to NI 2 on server 2 192.168.170.1)  The 10.1.x.x networks DO not need to talk to the 192.168.x.x networks.  THe G1 & G2 link is just for testing - but all communications must pass through here and be routed to their relevant networks on the other side.

Home Network :: Setting Up Networks With Multiple Locations / Wireless Points?

Feb 11, 2011

setting up networks with multiple locations and multiple wireless points. For example: My sisters' home has here modem in her main computer room, it has a Belkin router hooked to the modem. Then a line goes from there to my nephew's room where I tried to expand their network by adding another router. I really just wanted an access point, but they don't seem to sell these as much as they used to. Anyway, I had it working, but it was two different networks, NETWORK1 and NETWORK2. So they had to swap networks when moving around the house. what would be the best hardware setup to provide both sides of the house with some Hardwired access as well as wifi access? Right now, we have two routers, a DIR615 (or something like that) and a Cisco E1000, and again hardwire going from the main computer room to my nephew's room. Also, in my house, I have lots of stuff... I have an Actiontec Router from FIOS, feeding a small hub as well as a switch in my main room. Which then feeds a Ps3, Wii, laptop, Denon reciever, and Access Point... and also feeds my Apple TimeCapsule, which also feeds my printer. My wireless devices range from cameras, iphones/ipads, and a wifi unit (I forget what it's called, but it connects my DVR wirelessly to my network, and the DVR itself doesn't have wifi).

my question about my setup is, should everything be on one network... as in let the ActionTec handle most of the duties and use switchers and accesspoints to extend the network. Should everything be on the same wireless network and channels? Like if I used my access point to extend, do I want the same settings as my main wireless router, and would that be the same for the Apple Airport Extreme? Also, does having all these wireless networks going create any kind of hinderance on my performance. For example, the PS3 has some sort of wifi in it... it produces a SSID, but I never connect to it. Should I make sure that's off? And in my main room, should I go with just the AirPort extreme over using it and the Wireless Access point.

Cisco Switching/Routing :: 2821 - Setting Up Multiple Routes With Failover

Apr 2, 2013

I'm a bit perplexed atm with trying to set up multiple failover routes on a 2821 router.  Let me say that I have more experieince in a switched network as routing is seldom required where I work atm.  Here's my problem. I have a routing table set up as follows but only the primary routes work.  The failover routes will not kick in once the primary route is not there.

ip route 10.32.11.0 255.255.255.0 128.32.8.11
ip route 10.32.11.0 255.255.255.0 128.32.24.11 100
ip route 10.32.12.0 255.255.255.0 128.32.8.12
ip route 10.32.12.0 255.255.255.0 128.32.24.12 100
ip route 10.32.14.0 255.255.255.0 128.32.8.14
ip route 10.32.14.0 255.255.255.0 128.32.24.14 100

Ip addresses are not exact but it gets the point across.

Why the failover routes are not failing over?  The failover routes work if I remove the primary route from the config.

Cisco Wireless :: Aironet AP-1041N Setting To Have Access Point Broadcast Multiple SSIDs

So i'm guessing i will need to setup a dhcp server. 2 Computers On Network Lose Server Access Randomly

Feb 1, 2013

Roughly 10 or so computers and 10 or so printers connected to a server 2003 machine with att dal internet. Upgraded to att uverse and because of our program that we use (hotel management software) we have to keep the gateway / ip's all the same. Well for whatever reason, just so happen that our specific info that we have to use, the uverse modem has reserved for its self and we cant use it on there. We hook up a cisco e1000 router and have it act as the gateway so that we can configure our settings the way we need. Get everything going just perfectly fine. Sometime that night, 2 of the computers lose server/networked files access, but still have internet access. They only lose access to shared files, printers, etc... Logging off/on or restarting the pc's fixes the problem. But then every night almost like clockwork around the same time frame, it all happens again. I've changed ip's on the machines, changed settings here and there, but nothing has fixed the problem. The biggest pain is, I cant replicate the problem, I have to waot until that night to know if what I did worked or not. The last thing I tried was changing the lease expire timer in the router from 24 hours to 7 days. I figured I'd give that a try since it seems that its almost 24 hours exactly between errors.
