I have been searching the net for a hub of some sort for a home office. I need it to be able to support printers. It needs to be a wireless router and have a data storage which can be accessed by multiple computers. Like a backup. But the main thing im worried about is if it can be protected by antivirus and stuff.

The website was working even yesterday but during yesterday evening, it stopped working and it's been like that since. I don't know how to fix it. My command prompt says my server can't find that one website and says my server failed. I tried other things like scan my computer, restart it, look at my Chrome settings, my firewall settings, nothing worked. I'm not sure what's going on here, because the network is private, and the contact information for 2Wire/Pace was useless for me, so I don't know what to do.

The issue is that when I try to access any computer e.g to use FTP. From outside since I can only use the main WAN IP address when I use FTP I can only connect to one computer basically the one running FTP service on port 21. I can access the wireless router and if necessary can do the port assignments. My question is that if multiple computers are running FTP services behind the router how can I connect to each one of them.

We used to be able to have all our family's laptops, etc., connected at the same time using this code, but the site has recently changed the configuration so that we can't do this. Is there any way we can share the connection made by one computer so that we can all access the Internet at the same time? The site is in a remote location that gets poor mobile data coverage and landlines are not an option. The yearly fee is already high, so I can't afford to pay for multiple subscriptions.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have 4 computer, all with them IP address. There is nothing I can do about this. I'd like to access them each via a 5th computer. Originally I thought I can connect each of the 4 computers to 4 different routers and then use NAT to convert their IP address's to 4 unique ones. When I actually applied this solution, the 5th computer was not able to ping the converted IP address. This method either does not work, or I did not config the router correctly. I was using a Cisco RV016 out of the box, and added NAT entries into it's table.

Once the computer turned on i want the option of which login for the current computer to use, it can login it current computer or the mutiples computer with their content/data all inside. So more like an computer linked. Example, it can only to A or B, A is the current computer data, while B have all the data of the different computer monitor datas, and if i login B it will show that current computer info. And same goes to the B computer, i can login to A or B on the B computer. What makes this very good is that, both the computer logins are sort of connected, for example if im on actual computer A, but logined to computer B and downloaded/changed some files/data on the B login, once i login on computer B to login B, the changes will apply even tho the changes are done in computer A.

We currently have a friend who runs the server on his computer but it is unreliable. We are wondering if we could have multiple computers support one server. I don't know if I'm saying this right but, I have two computers in my LAN hooked up by a Ethernet cables to my modem/router zyxel pk5000z we were using theses computers to play together using Game Ranger. We were having some problems connecting to game rooms with a symmetric NAT. When the port forwarding did work it would only let me open ports for one ip adress for 1 computer it seemed. How do you open ports for all computers on your LAN?

Since we moved into our new house, our Dlink DIR-601 does not seem to want to send Wi-Fi to both computers at the same time. One of the computers always seems to lag or not have internet connection at all. The Mac also seems to work better and more often than the PC when both are trying to access wi-fi.
I have messed with the channel settings, security, and most other typical settings on the router to no avail. Is there a setting I'm missing or should I enable certain settings that will allow both computers to have the same signal strength and reliability.
I just bought the E3200 and have it all set up and have been able to successfully print from the USB port. I want to know if you can use a USB hub to connect multiple devices to the router. I found a couple of similar questions on the forum, but they're all back in 2011 before the 1.4 update to Cisco Connect.

View 14 Replies View RelatedEverything was working fine, and various computers, tablets, and even my smartphone, all hooked up to my router without any problems. Somehow, this week, first my Asus U56E wouldn't connect (before all this it was automatic), and then my Google chromebook wouldn't connect either. The Asus is my main computer. And the reason for writing. I just mention the chromebook because they both quit connecting at same time, pretty much. But still my old xp netbook connects, as does my new google nexus7 tablet. And my nexus one phone. All hook to wifi, with no problem.I tried everything I could think of: This is a Dlink Dir615 router. Even set a new wireless network up, but it doesn't seem to connect. I ran the Windows Network Diagnostics, and it reset everything, and looked like it was fixing it, but no go. It said to investigate router or access point issues. I did what it said, and what has always worked with these problems. Turned off router for about 1/2 minute, then restarted it. Then did the same with the Cox motorola modem, *and* the router, but still, just doesn't want to connect. Wireless, that is...no problem with ethernet.Finally pushed the little pin in in the back of router, and reset the router entirely. Set all up again. Same thing happens, it just doesn't seem to recognize these two computers. So just to be sure, I used my nexus one as a wifi point: and these computers hook up fine, so it seems to be something with the router. My ISP is Cox. Cable. Router D-Link Dir 615, latest firmware. Modem Cox issue Motorola Surfboard. Antivirus Microsoft Security Essentials, and Win7 Firewall (I tried with these two turned off, but still no).I include the xirrus app's output...My wireless network on that app is 'phubai' and that is the one that won't connect. I had trouble bringing it up on Xirrus, too. It would only show when I would attempt to connnect, then it would disappear again.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a home wireless network and my service provider is Suddenlink. I use a DLink modem and have two Tosiba laptops. All of this has been working fine until this morning when one of the laptops won't connect to the internet. when I run the trouble shooting guides on it I get messages that the problem is that the modem won't connect to the internet. However, the other laptop (this one) is working fine. when I look at the network map i see both computers and a green line to the modem. on this computer, there is also a green line from modem to internet. the other computer shows a res x on the modem to internet line. this is a sudden change i have restarted the computer the modem and the router. I can also conenect this computer to the internet via a mifi that I have but not the other laptop. there are no red x's on any of the hardware when I go to the "manage" computer.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi have a laptop and a desktop, everything was working fine until i messed with something in the router settings by accident, i changed some type of security setting and then changed it back because i was testing something.. at this point i had to remake the network for some reason, whcih was no problem i put in the pin and security code and i was able to connect through my desktop with no problem.. a few hours later i realized my laptop could no longer connect.. i recieved the unable to connect error.. i read that it could be the security settings, so i assumed i switched something before by accident and i restored to factory defaults...
after i did this my laptop could connect to the internet but my desktop couldnt connect! so it basically reversed itself.. i dunno what could be the problem.. i tried 2 of the 3 authentication modes because i am afraid if i try the 3rd i will lose internet completely then i will have no clue what to do..

I have an HP laptop that is running windows 7 that is wireless.When I look at network computers on the dell I get an error message that says that the computer is not accessible. The same thing happens when I try to log onto the desktop from the laptop. When I try to run the network wizard from the desktop, I see see connect to the internet, connect to a wireless router or access point, setup a dialup connection and connect to a workplace.None of them make sense but I tried connect to a wireless router and got a message that said to set it up manually or set up a flash drive, neither of which makes sense. I tried set it up manually and all that happened is the router setup screen opened up.I tried the same thing on the laptop and the setup the network wizard opened a screen that said choose a wireless router or access point to configure, but nothing ever showed up on that screen.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have and 880 W router. The LAN members can get out t o the internet. Now I want to configure NAT such that outside computers can access a couple of the machines using Remote Desktop (RDP). I am using Configuration Professional.
When I configure inside to outside, the remote computers can't connect to the target machines.When I configure outside to inside, the target machines acn't get to the internet.
When I try to use the advanced NAT definition wizard, I can't complete the task because the only inside pool (?) or LAN (?) is "designated" and not available to select. I can't free it up without deleting the one working NAT entry which is the one that enables all computers to reach the internet.
I want to connect my ps3, sky hd+ box and samsung smart tv. Upstairs is my wireless router and I have connected to this by using a power supply networking adaptor (duvelo). I have since purchased a cheap ethernet switch from ebay and plugged this into the power adaptor connection next to my ps3, sky hd+ and samsung smart tv downstairs. I thought by connecting these 3 devices to the switch (which is connected to the duvelo adaptor) I could have all 3 devices simultaneously connected online. However, I still can only have 1 ethernet cable in the switch at once and hence only connect 1 device at a time.

We have 2 wireless networks at home as we use an additional D-Link router through the powerlines. (DHP-W307AV PowerLine Homeplug AV Wireless N Starter Kit)I used to be able to connect to both but now I can just connect to the main wireless router. Other laptops and smart phones in the house can connect to both. I was wondering if this had anything to do with Norton 360 so I have used their removal tool to get rid of it. Unfortunately I still can't connect to the second network.
