I have two routers 2811, which set ntp client. Different versions of the IOS, other devices are working properly. My routers takes time to ntp with other router,which take time from ntp server.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy router is Cisco 2811 with IOS version 12.4(22)T1. It had established IPSec with another peer (203.*.*.250 shown below) for long until recently we make it re-establish IPSec VPN with another peer (203.*.*.30 shown below). It showed that the new sa is active but the result still showed there were 4 deleted SAs. The 4 obsolete sa entries won't vanish no matter what I do i.e. reset the interface, re-create crypto map, clear all sa and etc.
From numerous testings we knew that the VPN doesn't work even the desired sa is there remaining active. I reckon it has something to do with those deleted sas ( i mean it is supposed to show only the last one if it is working fine ). I don't know how it would be come like this as we did pretty much the samething on other VPN routers with no problems.
I'm trying to connect a Cisco 2811 using an octal cable to a Juniper MX480 console port.Since the distance between Cisco 2811 and router is 20ft, im using couplers and a straight-through cable for the lack of slack. This wiring doesnt work, however in another city it works going straight from the Cisco 2811 octal cable to the router since they are in the same rack.

The Exchange can receieve emails but it will not send them. It cannot make connection to any of the smart hosts on port 25 or can't even send mail using DNS. When I run telnet my.smarthost.com 25 it will not connect but if I run that from the router then it connects fine.
I have installed a new 2901 router with the IOS version 15 code (c2900-universalk9-mz.SPA.152-3.T.bin). Issue is when I do a "show crypto session" the GRE tunnels session status read down on the 2901 router but on the 2811 session reads up-active. Everything is working and I am routing over the GRE Tunnels.

I would like to set up a POTS Dial connection between 2 Cisco routers, using the modem card WIC-1AM-V2. I'd like to use this as an out-of-band connection to a remote site, if the primary internet connection fails. So, this setup will only be used in one direction, 1 router placing calls, the other one receiving calls.Here's my config of the receiving router:

This config is working fine, when dialing in via a Windows Hyperterminal Dial connection. After a while of dialing I get the login prompt of the router.Now I want to have a router placing calls instead of a Windows Server. I can't figure out how to tell a router to place calls to a POTS phone number.

I've never had this problem before with my ISP (Knology).But supposedly they had a scheduled maintenance real early this morning before 6 AM.Well, ever sense they did maintenance the router will not work and neither will my old one. The new router is a netgear, the old one is a linksys.I called them a few times and everything they had me try did not fix the problem.I can get internet access connected directly to the modem just can't get the router to work.When I right click and diagnose the problem it tells me that it's a connectivity issue with the modem. When I use my old linksys router and diagnose the problem it tells me that the DNS server is not responding.I have also tried resetting the new and old routers to default settings and started fresh.
View 16 Replies View RelatedI have an RV180 VPN router.I try to enable the VPN users with PPTP or QuickVPN but is not working.For PPTP sometimes my windows 7 connects to the router, sometimes doesn't connect with a random error message.When it connects, the windows 7 from outside the lan can see the computers from inside the lan but the computers from inside the lan cannot see the windows7 one. This is random also. When i succed to connect, from that computer, the internet is not working anymore.I tried to set the VPN in the same subnet as lan, i tried with different subnet. - I'm using 2 RV120W routers for each site.
- Site A using a subnet of 192.168.10.0 mask 255.255.255.0
- Site B using a subnet of 192.168.11.0 mask 255.255.255.0
I have setup the VPN using the wizard and I got site to site tunnels connected and show as 1/1 Connected (1 user) in the status he IPsec connection status show

Q2. I cannot connect from Site A to Site B , I can't even do a ping to 192.168.11.1 from Site A. even though it show the Site to site tunnel is coonected.
I am unable to make UPnP to work on the RV220W. I am forced to use port forwarding.

Apple AirPlay won't work on AppleTV (from neither computer nor iPhone) with my new Cisco small busines router WRVS4400N. It was working just fine on old consumer level linksys router. I have spent 3 hours with Apple support to no avail. Apple TV works fine on internet functions (netflix, YouTube, etc.) and I can play music and videos from the cloud, but iPhone and computer can't connect to AppleTV even though the icons appear in iPhone and Computer... just can't establish a connection.

We use this software VPN for the card payments (D-TEF) so i have to get it to work. I opened the same ports as i had in the Linux on the RV042 did not work, i opened all port on the RV042 did not work, i put it in DMZ mode and it did not work, i opened it all to the IP address of the computer that has the program on it. The computer with the VPN software has a fixed IP adress.

Ports cannot be opened maunally as well. I have been through every page looking for something that was missed, along with the sparse documentation instructions to no avail.
UPnP and port forwarding worked fine on the residental E3000 router that this replaced. I thought this was an upgrade, but it is seeming like a downgrade now.

Signal strength will be reported as "Excellent" and I'll be able to connect to the local NAS or printer but no external devices or sites.I have tried having the same SSID and wireless configuration on both but the result was the same.Today I read the suggestion to enable the DHCP server on the 2nd router but to set it to distribute a different non-overlapping IP range (i.e. router 1 can have a pool of 192.168.1.3-192.168.1.50, and router 2 can have a pool of 192.168.1.51-192.168.1.99)

The xbox is setup with a static ip address:
IP | 10.141.167.50
Subnet Mask | 255.255.255.128
Gateway | 10.141.167.1
In addition to simple port forwarding, I setup access rules in the firewall with any source to go to the 10.141.167.50 single ip destination. I have also tried with port forwarding off, but upnp on, and the ports setup specifically in that screen for this xbox. Finally, I disabled the port forwardingin the upnp, as well as the port forwarding screen and simply setup port triggering, while leaving the upnp service enabled. After all of that, the xbox would not get open nat. It doesn't make any sense to me that this doesn't work. I even tried turning off all port forwding and triggering and putting the xbox in as the dmz host. No dice. I'm honestly thinking now that there is a problem in the firmware or something that requires some special workarounds. I'm on the new firmware (i.e. 4.1.0.2) and at the end of my rope.
Using an rvs4000 with firmware v2.0.3.2 I am able to delete 'setup/lan/static ip mapping' entries, but I am unable to add any.After deleting an entry, hitting save (which reboots the router) and then trying to enter the same device with a different static ip address, the "add" button has no effect.

Remote Management is enabled on port 8080. Should it be changed to 443 as required for QVPN? Or it does not matter. Is it ok, to have management on 8080 and QVPN on 443?
