We use RVL 200 to establish VPN connections. Now we have the problem that no VPN connection is established.
The same problem with Windows 7, but also with Vista Buiness, using administrator account, IE8, trusted sites, ActiveX enabled ...Message: Virtual Passage Setup:Error: Virtual Passage not installed. Please install as administrator.

rvl200 is not working with any new os/java. cisco is not fixing and telling us to move on.picked up a vpn server and placed it on the dmz for rvl200 (on 192.168.1.105). for the life of me, can not get traffic from the outside to go to this server. tried port forwarding on rvl200 (for 443) which is what the vpn server recommends. rvl200 is not allowing this. can not go through the ssl vpn on rvl200 since it does not work. looked at rv042 topics and it shows similar problems.

How to get the Virtual Passage adapter to install and the VPN to work, I keep getting the install error for the Virtual Passage Adapter. I have the last and latest firmware installed, 1.1.12.1 and am running Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit. I previously had it working from within the same building where I am now in but somewhere in the IE upgrades or otherwise the adapter no longer installs. I have tried starting IE9 64-bit with administrator's rights, made the noted ActiveX and scripting security changes as noted in the manual for a Windows OS. I also have C++ 64-bit redistributable 2005 installed (also 2008 and 2010 for that matter if that would cause any conflict). I am running Norton 2012 Internet Security and SUPERantispyware which I don't think have any bearing on the situation but still thought I would note it. I do not have port 443 forwarded for any reason in the RVL200 setup which I learned RVL200 uses for the SSL VPN. I have tried removing the SSL drivers that were put in the Windows folder after the failed attempts of the Virtual Passage instal but with no luck in reinstalling.

Is it at all possible to channel all/some data traffic through an established ipsec tunneled connection using the RVL200? I have successfully established an ipsec connection through RVL200 and RV042 routers and are able to connect to servers/computers behind it.Now I want to channel all or some traffic through the ipsec-tunnel for computers that reside on 192.168.1.0 subnet of RVL200 network.
Main office - RV042 router - 10.200.62.1
Remote office - RVL200 router - 192.168.1.1
I am trying to use the Advanced Routing option to add static routes but I am not 100% sure if I am configuring the routes correctly. To give an example of routing DNS requests for HOTMAIL.COM [65.55.72.183]: [code]For some reason this does not appear to work. I have also tried using the interface setting of WAN and tested - this also does not work.

I maintain a small network - 11 clients and 1 server. The server is a WS2008R2 domain controller - the clients login to the server as active directory user. Now there is a need to connect a remote location to the network. The primary site has a DSL connection with a static IP and a cheap router. The remote site has DSL with dynamic IP and the same router. I bought two RVL200 routers thinking this would do the job. The plan is to replace the existing routers at each location with the RVL200's, configure a VPN tunnel between the routers, and thereby "virtually" connect the remote location to the network.
1) Is this plan as described doable?
2) How do the remote client machines "see" the network. Do they actually think they are on the primary site's LAN?
2a) Where will the remote client get its IP address? I'm assuming from its own RVL200 ... but then it will obviously not be on the same subnet as the primary site - so how will it access the server, etc.?
3) Can ALL traffic - not just "intranet" traffic - be routed over the VPN tunnel? (Will that happen automatically?)
3a) The reason for 3 is ... they do per-user internet access control through software running on the server, so they want to force all internet access from these remote clients to go through the same path as the local clients at the primary site.

I currently have an RV180 in a small business set-up and curently being accessed remotely by laptops (Quick VPN) and Ipads/Android ICS tablets (PPTP). All is working well but I've become concerned about the security risks of PPTP and would like to shift the tablets to IPSec.
1) For a small business are the PPTP risks real?
2) What are the alternatives for Android ICS? I can't find a Quick VPN client for Android.
3) I can't get the core IPSec VPN in Android to connect to the RV180? Is this possible?

Being new to the RV180 (and VPN routers for that matter) I have been struggling to get a VPN going, supporting both my Android and iPad devices. However, I understand a IPSEC connection would be a more secure sollution. Unfortunatly I cannot find a clear instruction anywhere to do this.I found the settings/descriptions in the RV180 quite different from the (few) settings in the mobile platforms. So far no success in getting it setup.

I installed DD-WRT on my router and placed it in bridge mode, configuring it with what I thought was my Androids IP address for the gateway. I tried with the Android IP address identified through cmyip.org, 208.54.32.156, and with the one identified through ipconfig command, 192.168.43.1. Neither address was successful. Also, I am unable to access my router using the IP address that I manually assigned to it.provide some assistance on the process of bridging from an Android to a wired PC through a router, Linksys WRT54G v3,

Am running firmware ver 1.00.19. Set up DDNS with DynDns.Org and all is well. Set up virtual server with DDNS info. Trying to connect to an IPcam (Foscam 8905W). IPcam is set up with static IP with ip outside Belkins DHCP range.
Problem: When trying to access the IPcam through the internet (DynDns) Belkin takes me right to the Belkin router Setup screen, not to the virtual server settings (IPcam). I was able to do it a couple of months ago,but not now. I may have upgraded my firmware in that time from 1.00.12.

I'm trying to set up a permanent VPN connection for an Expat. We've got an RV042 set up on site to act as the server, and an RVL200 as a client. This RVL200 will be behind a home router, so it needs to initiate the connection every time; the site side router won't be able to see it behind the Expat's home router.I've got a PPTP server set up on the RV042, and I'm trying to get the RVL200 to connect to it as a client. Is there any way to do so, or will we need to go with another option? Because on the RV042, I see no way to set up an SSL server of any kind; only a direct SSL Tunnel, which won't work as again, the RV042 will not be able to see the RVL200.

Linksys Small Business VPN endpoint routers?
I have been trying for two days to setup a Linksys RVS4000 to a RVL200 IPSec tunnel and I can't get them to connect.
The internet is via optimum online home internet accounts. From what Cisco said, the ports necessary are 500, 4500, 443 and 60443.

I configured both with static IP's as provided by my ISP, yet when I try to do a test connection on the IPSec screen I just get that it's "waiting for a connection" in the cell third from the left. Both RVL200 's are connected directly to the modem/bridge supplied by both ISP's.

Bought a Cisco RVL200 (latest firmware included - I checked), and I've set it up to serve as the gateway/firewall for my home network. I also intend to use the VPN functionality when travelling as well as serving up content from a web server behind it. All of this seems to work the way it is intended (after quite a bit of fiddling).
The problem however is that if it comes under any sort of load it simply stops responding - physically it looks alright with the expected leds being lit, just as it would when functioning normally. It does not display the management interface, nor does it even respond to ping (which it does when it works). If I start up a bittorrent client on any of the machines on the internal network and add a torrent to something popular like Ubuntu Linux it'll usually start downloading and then after 5-15 minutes the RVL200 will have stopped responding. Tried adding QOS settings to limit the computer running the client or downprioritize this type of traffic, but that does not seem to have any effect.

if the firewall rules in the RVL200 work for inter LAN routing as well as LAN<->WAN? I need 2 separate networks in a house, 1 for business 1 for family, and I want to only allow my IP on network 1 (family net,10.0.0.0/24) access to network 2 (business net 10.0.1.0/24). I want this as if I change rooms were a access point for business is not available I can use the home net and specific IP to access certain business net IPs. I saw you can turn inter vlan routing on or off, but it wasn't clear on firewall rules.know of a similar router in cost but with gige instead of 100Mb ports?

web authentication when using Android devices. I've been testing it and it seems to be caused by certificates (as it has been said in others discussions). With https disabled in the WLC (Wism 6.0.196.0), the portal authentications loads, but no with https. In addition, another issue I've detected is the DNS resolution of my controller by 1.1.1.1 when redirection takes place. With https enabled, DNS resolution and redirection works fine, so I don't think DNS server misconfiguration is the cause of the problem.I've only been able to see the portal with https disabled and entering manually 1.1.1.1/login.html

I managed to make this Android application that can show my DB's records and works just as I wanted. The code uses a PHP script to connect with a local mySql database and a JSON parser is also used.Of course, the application works perfectly in my internet connexion since I forwarded the port 80 to my computer by loging into my router.URL,Now, I'd like to make it more global? I'd like for example to use this app in my university's network. But I can't access the university's router.

Unfortunately, despite my best efforts to find a better alternative, where I live my only option for unlimited internet with any speed whatsoever is to tether my DROID DNA phone to my computer using the app PdaNet. I've been doing this for over a year now without any problems.I have an unlimited data plan through Verizon and although I only have 3G at my house, it is still far better than anything else I've found.
Recently I started playing the online game World of Warcraft. Obviously the speed isn't ideal, but it worked perfectly fine for about 3 weeks. One night the game started to get really slow and after a minute or two would freeze up entirely. When this happened, I would have an error message on my phone at the PdaNet screen that read "Communication with client has been broken." Despite restarting things, this continued to happen. I assumed that it was because the weather was bad outside, but the problem didn't go away the next day. When I noticed that my internet speed when browsing the web had slowed down as well I figured that although I supposedly have unlimited data, that Verizon must have slowed me down for crossing over a certain download barrier. I've heard that they do this.
So this went on for the next week until the first of the month when my data was reset through Verizon. Well I'm still having the same issue when trying to play the game. It will work alright for anywhere from 30 seconds to 10 minutes, and then all of a sudden start to get slower and slower until it freezes completely and I have the "Communication with client has been broken" error screen on my phone. I'm not sure if my internet speed in general is back to normal or not because I haven't spent enough time online to know for sure, but at the moment it seems to be.
