Cisco Routers :: Throughput On SB Pro SRP541W?
Jun 2, 2011i have gotten a question from a partner in regards to the throughput on both LAN and WAN on the SRP541W. I can't really find that on the datasheet.

While working with the config I have discoved that when trying to create a IPSec VPN policy, I am limited to only one "remote network" entry. This is typically not how VPN tunnels are bulit. We generally put the following remote networks in the tunnel. How do I open a BUG ticket with Cisco and ask that they change the code?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an SRP541W with two ADSL modems attached to it. Both are running bridged mode with PPPoE connections to two different ISPs, (TPG and Telstra Business Direct). The TPG connection is far cheaper, and has a much higher download limit. Sadly, if I leave the router in "load Balance" mode for the WAN, it "prefers" the Tesltra connection because it's faster. I want downloads for movies/music, Youtube, Internet Radio, etc, to go through the TPG connection. Is it possible to do this in the router, or would I need to set up a proxy server, (or some other external device/application)?
View 5 Replies View RelatedWe purchased a Cisco 541w router for one of our customers.
The main reason was to provide them with 3g backup solution for their business.
In order for the router to recognise the 3G router the firmware was upgraded SRP540_1.02.01_023_081211_1136.
We arrived on site last night to do the install but couldn't make any changes to the already configured router. Every time we attempted add a vlan or adjust the dhcp scope the router would return "The values are invalid".
Worked at this for over 1 hour and then decided to factory reset the router to see if that would revert the router to use the original firmware.
This didn't revert to the previous firmware but we magically could now make network changes without problem.
So everything was good, we reconfigured the router, tested 3G and failed the wan1 interface back and forth and the customer was very happy.
Customer arrived onsite this morning and the router was running on 3G. Every 8 - 10 minutes it was attempting a failover between connections.
I decided to turn off the failover for the time being and investigate further but yet again i was back to "the values are invalid"
We've had to pull the router as the customer is about 2hours away and revert back to their BT router.
Found this document for another SRP model - A warning message may appear in the Basic Wireless Settings screen with the text “The values are invalid” when modifying the wireless profile. Set the SRP 521W to its default setting (CSCtd49614).

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've configured an srp541w router for a customer and successfully configured an IPSEC VPN connection with a Netopia router at a satellite office for the customer.
I cannot seem to find a way to configure either a PPTP VPN connection or QuickVPN connection for remote users. I did read something that stated that the router will only support either a site-to-site VPN or a QuickVPN connection, but not both at the same time.
I am using an SRP541W router and i am trying to configure 2 vlans, each one to use its own Wan:Here are the dhcprules and vlans:As can be seen, each one has its own wan interface.
Vlans:As can be seen, each vlan is using its own ports and dhcp rule, so, now they should be separate.
Both Wans are connected: So now (at least as i see things) the two vlans are separate and using different Wan. But the reality is different, everything is going out using Wan1.Also in the Interface Info you can see that the 2 vlans are listed under the Wan1.
The rest of router setting are default.
We have an SRP541W on which I thought I had disabled DHCP, its turns out that in fact I haven't. After seaching again for the DHCP on/off funtion I found it under the Vlan settings (Wierd place to put it I thought).
The Router has a static ip address on the LAN side of 192.168.1.254 and is connected to a Cisco 2700 series on the WAN side. Our network DHCP is served by an SBS 2011 server hence my reason to switch off DHCP on the router. However when I select Static IP address from the Address Type in the VLAN settings and try and save the changes I get an error that is IP Address / Subnet Mask value is illegal. Great but why when the router has and IP address assigned and the subnet mask is set do I get this error. On the VLAN settings page there is no option to set an IP Address
Is there any way to setup an IPSEC tunnel to be able to go from my subnet, 192.168.75.x and be able to reach anything on the other side of the tunnel, 192.168.X.X?
View 5 Replies View RelatedUnfortunately, it does not appear as if the SRP500 series will allow you to create an ipsec policy where the local or remote traffic selection is 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0. It wants a specific network. I have a scenario where I want to send all traffic over the vpn tunnel.
Is there a workaround to this or a special way to input "ANY" as the remote network?
I have a problem connecting SRP541W to my ISP (L2TP). Connection is established, but default routing table is wrong: instead of gateway I see Server IP: [code]
In similar situations other users of my ISP with Cisco routers (IOS) solved this problem by adding command no peer neighbor-route but i can't do it through the WEBgui...
I've set up port forwarding from an external port (9000) to an internal port (80) on our SRP541W, and for some reason, it's not working externally. If I access the public address from within the internal network, it works properly.

according to [URL] enabling WMM should increase wireless performance. Although this article is rather old, how is the RV220W expected to behave?
In my case, speed measurements show a clear decrease in wireless performance when WMM is enabled.
For example:
WMM enabled - max 15MBits/s (ticked WMM checkbox - default settings)
WMM disabled - max 40MBits/s
When WAN traffic meter is enable on RV180 router maximum throughput drops to 40Mbps from ~120Mbps.Enabling WAN traffic meter is needed to get SNMP data from WAN port.
View 1 Replies View Relatedwhat the maximum Data Througput can be for this router. Right now, the router is limiting my internet speed compared to what the cable modem can provide..So far, I know that when I connect my computer directly to the output of the Motorola Cable Modem and run a Speed Test on my Charter cable connection, the test shows ~ 50 Mbps for downloads and ~5 Mbps for uploads. That would be great, but I have multiple computers and need to use a router/gateway to feed my LAN. When I insert the RVS4000 router between modem and computer, the Speed Test results drop to ~ 16 Mbps for downloads and remain ~ 5 Mbps for uploads. During that test, there were no other computers online via the router. While 16 Mbps is not shabby, I would like to achieve the full value... is that possible?
Is the RVS4000 unit capable of 50 Mbps for 30 Mbps? How do I setup the router to achieve the maximum available download speed? There is a setup page for the router which has settings right now set at 50000 Kbps Upload and 60000 Kbps for Download; this implies to me that the router is capable of such speeds.
My RV110W is only a few months old and apparently started ginvg me issues shortly after I got it. Since it was new, however, I only recently suspected it as the culprit!
I have a simple home/small business setup. A single PC wired into the lan and a handful of occasional use laptops & Android phones/tablets and a Playstation. My connection is a 30M down / 5M up cable link. I have a UBEE DOCSYS 3.0 cable modem operating in passthru mode to my RV110W.
Over the course of several days, thruput drops from the measured 30/5 down to as low as 1/whatever. Rebooting the RV110W restored full speed. The UBEE has never been rebooted during this time. Connecting my wired desktop PC directly to the UBEE modem give me the full 30 downlink speed even when the RV110W perfomance has dropped to 5 or even 1.
I am using onle a single wireless LAN, no logging turned on, no VPN, no other 'tuning of settings. As it is, this device must be rebooted every few days to restore full network speed. This is unacceptable, of course - especially from a small business class device!
I am trying to build a site-to-site VPN between cisco 1811W at a main office and SRP541W at a remote office.
I already have the configuration for the 1811W through SMD, but can't install the SDM on the SRP541W.
Does the SRP541 is compatible with SDM; and if not is there any other GUI to configure a VPN tunnel on SRP541.
We have 2 servers currently and are adding one next month. All need to be accessible using a different web address. We have setup a records for the 2 existing servers but cannot get NAT to work properly. We have a block of 5 IP's from FIOS. x.x.x.146-150 and have tried using 146 and 150 as the main WAN static IP with no success in getting the other address to communicate to the corresponding server.
What we need...
Server @ address 192.168.2.2 - SBS Server, standard SBS ports - currently working via port forwarding with WAN static of .150
Server @ address 192.168.2.3 - RDP, HTTP, HTTPS, and others. Some ports are the same as SBS. Trying to NAT .149 to this server.
Server @ address 192.168.2.4 - RDP, HTTP, HTTPS, and others. Some ports are the same as SBS. Trying to NAT .148 to this server.
All servers are on VLAN 1 which has a static IP of 192.168.2.1. DHCP is controlled by SBS.
i have recently successfully configured an IPSEC VPN from a SRP541 to our Zyxel Zywall 70 (main site).
I can ping all devices on the remote Site except the Cisco-Router!I tried to disable tohefirewall and did set "Anonymous Internet Requests" to "disabled".But still no ping (and no web management) over the VPN possible.
I must admit i am totally new to Cisco devices (up to now, we used only Zyxel) - so is guess it must be something very basic i am missing.
I used to have a DLINK router which covered my whole house with its Wifi signal. After upgrading to the SRP541W router, only the very close vicinity of the router has any acceptable level of signal to use devices. I seriously need to improve WIFI range to accomodate my small business. I asked the Live chat technician and the answer was "This device does not support external antennae" and then silence. Okay it is not supported but what I am looking for is a solution, not a dead end.
For example, is there a cisco repeater/extender that I could deploy that works with the SRP541W router? Any experience adding one long cable and putting one antenna at a different location of the house?
I am new to VLANs although I generally understand the concept. I have a small office with 25 desktop/laptops and 15 VoIP phones connected with a SG200-50 switch and on Port 1 I have the Cisco SRP541W router for DHCP and Internet access. My goal is simple: 1) Segregate the VoIP phones (voice) from the computers (data) and 2) Prioritize the VoIP phones traffic.
I believe this can be accomplished by setting up a second VLAN and maybe a third (if the default should not be used) and then identifying those ports as Voice VLAN ports. I guess I just need to know how to flag each interface and each port so that they all can talk to the router on Port 1 yet the voice and data will be in different broadcast domains. Also, do I need a management VLAN??
Is this setup correct? VLAN 1 - default (data) Port 1 (Trunk) (Tagged)Port 2 - 30 (Access) (Untagged)VLAN 2 - voice Port 1 (Trunk) (Tagged)Port 31 - 48 (Access) (Untagged) What should the interface settings be on each port (General, Access or Trunk)? What should the port VLAN membership be on each port (Tagged or Untagged)??

What is the max a Cisco 881 can handle if running IPsec? Also, if you are aware of any branch router (1941) which allows connection to future 4G LTE .
We have a 1841 setup with WAN and LAN subinterfaced(2 WAN connections, 1 internal VLANs) and I am recieving some pretty horrible throughput when traversing the router to the WAN.
I am receiving about 2 MBPS down but around 5 up.Currently there is a ACL on the WAN interface, and as well we are running NAT NVI. It is possible that this might have something to do with it, but I am not sure.
Most of the CPU is going to IP input however I cannot seem to determine the cause. One thing I am thinking is the overload for NVI is using a route-map. Could that cause it to process switch instead of fast/CEF switch?
My first wireless router, which I still have and works perfectly, was a DIR-601, A1, fw v1.00na. It has always been reliable and worked great, save for being a little weak on the signal range. Back when I got it I knew little about networking period, let alone wireless routers- so I never tweaked anything on it. Now it's almost 4 years later. Being a little more knowledgable, and my family creating A LOT more traffic on my network, I decided some upgrades were in order. First I called COX to upgrade my speed too, which led me to having to purchase a new Motorolla SB6121 modem- and everything was great. However, aside from the same old dead spots in my house, I was starting to realize the limitations of my 601 with regards to handling the traffic load. Since I never had an issue with my 601, I decided to stay loyal to D-Link. After, albeit, a small amount of research... I decided on the 655. It fit the budget, and I read some decent reviews on it regarding gaming. Plus, from what I've read, I didn't really see any benifit to justify a dual band router for what I do. Anyway, my new 655, B1, fw v2.05NA has solved all of my wireless issues and handles our traffic perfectly, except for one slight problem- my wired PS3. I have Cox ultimate, which here in Nevada is up to 150Mbps, and wired my laptop is getting 107Mbps download- pretty consistently with the 655, and around 100 with the 601. My PS3 on the other hand, went from 27 to 32Mbps wired with my 601, to only getting 8 to 15Mbps wired to the 655- and a lot of lag on certain online games. It seems that out of all of our devices, my PS3 is the only one that doesn't like the 655. I really hesitate to DMZ my PS because of the risks, but at this point I'm almost desperate enough to try anything. I hooked the 601 back up for now for the PS3 performance...but we are REALLY missing the wireless and traffic handling performance of the 655!!
