Cisco Switches :: SD2008 Switch Drops Connections

My sd2008 switch keeps dropping the connection. If I replace the sd2008 with another switch it works without an issue. this switch has a limited lifetime warrenty. If true, can I return this switch for a replacement? The switch has firmware version 2.1 and the serial number is really hard to make out on the bottom of the unit. I have a 2wire 2701hg-b wireless router/DSL modem. Every once in awhile, my wireless devices all lose their connection to the router at the same time. I believe the problem is internal to the router/modem as all my wireless devices' connections are dropped at the same time AND I can only get them connected once I disable and then re-enable the wireless on the router. The problem seems to only affect wireless devices as all my wired devices remain connected and my Internet connection remains intact as well.

I have a WRT54GL that I bought about 2 months ago, and I've had nothing but problems with the wi-fi since I started using it. It works as normal about 90% of the time, but usually 50+ times per day, I won't be able to connect to the router wirelessly (with ANY device, no matter how close I am to the router) for 1 to 2 minutes. The fact that I can't connect to the router with ANY devices during these times leads me to believe that the problem lies with the router itself. Another thing to note is that the wired connection to the router works just fine during these wireless outages.
I've tried changing channels and upgrading the firmware, but nothing has changed. Did I just get a bad router?

I purchased a Linksys WAP200E Wireless-G Exterior Access Point – PoE and a HGA9N (9dBi) High Gain Omni-Directional Antenna through CDW Canada about three (3) years ago in April/2009. The first year it worked great and gave complete coverage throughout the Campground. The second year it started to become increasing less coverage and now in the third year, it has very poor coverage. I have purchased and installed a new Microcom HG2415U-PRO (15dBi) HyperGain Outdoor Omni Directional Antenna. This has NOT made any improvement so I am now thinking that the WAP200E Access Point is the faulty equipment. I have changed the channel to number 11 and still no improvement. The Signal Strength is only Good and then dropping to Fair and sometimes no signal at all. This is from a line of sight location that is only 60 yards (180 feet or 54.9 metres) away. There are no objects between the Antenna and the computer.

I just recently purchased a Cisco ASA 5505 ASA ver 8.2. I run a teamspeak server/ssh/dns and domain on the same server on the network. Before I switched to the asa, I have a regular DGL-4100 that ran with no issues. I have noticed that the connections are very unstable and disconnect frequently and when they do they take 1 to 5 minutes to be able to reconnect. I have done some cisco IOS but am fairly new to this. [code]

I recently bought a refurbished E1000 wireless router from Amazon, and from the first day I've had recurring connection issues with it. Every half hour or so it will lose all of its connections (wireless and ethernet) and requires a hard reset. After resetting, all connections are good for a little while but then the problem occurs again. When plugged directly into my modem (Motorola SB6121), my internet access is completely fine.
The router has the latest firmware as far as I know (2.1.02 build 5 May 6, 2011), and I've tried to change several settings (MTU to 1400, Fragmentation Threshold to 2306, etc) but to no avail.

My E4200 seems to be dropping connections throughout the day. For wireless it'll still show full signal and connection, but there will be no internet activity for about a minute. Then after a minute things will work just fine again. For wired I notice it in my XBox mainly when I get dropped from games as constant as the wireless drops.I believe my modem isn't the problem since the old router never dropped connections on the hard wired devices. Occasionally my old D-Link router would drop wireless, but never this frequent,I am running 1.0.02. I've rebooted the router/modem several times. I even reinstalled the entire setup with the current version of Cisco Connect as the tech person suggested, but still no luck. The first week or so using this router was flawless, but ever since then it's been dropping connections several times throughout the day to any device connected (wireless or wired). The problem seems that the router just hiccups the connection very quickly, so quickly that Windows doesn't even recognize the connection has been lost, but long enough to drop a multiplayer game on XBox or to have me mashing refresh on my internet browsers.

I have a E3200 and upgraded the firmware last weekend to 1.0.0.4 and now I get dropped connections every few minutes. I was working form home and VPN into a west coast client and was getting dosconnected every few minutes so I thought it was possibly their VPN but when I checked my outloook it was also disconnected and is not associated with their VPN. I called Comcast and they said the modem has been online for 19 days so now everything points to the router.

My 655 router (RevB, Firmware 2.03) is connected from one side to a DSL modem and on the side to two wired PC's and via wi-fi to several other wireless clients (two smart phones and two notebooks). All is well until I try to connect a specific notebook. Connection is estabished for about 30sec and then the router drops ALL connections (including internet and local network!) and I must re-start him by un-plugging from power. Router is connected to my ISP with the option Keep alive and redial value of 20 seconds (the lowest i can set). There are two distinct problems: Router drops connections at random intervals. It can happen once a day or several times a day. It always happens overnight (so every morning it isn't connected). This doesn't seem to be related to ISP as direct connection to computer is stable.The Keep alive option isn't working. When it drops connection it isn't trying to re-eastablish it for at least 2 minutes (the longest i have waited so far, 6 times the redial value configured). Producing external traffic (e.g. constant pinging of some host by IP address, refreshing some web page) doesn't work. When i log on to admin console (browser based) simply clicking connect button brings connection back online. I've even been looking at status page constantly refreshing to see if it ever made a single attempt and it appears it didn't.I did my "homework" before posting (upgraded FW to 2.0.02 build 3, finetuned MTU).

The router works fine until I plug the 4th wire in the back, which goes to a 2nd desktop computer, then it is only a matter of time until the router drops all internet connections including the direct wire to desktop #1, wireless, and the other two wires.This is my 2nd e2000 router since Amazon replaced the first one after about 4 months as it was having the same problem.

My TL-WR741ND is about 1 year and a half old, it was working fine until about 2 weeks ago. I need to reset it, times between resets is not consistent, meaning, it can take 30 minutes, or 8 hours, but it needs to be reset. Right now, there are 2 wired connections (PS3 and Desktop PC) and 7 wireless (4 cell phones, 2 notebooks and 1 netbook). 1 of the notebooks has static IP, and it also has a VM running, with another static IP. Also some port forwarding simply stopped working (ports 80 and 1180), the rest of the ports work flawlessly, but trying to forward the port 80 and 1180 (to the 2 static ips) won't work. I already upgraded the firmware, and the problem persists, also changed the channel (from 6 to 1, and then from 1 to 11).
Installing dd-wrt/openwrt/gargoyle or anything like that, is not an option. The only reason why I bough t this router, was because I could use dd-wrt, I installed it 1 year and a half ago, and it simply sucked, the wireless bandwidth was non existent, and it was a headache. I installed it again last week, to see if it could be a solution, and I was not even able to save changes in the control panel. I need a real solution, and installing a firmware that works only on chrome is not an option (specially when I use Firefox, and I needed to install chromium just to erase dd-wrt)

We have an SG300-28P which, at intervals between 5 and 30 minutes or so, drops power to all of its POE-powered ports and then immediately restores power. The switch logs nothing when this happens other than recording that the ports went down and back up, even with debug logging enabled. Non-POE ports are not affected.
When the problem started there were only four POE-powered devices on the switch and we are far under our power budget. (While testing I added a fifth device, see below.)
Not all combinations of devices cause the drops to occur -- specifically, it looks like having devices on ports near each other causes the drops. When the drops occur, the absent counters of all of the POE devices increment. I noticed this earlier thread here seemed similar: [URL]
but in that case, he got no power at all in the adjacent configurations, instead of having it drop every several minutes.

I have a sg300-52 in layer 3 mode. I have 2 Dell access switches that connect to the sg300 in 4 port LAGs each. Connectivity works as expected.Servers are on their own VLAN, and plugged directly into the sg300. When somebody starts a file copy from their client workstation off a file server, the server VLAN drops everything except for the file copy. Even drops packets on its own vlan, (server to server communication) until the file copy is complete. Seems like the VLAN is rate limited somehow.

We currently have a site with a very simple topology that uses a 3750X switch stack for a collapsed core. Everyday, the users have a conference call and experience poor voice quality.Its not bad when users call from several conference phones, but when everyone calls in on individual phones, there is choppy and almost inaudible voice quality experienced. The voice traffic flow would be as follows: Phone <-> 3750 switch <-> Voice GW We have packet captures showing that RTP packet loss is occuring from the phone to the voice gateway, but none from the voice gateway to the phones. We also have drops in the output queues that match drops on the asics. I can reset the counters and they will be clear until the call, and then they increment significantly during the call. The voice gateway and phones are non-Cisco. The switch stack has 6 switches. We are trusting the DSCP settings on the phones. All the queue drops from the phones are usually in queues 0-3, but all drops on the voice gateway is in queue 0. Below are the QoS settings; they are mostly default and we have not changed any queuing, thresholds, or buffers. Should we specify larger buffers and threshold for a designated queue and send EF traffic to that queue?

Lately I've noticed some strange behavior on some of the switch ports. When I go through the logs my SGE2000/2010 stack, I see that some of the ports randomly lose their connection:

I have a pair of 5505's in transparent mode and connected them to C2960S. The inside interface (which is VLAN5 on the switchport) keeps dropping, going in to error state. There is no log reference in the switch and the interface shows as UP. The standby ASA has no problem, both interfaces on the switch is up. As soon as I failover the units over, the active node inside interfaces drops.

So I have a netgear wireless router that my computer uses to access internet, then i have ethernet cable running from that netgear into my room to a linksys befsr41 router that I disabled DHCP to use as a switch. I have the ethernet cable going into the 4th slot and my xbox going into the 1st. I got it working however...and before i say this let me tell you, before introducing the linksys as the switch everything was working fine, both wireless to my computer and wired into my xbox straight from the Netgear. Ok back to my issue, while watching netflix on my xbox every 10 minutes or so i will get disconnected from the network on both my computer [wireless to netgear] and xbox wired to netgear through linksys. I was wondering if this could maybe be some kind of IP Address issue.

At the moment i have 2 internetconnentions with 2 different modems/routers. I'm planning to build a home network total of 11 computers including a server the other 10 units as client..i have a wireless router with 4 ports & a 8 port switch,i have read it before that i can connect my switch to 1 of the ports of my router and it can use my internet connections. anyways i was wondering if i can still use the other ports of my router as i would like to connect my server directly to the router and not on the switch so that i will be able to connect all the 11 units on my network, and also control it through my server using a client software.

I have a WAG160N, with firmware 1.00.16. I run several wireless devices at home, a samsung TV, an ipad, an apple tv and an LG media center. I notice that whenever I switch on my LG media centre the wireles connection drops out to the other devices. Then I need to reboot the router and the wireless works again.

I have a 3750 as a core and have a series of HP Procurve switches that are daisy chained using one port. I have two vlans on the port now (6 &9) and everything works fine, all switches communicate and end devices on the switches are also talking. There is a requirement to add a device towards the end of the chain which requires it to connect using Vlan1. Once I add Vlan1 to the port onthe 3750 I lose connectivity to all the HP switches.

I just got a Cisco 2960G 24-port gigabit switch so that our HP servers can have a Gigabit connection to the network. I moved 2 servers to it (HP Proliant DL380's) but they don't actually seem to be able to achieve even close to 1000Gbps. I ran same some LAN bandwidth tests and it was showing only around 200-300 Mbps between all of them. I also ran a network stress test utility, LAN Tornado, and it was showing packet loss as high as 60% when on gigabit, and only .07% when on 100Mbps.
-Both the NIC's and the switch ports are set to 1000/Full
-Currently using Cat5e cabling no more than 25Ft in length (I know Cat6 would be better but Cat5e is supposed to support Gigabit)
-All servers are on the same VLAN
Here are the port statistics when running just a stress test @ 10Mbps that had a 45% packet loss. What's odd though is when I set the servers and switches to 100Mbps, I get less than 1% packet loss.
