From the multiplexer 9 ethernet connections are terminating in Cisco 2960G 24 port swith and it is connected through fiber uplink to one Cisco 3560G 48 port switch in first floor, which is connected to server.
How I will configure the 3560G to make communicate with 2960G and bring all these 9 ethernet connections to server. All the 9 connections are from different IP. and server also have different IP.
I'm having issue with one stubborn process that is consuming nearly all the CPU on all of my switches. I tried googling it, but had no luck. The process is "hulc nrgyz PD di"

Because I already have a whole bunch of 4500/Sup7's running IOS 15 I am thinking about taking the plunge with 30 3750-X's I have on order but want to review the release notes first. where they might be hiding?

I have found on the net the OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.9.9.0 but it belongs to an old MIB and doesn't seem to work with new switch models.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI want to implement port-based and MAC-based in these two switches: 2960 & 3560 (both of them have this IOS version: 12.2(55)SE1). And I haven't found a way to implement both of them at the same time. This is what I got:
ip dhcp use subscriber-id client-id
ip dhcp subscriber-id interface-name
ip dhcp excluded-address 192.168.0.0 192.168.0.2
ip dhcp excluded-address 192.168.0.251 192.168.0.255
[code]....
With this configuration I can use port-based, but not MAC based. If I remove the first two lines and change the last line for this one:
address 192.168.0.7 client-id 0112.ae1d.af58.60
Then, the computer with that MAC address got the correct IP, but then the port-based doesn't work. Also, I got this line in the interface what I want to use MAC-based:
ip dhcp server use subscriber-id client-id
Is it possible to daisy chain from a 3560 to 2960-S switch using a SFP interconnect cable (daisy chain cable)
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe have quite a few 3560 & 2960 on our edge network - what I have been looking at was to access switches via web-interface i.e. web-browser. Only problem with this is it always gives you access on privilige level 15 which is not ideal as not all who we decide to give access to these switches will be admin and allowed to configure these swicthes - In the 3560/2960 data-sheet states:
"Alternatively, a local username and password database can be configured on the switch itself. Fifteen levels of authorization on the switch console and two levels on the Web-based management interface provide the ability to give different levels of configuration capabilities to different administrators"
Where as there is no mention of how to configure these two levels of Web-based management in the configuration guide.
As per the attached diagram: How do I configure the 2 ports on the 3560 (Ports 6 & 7) and the connected ports on each of the 2960 switches (Port 25) to provide redundancy.
If the up link from Switch A dies then I need the traffic to flow through the trunk and utilize the up link on Switch B with minimal delay (milliseconds).
I have a Cisco 3560 running as a Level3 device in my network running 10 V LANs and routing between most of them (nothing complex with ACLs) and running spanning-tree mode pvst. The main network is run on a net gear GS748TPS stack of three switches running MSTP.
I have just bought an additional 3560 and a 2960 to plug in. I have set them up with IP addresses and then plugged them into the net gear. This brought the whole network down until I unplugged the new switches.
I have confirmed the IP addresses aren't duplicated and that DHCP is not running on the switches so I can only assume it's something to do with DHCP. I cannot afford for the network to go offline again, so is there anything I should check? Am I running incompatible spanning tree methods between the net gear and Cisco devices?
I am using Packet Tracer to simulate Cisco networking. As the existing IOS of the 3560 and 2960 switch are in older version which has no new feature in new IOS, how to upgarde the IOS of Cisco switch at Packet Tracer?

I am currently running a 4506 with a sup V engine. I have purchased a sup 7 engine. Is there a guide on how to perform this task. I am sure I need to do an IOS update as well.
View 2 Replies View Relatedwe have two core swiches 6506 and around 55 cat 3550 switches. currently we are on the process of replacing the cat 3550 switches to 3750 switches. We need 10/1000/1000 speed, ip base image with upgrade options. Our up links from cat 3550s(sfps) are single mode and dual mode fiber mode with 1 gbps ports on core switch.
At present we are not upgrading to 10 gb modules on core. Spread over 15 floors each floor needs 2 up links(single mode , and dual mode). since cat 3750 sfps are smaller in size existing gibics cannot be used. Looking for the best option of cat 3750 switches with 1 gb up links which can be upgraded to 10 gb later when we replace the modle on core. Requirements:
1- Cat 3750 switches 55 in no with sfps for 1 gb up link (dual mode fiber and single mode fiber)
2- stacking option
3- 10/100/1000 speed
4- ip base image upgradable to ip service image
5- ipv6 compatibaility. Network is spread over 15 floors so from each floor we need two sfp up links 1 gbps using dual mode and single mode
-6-Should be upgradable to 10 gb in future when we upgrade the core modules
Or is it better to go for 10 gb module in core as well as edge switches ? if so what should be the modules?
I am planning to upgrade my cat6500 using ISSU but can not find my doc to follow yet.

I am looking at upgrading my 6503-E switch. While I get the chance, I would like all aspects upgraded as I finally have some "downtime". I am running a Sup 720-3B.From what I understand, the boot image is a recovery image (mini IOS) - should the main IOS fail.Where should this be installed, sup-bootflash:/ or bootflash:/ ?,The file is “s72033-boot-mz.122-33.SXI11.bin.”The Boot Loader. My understanding is that Bootloaders are not used in these Sups with a MSFC3? I am not sure why TBH .. but would this be the case ?Rommon can be upgraded. I don’t quite understand if there are two ROMs (SP and RP).

1.) If I remember correctly I simply tftp the IOS to the flash of each switch and then reload the master only?
2.) Can I safely assume these are the 2 flash locations:
I had a strange problem here after upgrading Cisco 3750X.The upgrading was going smoothly, I copied a newer IOS to the flash from another Cisco 3750X through TFTP, changed the boot image. It took a while do to the microcode upgrading, finally, it started to boot up. But when it completes the boot up, I can't see the normal login prompt, but only some strange codes. From what I can see, it seems some decoding problem, as if I plug or unplug a cable from the switch, the strange code pops up again, like in normal situation, the console tells you that the interface is going up and down.
The original image of the switch: c3750e-universalk9-mz.122-53.SE2.bin
Upgrade to image: c3750e-universalk9-mz.122-55.SE3.bin
However, I don't have any problem to telnet to this switch, as it has correct IP address and login configured before the upgrading. I have reboot the switch for couple of times, reconnect to the serial port still doesn't show me anything.I am wonering has any one has met this situation before? detailed message shown after the boot up. cisco WS-C3750X-48 (PowerPC405) processor (revision A0) with 262144K bytes of memory.

I have a 4510R-E chassis which currently has a single supervisor 5 installed.
We are now looking at upgrading the supervisor to a Sup6. Now the question is this, can I install the Sup6 into the redundant cpu slot and then perform a failover to get the new switch working without any noticable downtime.
I'm not sure what having a Sup V and a Sup 6 in at the same time will do to the backplane.
Otherwise I have to take the switch down and then install the card and software manually.
It would be so easy but failed to upgrade 3560X switch to ip services licence is bought and paid for mail and log from the CLI and tftp server attached

Running "license install flash:" i get the message "%Error reading flash: (is a directory)%Error: License installation failed with error: XML parsing failed"The license installation instructions are a bit cryptic so I could be messing it up. However, every variation I can think of is not working. The command listed above gets the most "promising" results.
