Cisco Switching/Routing :: 7606 Need To Install WS-X6748-GE-TX With WS-F6700-DFC3CXL
Nov 13, 2012
I have one Cisco 7606 and i need to install a WS-X6748-GE-TX with WS-F6700-DFC3CXL.When I install the WS-X6748-GE-TX the module is powered off with the following warning:
00:01:45: %C6KPWR-SP-4-UNSUPPORTED: unsupported module in slot 1, power not allowed: Unsupported baseboard/earl combination. [code]
its a hardware problem or just not get power to module 1 for module WS-X6748-GE-TX? this is the capture from show module and sh log :

I have a WS-X6748-GE-TX with the WS-F6700-CFC daughter card. Is it possible to replace the WS-F6700-CFC daughter card with a WS-F6K-DFC4-AXL to make this compatible with the SUP-2T? Or, are there differences between the CFC and DFC base modules?
I have a fresh piece of 7606-S router, i am planning to install a new IOS ( 15.2.4S or 12.2.33-SRD8 ) SIP-200 / RSP720 moduls ... would ypu plese provides me a configuration guide for installing IOS for 7600 serise router.I have the image on TFTP server.
I have a cisco 6509 switch in which i have 2 SUPs. I am using 3 Qty. of WS-X6748-GE-TX in the same switch. First 24 ports of module 1 and are not working. I replace the faulty moldule with the working one but now the new (good) module's first 12 ports stopped working. But when I insert the good card (the replaced one with the faulty) in other chassis it works fine.
We are upgrading two standalone 6509E chassis to a VSS system with new VS-S720-10G-3C cards. The 6509's have WS-X6748-GE-TX card with DFC3B daughter cards (see below). The compatablity matrix (see below) states that 67xx cards are supported but it goes on to state DFC3C or DFC3CXL cards are needed. So does this mean that the existing WS-X6748-GE-TX cards have to be upgraded or will they be supported?

I urgently want to replace a faulty line card WS-X6748-SFP with a new one. The switch concern is a 5609-V-E operating in Virtual Switching System mode. How long do you suggest the down time will be?
currenly running a C6509E, with a WS-SUP720-3B running IOS level S72033-adventerprisek9_wan-MZ.122-22.SXH3. I want to install a WS-X6748-GE-TX blade and would like NOT to have to upgrade IOS at this time. Future migrations are planned. Can this be done?
we have 2 WS-X6516-GE-TX, WS-X6516A-GBIC, and a WS-X6748-GE-TX with a WS-F6700-CFC daughtercard
our sup is a WS-SUP720-3B
we are experiencing packet loss for everything connected in the WS-X6748-GE-TX blade, right now we dont have any production device in that blade due to the packet loss we are experiencing.
this switch was running hybrid before it is now running native ios, however I can't recall if we didn't have that packet loss before. do i need to update a firmware of the card or daughtercard (if this is possible, can't say i've done it before).
I've installed second WS-X6748-SFP linecard on my catalyst 6509 with sup720-3b and after that NAM-2 and IDSM-2 module become inaccessible from management network. I can only login with session slot N proc 1.When I execute #hw-module module 4 reset, modules become accessible.
#sh module from cat6509

I have a server with 4 ethernet ports, 1G, they are bonded together, two of them was pluged into cat6500 module WS-X6724-TX. now we have moved the two ports to the replace module WS-X6748-GE-TX.
I have checked server side, the bond configuration are same no changed. what is possible reason replace module will cause link offline? why "sh run all" give the port is shutdown?
I have two Cisco 7606 routers using BGP to connect our customers to the internet. Recently we added a new 1G circuit in addition to an existing 1G circuit and all traffic inbound is now on this new 1G circuit. We would like to shift some of the inbound traffic over to the other 7606. Our Tier provider has the same AS number for both paths. One path goes directly to New York and the other goes to Boston then New York.
I have made an etherchannel between 6509 and 7606 with two giga interfaces on eatch one to have more bandwidth (2Go), but the Etherchannel does not exceed 1 GB (Below is a capture for Etherchannel taken from Solarwinds).the both 6506 and 7606 use ws sup 720 3bxl
Our router suddenly reloaded. Below are the crashinfo obtained:

I've already found this kinds of cases, in this community. So, It seems that Changing the current configuration to 'mls aging fast threshold ## time ## ' is most suitable in our situation. But, I don't know how to calculate the apt threshold value and time value.

I have my router 7606-S rebooted by itself. According to output of show version command it's rebooted by software bug.

I have a cisco 7606-S with dual RSP720-3CXL. Devices reloaded and now none of the RSPs are booting. When I have tried to take the console using only one RSP, card going to rommon mode after that it hangs. I guess its firmware is corrupted.
we have a chassis 6513-E and a module WS-X6748-GE-TX, I'd like to know if could I put this module in any slot, since the documentation from Cisco says that any slot from a chassis 6500-E Series can support this module. And then in the documentation of WS-X6748-GE-TX says that this module is not compatible in the slots 1-8 of the 6513 chassis, only from 9th to 13th slots, in those slots from the 6513-E we already have 4x WS-X6748-GE-TX, and we'd like to know if could we put the module in the rest of the slots. The 6513, and 6513-E is kind of confusing.
I have Cisco router 7606-S. On Sami module led is indicate red. i also test it to other slot, reload the chassis but the problem is same. The module status is unnkown.
(Indicates red one of the following conditions:
• The SAMI is released from reset by the supervisor engine and is booting.
• The boot code failed to run.)

1.is this a hardware problem of sami module?
2. is this a boot problem of sami module? is this image problem of modules(supervisor or sami module)?
We have a 6513 which had 2x 8port (WS-X6708-10GE) 10GB modules one in slot 10 and another in slot 12. Between this two modules we created a 4 port trunk 40GB (2 ports in each module) between the 6513 and a Nexus 7018. Yesterday we swopped one of the moduless for a 16 port 10GB (WS-X6716-10GE) and cannot trunk between the two cards. Only 2 ports work in either one or the other. Seems because of the difference between them (DFC3CXL & DFC3C). Taking a look at the logging we noticed something to the fact of incompatability QOS feature between them.
We have a WS-X6824-SFP-2T card that we need to use temporarily in a 6500 that still has a Sup720. Can I swap the DFC for a CFC and make it work? I'm guessing I can because you can upgrade a 6724 with a DFC4-A.
confirm the C3KX-NM-10G module is hot-swappable.i have checked the cisco's website and it says " Although network modules are hot-swappable, we recommend installing a network module before powering the switch"
What steps i need to follow to install the module?
I have "inherited" a Catalyst 4506 with IOS version 12.2(20)EWA1 and Supervisor IV already installed. We recently purchased a second Supervisor IV and I am looking to install this second supervisor for redundancy. Is there anything special with installing a second supervisor or so I just physically install the new supervisor and the IOS will automatically set everything up?
When installing the license for a 3750-E I get an error that the license doesn't reside on the flash though dir reveals the image in flash. Seen this, know of a resolution?
We will install a new Supervisor Engine in our Nexus 7010.One Supervisor Engine is already installed an 1Year old.So the Problem is that both Supervisor Engines may have different NX-OS version.Could this lead to a problem?Does the installed Supervisor Engine "udate" the newer Supervisor engine?
We are looking forward to install a Cisco 6513 with IDSM-2 in each chassis in a VSS mode. Any experience with the configuration of the 6513 ? Also, lets assume I installed one active IDSM in each chassis with identical configuration... what happens when one of them fails ?
The DHCP/DNS server is on ip address 10.1.100.103 with an alt on .102 I'm attempting to integrate a 4510R+E into an existing network and use existing DHCP/DNS windows 2008 server to push out IP addresses to connected computers.
I want to assign a VLAN to every port for management purposes and then I put an IP helper address on every VLAN.
I've attached a the 4500E partial config. I'm attempting to get Gi1/44 to a state where I can plug a computer into it an resolve an ip address and gain internet access like all the devices on the existing network can do.
I've created a new scope in DHCP with the ip subnet of 10.60.211.0 255.255.255.0 It leases addresses from .1 to .253
The computer will not resolve ip addresses with this config.
