Cisco Switching/Routing :: Network Hardware For 300 IP Cameras?
Sep 11, 2012
Ref a setup required for approximately 300 Surveillance Cameras connected within a LAN. Around 250 Gigabit Optical Media Converters will bring in these cameras to Control Room. Cisco hardware to accomodate 300 IP cameras running on around 12Mbps which makes around 3.7Gbps total on 250 ports. The cameras then have to be distributed to network video recorders and several computers for recording and live monitoring. system that is capable of accomodating around fity more cameras in future.
I want to configure Cisco 3560 SWITCH with IP cameras. I need to configure the ports connected to Camers. IP addresses to the Cameras has been assigned.
Recently I hired some people to set up a security camera network in my office. They gave me an ip to connect to. I've been trying to connect to it through internet explorer, but when i type it and click go, it says:"Some content or files on this webpage require a program that you don't have installed"
I have a set of 5 IP cameras running on a server at my shop, I am using the AXXON software to run it. When I install the Axxon Client software on my laptop on connect wirelessly while in the shop, it automatically sees the server and connects.
However, when I bring my laptop home it does not connect (obviously). Instead of the servers name (which is what it looks at while on the network) I can input an IP address instead. So I input the IP of the WAN the server is on (found via IPChicken.com) and try to connect... it does not.
I forwarded port 80. I installed all of the required software, everything. The video feed on the Lorex dvr plays to the monitor. I have followed all of the directions and when I try to connect remotely I am missing a plug-in or add-on depending on if I use Firefox or IE.it is the Lorex 110 model I am using windows 7.

I have an RE1000 between my EA3500 router and two Panasonic WiFi network cameras. Sometimes the two cameras appear in the RE1000 Wireless Clients Table, sometimes one appears, and sometimes none appear. It looks like the cameras jump between the RE1000 and the EA3500. When this jump occurs, I loose connection to the cameras. If I restart the camera, it sometimes works but not always. When I disconnect the RE1000 it works OK because both cameras always use the EA3500. But the signal is very weak.
What do I need to do to get my EA3500 and RE1000 to work well with my two Panasonic network cameras?
Note that I am using 802.11b/g on the router and cameras.
2x DCS-2121 camera. They both record to the same wireless hard disc via my router (airport extreme, with external HD attached. )but when both cameras are on at the same time, they seems to interfere with each other, and regularly delete (all) older recordings of both cameras. (apparently as they "think" the HD is full)
This does NOT happen when only one camera is on.I even tried to record at the lowest possible quality as not to take up too much bandwidth, but problem remains.
I have a Lorex Edge 4 channel surveillance DVR system. One camera shows color, the other 3 show color, but every once in a while one of the others shows color.Have rebooted DVR.
we've had an issue with our network, we have 2 6509 connected with redundancy, which are connected with 2 x 4900 Switches, from which are connected to a ESX Chassis for visualization, the thing is that the ESX stopped working, and the 4900 switches, and the main core were suffering from overload, they hang on it very well, in order to stop the overload, one of the links to the ESX Chassis were disconnected from one of the 4900 switches. The CPU usage from the 4900 and the core(6509) went down below 40%, and then they started to migrate the virtual servers from the chassis to another 2 chassis that were added right after. They were actually working well, but suddenly the 6509 changed to the other supervisor after everything was OK. We were wondering what could have been the cause of this, maybe the virtual servers migrations, maybe the overload from the ESX ? We also had a few question, is there any need to reload the cores every few months as a planned task ? Because the cores have been up for more than 1 year. And also is there any kind of of tool to monitor the CPU status, or the status overall from the cores or the switches ?
I am implementing a guest wireless network to work alongside my internal network. The guest network will use the existing switching network and will be separated by VLANs. I have the ASA set so that traffic can get to it and out to the Internet. I can set up a workstation on the same VLAN as my guest network and can route inside my network (strictly doing this for testing purposes). Where I am having problems is with the Catalyst 4506 switches and the ip routing. I had two separate "ip route" statements defined on my switches.
ip route 10.200.2.0 255.255.255.0 10.200.2.254 ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.100.100.254
I have discovered that the traffic is always following the default route despite the fact that my IP address on my test workstation falls in the 10.200.2.x network. I was looking at documentation and found that it is possible to set up policy-based routing on the core switches. Can you have two "ip route" statements defined like this to segreate traffic or do I have to use PBR for routing (or a combination) in this case? If I define PBR then how does that impact my existing routing? I need to make sure that I can still route the existing traffic while I'm configuring this change.
I am trying to get my workstation to talk to a workstation on a different sub-net through a Cisco 3560 switch. The switch is running the following IOS version: [code]
My primary network is 172.16.0.0 and I am trying to connect to a device on a 192.168.111.0 sub-net. [code]
What would be the best way to get the two workstations talking via the switch?
I have 2 places in a distance of <300m, so I'll call these two places Zone A, and Zone B.I have each TL-WA5210G APs in Zone A and Zone B. Also, 2 IP Cameras for each Zone A-B. In Zone A, I have the two IP cameras and my office, (so I could see what happens in my "A" zone when the signal come to a LCD located at my office), and also, I want to see what happens in my B Zone. So, I was thinking to connect the IP Cameras to my AP in Zone B, in the way that this AP sends the signal to the AP at my "A" Zone, including the cameras in this A Zone. So, I don't know how the APs need to be configured, I mean, in which operation mode. I've read that 1 must be in AP Client Router and the other only in AP.
the 2nd one is for all guests and it's isolated from the lan+trusted(1st one) with a vlan feature.
the 1st one is for all trusted devices over wifi. the wifi channel is setup to allow mac addresses of the two asante security cameras. the cameras upload videos to an ftp on my server. the two will connect to the router at first, I can ping them or see them in 'my network'. give it a little time and they disappear. then I have to power off/on the router or the cameras to make them work for a few minutes. the process repeats.
the cameras make lots of connections to the ftp server. I'm suspecting they're flooding the router and it blocks them. occasionaly they will come back for a minute or two and disappear again as if blocked/unblocked.
I added their mac addresses in hopes of making them 'trusted' devices. I've tried them on both ssids. I checked and unchecked firewall/security checks and icsa settings. all other devices I tried, multiple phones and laptops work without problems on both ssids and they don't get blocked.
How to connect about 20 IP Cameras sccatered about 1km apart within a residential estate. I need to power the PoE switches at each camera location without cables and all cameras pictures/events must be monitored in a control room though a wireless network.
I am trying to be able to access my IP cameras over the internet and am having trouble. I have been trying to follow the manufacturers directions but the Modem I have, is different than what they discuss. I have a Netgear Model 7550. When I choose to port forward, there is no place to put the IP address.I can see the cameras when I'm on my network, but once I get off that network, i cannot access them any longer.
I currently have 6 CCTV cameras in my house, which are physically wired to a DVR. I can view these cameras through a monitor using DVI out. However, I would like to be able to view these cameras from anywhere I can access the Internet. The DVR that I have has an Ethernet port. Do I need to host a server to stream these cameras online, or can I simply connect the DVR to my router and then access the router through a static ip?
I have a DVR machine that I've been trying to carry out port forwarding to view cameras from outside the network. It lies on 192.168.1.31. The confusing thing is the ports. The configuration on the DVR lists a device port: 8000 and a http port: 80. I am torn between which port to forward.
I setup one location (business retail shopping center) in maryland (using swann dvr/cameras- will switch to qsee) with no internet available.I setup another location (business auto shop) in virginia (using qsee dvr/cameras) with internet through verizon fios.I have internet through cox at home in virginia which I can view cameras remotely only to one location in virginia.
can't forward port 80 and 9000 from my Qsee Dvr on my linksys router. Model Bfsr41 firmware ver 1.05.03. I want to be able to access my security cameras remotely.
I have a sonicwall tz-170 that has a standard interface. It is the main system with IP 192.168.1.1.Another location using IPs 192.168.0.1 has a dvr (192.168.0.154) with ports 80, 37777 and 37778.I can access them from the main location just fine but setting up a service then a rule does not allow me to connect from outside the network. I assume this is the same for anything trying to reach the other side of the vpn but I'm not sure
I have two locations separated by less than 300 meters. In each zone I have an Access Point and in only one zone (let's call it Zone B), I have two IP Cameras. The idea is to connect these two cameras to my AP located at Zone B, and then, send this signal to my other AP to get this cameras in a LCD. First of all, I want to know in which mode should the APs be connected, I mean, in which "Operation Mode". I have three options:
i have multiple DCS-930 and DCS-932 at my home. I also have other IP cameras. Is there a way to add IP cameras to the mydlink app on Android, iPad, and web?
I can access my cameras through the Dlink web site (mydlink), but cannot access all of them through D-View Cam o n my desktop. I do a camera search and it only finds two of them and the third one it doesn't see. I tried to insert it manually and it still doesn't see it. It sees it fine in mydlink.
I've uninstalled the D-View Cam program and re-installed it, with the same results.
I am doing a project with 6 DCS3411, 4DCS 7110 and 1DCS 7410. My question is which DNR /NVR will be able to support all the cameras and how. because most of the say they can support up to nine.
On one of my cameras time keeps resetting as if power was turned off then on again. It happens 2-3 times a day. I think there is no way to resolve it other than replace the camera.
I have installed 8 cameras that go to my 8 camera DVR. I have a 4 channel router that goes to my Comcast cable modem. I would like to view my cameras from anywhere that I can get on a computer. I have the DVD that came with my DVR and I don't know much about doing this kind of work. What do I have to do to view my cameras from any computer? My DVR is HS8308 8 channel Pentaplex H.264 DVR w/500GB HDD & DVD-RW What do I have to do to make this happen?
I've been working on this for several days with no luck.I'm trying to setup CCTV DVR Security Cameras in my Barn/Garage. I am getting a good wireless signal from my home with an Alfa wireless usb adapter AWUSO36H connected to a Alfa router/Repeater R36, using this as a hotspot for my garage/barn. The house has a Time Warner
I have installed two 930L cameras which work fine via mydlink. When I attempt to connect them to D-View Cam 3.11 they fail to connect or will not stay connected.I first tried connecting to the router with both cameras in the same room as the router. One will connect and stay connected but the other will connect and freeze or not connect at all. If I move th GOOD camera out of the room, it will not connect.Do I have a router issue? I am using Verizon FIOS with their supplied router (Actiontec, I think). My wireless laptop connects but signal strength is never 5 bars.
