We are getting a replacement NME-16ES module shortly. I don't see a console port on these pups. Once installed - how can we add the configuration from the failed NME-16ES?

I need to upgrade the IOS and an wondering why the download center is pointing me at C3560 images. I downloaded c3560e-ipbasek9-mz.122-58.SE2.bin and it failed and was stuck in a loop booting and resetting over and over.

I can get the switch to bypass the config and come with the switch: prompt, but can not do anything more. I am trying the password recovery guide, but cant get to the text file to rename. View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been tasked to replace a failed sup on a 6500 Sup32 running IOS. Now, the primary sup doesnt have a compact flash. I don't have any CF on me. The replacement sup i received also doesnt have a CF.From the cisco website it says that the moment I insert the secondary sup into the chassis. it will automatically download the IOS and boot details from the primary to the secondary sup.

I have an alert from monitoring system about: “ fan for this system is not in the NORMAL state”. In the switch I found that the problem is with fex 3, see below:

Technician said: fans appear to be operational, BUT the only thing that appears abnormal is STAT light is amber (not sure what it means).
Also, if I compare the temperature from module 3 with module 2 (which doesn’t have an alert) is almost the same, this is why I think the fan is working fine, since module 3 is not hotter that module 2.
What I can do to reset this fan (chassis)?

we have approx. 70 Cisco 1941W routers deployed in our company. I used to be able to console into the internet wireless AP by issuing the below command:

However lately this hasn't been working and AP just simply refuses connection. Here is what I have for Status. I have tried reseting the Service Module to no avail.

When I insert the TwinGig Converter in a Catalyst 4900M you get the following error message: Failed to read transceiver serial eeprom on port Te2/1, try reinserting.This error is probably because the device expects 10Gig transceivers to be connected to the device not 1Gig.I used the TwinGig 4 module and 8 SFP ports are connected. The stackwise marketing info states that when a failed member is replaced with a new switch the replacement switch "gets the exact configuration of the old device". I would figure it takes a little more than just disconnecting and connecting a new switch in the same spot on the stack. doing this with 3750 family switches? What are the steps to prepare the stack for a new member? what steps need to be taken on the replacement switch before insertion into the stack to make sure it gets configured like the unit it was replacing?

I have been trying to make a stack with two 2960S. They have the same IOS but they behave as they were not connected.One is in production and I am attaching a brand new one to it; in the one that is in production I get these 2 messages:
FlexStack Module SmartChip Authentication Failed.I tried switching the modules and the outcome is the same, so I think the modules are ok.What to you recommend, is there a way to bypass this authentication?
Using Network Assistant in XP, plugged ethernet cable to first front port and keep getting "Failed to get Default Gateway. Check your security settings to make sure the current Java Virtual Machine is not prevented from running commands.", I have tried reducing secruity to nothing but I still get the same problem.
I also have an official cisco console cable and tried that, but Hyperterminal just does not pick it up when plugged in. I have left the IP dynamic, turned off all netowork adapters apart from ethernet, set the baud rate etc... correctly, still no joy.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am almost new to the networking field, hence I might have lacking some basic knowledge. I like to know the impact if the ground of any router get disconnect. WIll the router stops work? We have two peripheral router in my organization, both are connect with the MPLS cloud through the MUX. One router (3745) have ground connection, where as the other (3845) don't. Recently the 3745 router start generating CRC error on the WAN interface. Once we remove the patch cord connecting with the MUX for loop test and reconnect later, the interface did not come back again. FInaly someone advice me to check the ground connection. I found it was loose. Once I fix it properly and reboot the router the interface become up. The person told me that some cisco router send the reference signal through the ground to the MUX connecting with it, if the MUX and router failed to exchange the reference signal the router will not work, is this true ?

The following error was seen on the switch and the Diagnostic Test Loop back failed following a new WS-6748-SFP module installation.Fabric in slot 5 detected excessive flow-control on channel 3 (Module 4, fabric connection 1)
Tried Hard reset of the module and still the error persist.
I have a Cisco catalyst 6513 with sup720-3bxl and WS-X6724-SFP modules , the switch was working fine until yesterday ,but after a maintenance the modue WS-X6724-SFP failed to bring online , the error code is (Module Failed SCP dnld) does it mean the module has hardware problem or i need to replace it ?

We recently installed Cisco 6509-E with dual Sup 720-BXL. We are using this switch on internet Edge. Internet connection is terminating on 10GIG fiber port.We do have following line cards installed.
1. 10 GIG * 4 port line card
2. 1 GIG * 8 port line card
3. Empty
4. Empty
5. Sup 720-3BXL
6. Sup 720-3BXL
7. 1 GIG * 48 ports
8. 1 GIG * 48 ports
9. 1 GIG * 48 ports
We do have 2 GB internet pipe.We are running load test sending http port 80 request and when load reach to arround 100 to 200 mbps and connections from out side to inside 80,000 switch start reponding very very slow and start packet loss and when I try to ping from one server to second server it show normal ping but if I tried to ping gateway IP of server which is SWITCH IP it show packet loss and very high letancy.
Switch also throw message "No memory available: Update of NVRAM configuration failed"
I have a cisco 3750 swicth which i want to load a new ios to but unfortunately there's no enough space on the flash. This means that i need to backup the cureent (old) ios to my tftp server but the command keeps failing. I have a pair of 3750E-24PD-S stacked together, it seems after stacked together the stacked switch always flood the console screen with these messages which are not true: [code] Switch-2 is the stack member, Switch-1 is the stack master. The RPS fan failed refers to RPS2300 or the internal power supply of 3750E? Even when I turned on the RPS2300 the stacked switch still display the messages. Also I have two RPS2300 serving stack master and stack member respectively both RPS2300 were switched off why the messages only refer to Switch-2 and not Switch-1? [code]

Currently I have two 6504's setup for VSS with one connection to the sup engine (10Gig__Connection) and the other connection on the Module 3 10Gig Blade and the same setup on the other 6504.My question is: If the active 6504 has a power outage or the link on the sup engine goes down, and the standby 6504 becomes active, what happens when the Failed 6504 comes back online with a higher priority and preempt set? What happens with the 6504 that took over as Active and now eeds to go back to Standby, what's required?
What I'm seeing is once the Standby took over and became Active in order for him to go back to Standby mode it's asking for a reload to take place is this NORMAL?
A new Cisco 3750V2 (WS-C3750V2-48PS-S) running IOS 'c3750-ipbasek9-mz.122-50.SE5.bin' waspurchased to add to a stack of 3 Cisco 3750 (WS- C3750- 48PS-S) switches. The IOS on the stacked switches is 'c3750-ipbase-mz.122-25.SEB4.bin'.I loaded this IOS on to the new Cisco 3750V2 and deleted its original IOS. Boot up failed with error 'hardware not supported by firmware'. I am now trying to follow the recovery procedure but the I can only initialise the flash (flash_init) and there is no 'boot_helper' command to load the boot helper files. There is no option to rum 'copy xmodem' so I cannot upload the original IOS image via xmodem on hyperterminal.
