Mar 28, 2011We purchased this router with the cisco IOS software installed. I've installed the Vista driver on my win 7 box. I believe that should work. I installed Putty to termainl in and I'm using a USB connection. I cannot even log into the router. I thought I was going to see some kind of setup wizard using the CISCO software so I would use a GUI and get things moving. I've got loads of reference material with command etc. but I just can't connect to the router to make it happen.

Mar 12, 2012I am having an issue accessing the internet from a PC on the LAN. I have configured the PC with the gateway of the router infront of the ISP to test. I can ping from the router to google or any other internet IP. From the PC I can ping to the GIG0/1 (Inside LAN IP) and the GIG0/0 (Outside WAN IP going to ISP) but I can't ping the Next Hop IP of the ISP or anything past that. If I do a trace route from the PC to the google IP address it hits the GIG0/1 Inside LAN IP Address but fails from there. Here is a cut down snap shot of the router configure

I upgraded 1941 to latest IOS.Compters running Windows XP can telnet to router and hit the internet. Computers running Windows 7 cannot hit the internet. I replaced the 1941 with a 1760 router and Win 7 computers can telnet to router and hit the internet. I used the same config from the 1941 on the 1760.

Oct 27, 2011What is the procedure to reset a 1941 router to factory defaults? I just recieved my1 1941 router. I connected it up to my Mac using USB. I got loged in using the cisco/cisco login and it said it will only work once and that I should create a new account. So I entered the command as directed on the screen and it gave my an error about the command. I verified it three times and each time it rejected. While I was looking online for an answer the connection timed out and now I can't get back in.

Aug 30, 2012During an installation, we plugged a Ruckus wireless bridge (powered by a PoE injector) into G0/0 on the 1941. The port status remained down/down. We then tried connecting it to G0/1. Again, the port status remained down/down. We took another wireless bridge, plugged it into G0/0 and the port changed to up/up status within a few seconds. The same happened when connected to G0/1. Both ports are have speed/duplex set to auto/auto.We took the cable from the first wireless bridge and connected it a 3550 switch, the FastEthernet port went up/up. We then took the cable and connected it to a switchport card (HWIC-4ESW) that was installed in the 1941 router. The port came up/up.We connected to wireless bridge back to G0/0 in the 1941 and manually set the speed/duplex to 1000/full. The link light on the router became illuminated after a few seconds but no console message was displayed (nor did any events appear in the log) and a "show int g0/0" showed the port status as down/down. This was could not be duplicated as this only happened one time The wireless bridges sit atop of a water tower and are connected each via a shielded ethernet cable. The cable that we're having trouble with is cat5e STP and about 310feet in length. I should note that we have not yet swapped the PoE injector but it seams to be functioning properly as power is getting to the wireless bridge and its accessible. Also because if the wireless bridge for some reason didn't come back up after a power cycle it would potentially mean climbing the tower to perform a hard reset. We tried another 1941 with same results however we have not tried another router model to rule out a potential platform issue. Can you recommend any troubleshooting steps to determine why the port status of the gig interfaces on the 1941 don't come up?
