View 1 RepliesI have configured an ASA 5510 and 2960S 48 port switch in a lab environment. I have two laptops connected to seperate subinterfaces with server 2003 as dhcp server for one network. Everything has been working fine as we have been testing the ASA while also testing the csc smm module. When we came in today we noticed the csc module cpu is running at 100% constantly and http traffic is extremely slow. I have not yet received my smartnet contracts from the vendor or I would open a TAC case and I have read on the net that this is a common problem.

After policy services have been enabled, services works well for a few minutes, after that the cpu usage's module rise to 100% and all http traffic is wholy blocked, till the cpu usage go down.This happens very frequently and traffic stay blocked for such a long time that it makes the csc-ssm module unusable. It's disabled right now. ASA version is 8.2(1)and CSC-Module version is 6.6.1172.0.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI seem to get conflicting information on using the Management port as a regular routed interface on the ASA5510..The management interface can be used for the traffic that passes through the firewall as well. The Security Plus License for the ASA 5510 is required in order to use the management0/0 port as a regular interface. With a base license on the 5510, the management0/0 port cannot be used as a regular interface.
I believe that I saw another post that mentioned it was part of the standard IOS if you had a later version.

I have one ethernet cord from my netgear to the internet port in my D-Link. Is that correct?
They are both set to DHCP as that is the only way i have been able to create a network that i can connect to the net through my router. Problem is it is constantly reconnecting and only getting speeds of 2mb dl and 1mb up. (I should be getting speeds of 30mb dl, 2mb up.)
I recently purchased the WRT-120N router for my home network. The wireless is set to mixed mode, with WPA Personal encryption, with key renewal set at the default 3600 seconds. My problem is that the connection is not stable. I can be connected with one computer, then, as soon as another computer joins the network, I get kicked off. This happens with all of my 5 computers. In addition to this, several of my computers will not automatically connect to my network after the computer is restarted. When I try to reconect manually, it says the network is unavailable. The only way I can get back on is if I go into "Control PanelManage Wireless Networks" and delete the setting for my network, then connect again through the "Connect to a network" window.4 of my computers are running Windows Vista with a minimum of Service Pack 1. The Other is running XP with Service Pack 2.

however recently when i check my internet usage log on my wireless company (Rogers) the usage is totally off from what my bandwidth tracker shows me. So i decide to turn off my wifi and see what happens, there has always been this weird wifi connection appearing whenever my wifi appears, then afterwards when i turn off my wifi the suspicious wifi connections disappear. is this possible that someone is using our wifi? i might just be overreacting but it has brought me to concern that if the usage continues my family will have to end up paying over $30 for extra internet use. it is very frustrating me because when i check my DHCP client table it only shows 3 connection, ethernet - my desktop which is not turned on, 2 wireless connection - my laptop and my sister's laptop.

The problem was that HWIC-4ESW no longer pass traffic although showing that the interfaces are up rebooting the router solved the problem. What IOS is more stable and not subject to this problem?
i wanted to know the reason of why my ping drops or how to make it more stable. For example i play a game called League Of Legions, which i think my connection and pc exceeds the system requirements. (Except my Video card since im using a standard which was with the MOBO.)
When im playing this game, i have a ping of 50-80, suddenly it drops to 300-500, which causes me lag (Happens multiple times in a 45min game or any). I think thats not normal, since other players dont suffer from that.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am having some difficulties to have a stable connection on a Cisco 881. I have a IP Sla running with an ICMP-ECHO towards the uplink router. Linked with this is a tracking on the IP SLA so I can shutdown an HRSP instance with the tracking. The desired result is with this that when the nexthop becomes unavailable HSRP switches to the second router with the backup connection.
Regardless whatever timeout or threshold, the tracking switches at a random point when the line is somewhat congested. Debugging it shows me only a time-out on the IP SLA.
Is there anything possible to get the icmp-echo to retry it 2-3 times or so before going it's status is set to failure? [code]
I have a RV082 in the corporate office, and several remote people connecting to it using QuickVPN through a variety of clients (XP and Windows 7). As of today, they are all now seeing the "Remote Gateway is not responding - disconnect or wait" message. Checking through the logs on some of the remote clients, I see the "Failed to ping the remote router" message several times, followed by the "Ping was blocked, which can be caused by an unexpected disconnect." message.
The odd thing is that everyone has been running very well over the past 2-3 weeks - most people with 8+ hours of solid connectivity. We made no changes to the clients, nor to the remote router in the corporate office.
I am trying to use some WAP4410N in client mode, not much luck.In one case they shouldt connect to different unsecured networks controlled by a Cisco 5508 controller.I can get connection to one of the SSID's but not very stable.One ssid can be seen if i switch from ap-mode to client and run a sitesurvey. Right around the same time, my connection began disconnecting every two or three days. Before this, I had a rock solid connection for two years.
It will usually reconnect after a minute. Otherwise, when I boot my computer, the problem is solved.
I am certain there is a correlation between the connection speed going up and my connection becoming less stable.
I've had the DIR-655 for a few months now, along with a Motorola Surfboard sb6121 DOCSIS 3.0.Modem works fine, the router was working perfectly fine until recently last week.
I have a desktop hardwired and a wireless network going on that I use just for my mobile phone and tablet at times. At first I was having disconnection problems with my wireless, then noticed a neighbor installed a similar router in the area according to my wifi analyzer, so I changed the channels and my wireless started working great. During this process I also did a firmware update and since then I've been receiving some really poor browsing problems, sometimes I'll visit websites like Facebook, or a news website, and it'll say something about the DNS not working, (at this point I'll ping the website and it still pings fine without any loss) so I'll visit the website about 10 minutes later and it works great. I've done extensive research on forums/Google and found it must link up to the new firmware update and something about a DNS relay? My version is: Hardware Version: B1 Firmware Version: 2.10NA
In other words, is there a way I can fix this issue from disconnecting without having to downgrade back to the old firmware? Or is this a common issue they'll continue to happen? If I do downgrade, HOW do I downgrade back to the stable version?

Router has 1 eBGP session with ISP from where it downloads whole IPv4 internet routing table and two IBGP session with other two rotuer. When I look at BGP summary table I see many updates received from ISP and sent out to IBGP neighbors. Also did debug BGP updates to confirm it.
We are seeing this issue since ISP has upgraded their router 20 days ago. Router also seen following error.

I have a dell poweredge 830 (3.0 dual core pentium, 2gb ram, 2x160gb hdd in raid 1, dual port intel gigabit card). I'm trying to find a router OS that logs bandwidth by ips on the lan. I tried untangle and clearos neither of which have a feature (or one that I can find) that logs the bandwidth by ip. Apparently pfsense has a package you can install but I have never been able to get pfsense to work on this pc, it always errors in one way or another (on the 2.0rc3 I can't access the web page, it says it is missing a file).
View 19 Replies View RelatedI recently ran an upgrade on my 6509-E's and when the first switch came back up, 3 of the 10/100 switches that were in the chassis did not power on. After further investigation, these models are not supported by this latest IOS version. The module # is : WS-X6248-RJ-45
We have one WS-X6348-RJ-45 and since it was a few weeks ago I did this I can't remember for sure but I believe this one came up.
Where can I found the information regarding this being unsupported but I know it is out there and any page that showed me that this was unsupported with the latest stable IOS of 12.(33).
In addition to this question, I have approval to purchase some newer gigabit switches that will be supported by this new IOS version and hopefully at least the next few over the next few years. Which specific gig models are currently and hopefully should be supported for the next few years? I don't need PoE or anything spectacular, just regular switches that are attached to either servers or virtual hosts. I've been looking at the lists of what is out there and it seems like there are hundreds of different models and it is becoming difficult to determine what is what.
